I could not join my own server using your LOI custom server hak in my computer for gaming, I replaced this with the server Hak version and seems I can enter game now, did you mix up files or somethng change on your last update?, a good work and well done. Just thought let you know about Hak Problem.

Hi Thales, BTW your mod version 6 has LOI_config 5 Hak in it, I take it I just replace with LOI_config 6?

Hi Thales,
that a great mod great thx!
But there are some bugs into the new quest in V6:

- The trigger of quest " Tendos Stolen Art " does not work.

-There 's an Exploit in this "missing Heirloom" that gives infinite rewards (xp and money).

-The secret door in the "Arcane Studies Supplys is reversed.

-Armor Item: "Dawns splendor" is bugged (undroppable, unselled).

-In the Green Isle (Barthan Militia HQ) you can not leave the barracks (is a one way door)

Hi its me again *Smiles*

I had a comment I felt may be worth mentioning(if you are still developing your world which I think you are).

You know the only places ( so far) I feel like someone just portaled me away from your great work is when I go underwater. I know you have it set up so that one can drown but it seems to be magical damage and the ammy that has magic resistance seems to keep one form drowning( kind of takes away the reason to have a breath underwater ring). But the thing that really makes me feel like I am no longer in your world is that I can cast spells and walk around and even use animal empathy on the sharks and have them follow me out of water *Evil look*.

Could you change this so we have to shape change into a shark or something so we can't use spells and this shape is the only way one can be underwater with out drowning? Would make one feel like one is swimming instead of just walking.

I would try to do this but I am no good at this kind of things every time I mess with the tool set I end up breaking thing. And your work is so good I do not want to break anything hehe.

Anyway thought I mention this in hope you find my suggestion helpful. *prays for a shark suit that allows one to swim and breath under water*

P.S. I will try your new version as soon as my computer decided it wants to download the new CEP I seem to crash before it finishes heheh *sighs*

Thales Darkshine. Thanks for the contribution!! I personally don't play on PWs etc, but when I saw that I could Solo this one, it caught my attention. When I DL'd this I nearly had a fit when I saw the "actual" file size of the game! But no matter I knew I would be in for the long haul!

I really like the "First" area. About the only thing I would have liked to have seen was over at that "Races" (for lack of a better term, was the ability to Add or change one's sub-race. NOT that it's important just would have been nice. Also, You might consider having some gold available especially for "Newly" created characters. Either that, or simply have that NPC give you necessary gear.

The detail to each area is SUPERB!! Conversations etc were also well done and *sighs* yes, I did see a LOT of spelling errors but this WAS noted in the Description for the game as well in the various posts.

A couple of things of note.

1. Around ANY "water" related areas (ie. The Docks) there is *serious* lag, even for my machine! Quite bothersome but manageable.

2. After buying a house, I found that while I could place furniture, I was NOT able to place any of the windows. I couldn't find anything to help me.

I would like to see a couple of things for the "Public" releases. Firstly, can you remove references/materials that are PW specific? A couple of the books come to mind. Secondly, with respect to some of the quests. Directions would be a bonus. I spent nearly 10 RT minutes finding a "certain" Street. Thirdly, I spent some time running around fully armed. When I paused to get some info from a guard, his mate swore at me and the next thing I knew I was in jail. Perhaps having that Temple Priest mention something about running around with weapons drawn is a no-no. Finally. I like the idea of having a Bank! What I found missing was that I needed to have gold ON me when I was purchasing stuff (in this case a deed). Could you not add something so that all merchants would know that you have coin? I know of a couple of builders that have this in their games... no I don't recall which, sorry.

Again thanks for your submission!!

...Now IF more PW builders would consider doing the same...
We are all born ignorant, but one must work to remain ignorant.

The version 6 hak sets are done and ready for download (if you had the version 5 set then you only need the update not the full)

I am running a final build on the public release of version 6 right now and will upload it when its done barring no build errors.

I have enabled all of the cep C.R.A.P. content that does not interfear with the systems already in the module and have added a few of the times to some of the stores. what I havent done is put any of the C.R.A.P. "stuff" that is shocased in the demo area in the cEP 2.2 crap base mod. that area was added to the LoI mod public release for those that wich to add more of this content to the module and need a "referance"

((I wish these formus allowed a preview or edit fucntion))

Oh worry not about spelling or that kind of things with me because I am the worst offender of that(skilled writers probably take offense at my terrible grammar and spelling but I try my best hehe).

Anyway I am so happy and encouraged that you are still so active with your modules. I mentioned your module in the PRC forums. I hope that is o.k. with you. I just wanted to see what the people that built PRC think about how hard it will be to turn your PW into PRC. ( I know many would be happy to know about your work regardless).

As you know already I am useless when it comes to much of what you do so well but for what is worth I use the PRC switches as a way to customize what I want instead of messing with there script or trying to mix it with existing script. They have so many switches that controls all aspects of the game LA, crafting, death system, etc. as well as being able to turn things off as well so they do not interfere with your existing work. Unfortunately much farther than that I can't help much.

PRC is almost like a whole new game it offers so much new stuff and so many new magic systems. It really is a way for NWN to be immortalized as the combination and possibilities are so many that its almost impossible to play them all. ( And with a PW such as yours it would be impossible to ever get bored of it.)

Anyway Using LA( level adjustment switch *it is all automatic once turned on) things get balanced much better. I am sure some of the pro players and builders will be better help than me.

But I can make a good cheerleader ;)

Thanks again for your consideration and time!

PRC... PCR (so I'm a bit dyslexic when I type... in adittion to being atrocious at spelling)

Hi again,

Well I am sure glad to hear you are still actively working on your SUPER PW.

You know... For a very long time I have been a fan of PRC ( I love there PnP Shifter among many other features). But I always found that when ever any person tried to make a PW with PRC they faded away due to how hard it is to incorporate PRC an maintain balance ( One almost has to start form scratch and know all the PRC content intimately to make it work.)

I know little to nothing about making modules ( thought I have tried very hard I am just not good at it) I am a player ( love to play for hours). But to play PRC I have to merge and existing module with PRC and I quickly find that it is either way out of balance for many races and classes ( because the module builder did not take PRC into consideration when making the PW or because the tlk file and custom content conflicts with PRC. So I thought my solution would be to try and make my on module (WOW... That was way to hard. For me at least). Only to end up not satisfied with what I made because I know where everything is, I know the plot etc.( it is just no fun to play your own modules).

But your PW even with just vanilla NWN classes and the subraces is so much fun! *Dreams of it with PRC* that would be such an awesome experience( I think). I only believe it can be done "right and balanced" by people with your skill, knowladge and love for RPG(NWN).

I will cheer you on with your work regardless of your choice for it is great already. Anything more is nothing less than a bonus. Great work!

Posted by Thales Darkshine at 2009-01-07 23:57:47
Thank you for your kind words TarponCrest, they are most apriciated.

As for incorperating PRC into the module, I have often concidered it and now that no more offical nwn patches will be released it is in the realm of possibility.

On a simular note I am at this very moment working on public release of version 6 which will be CEP 2.2 compatible, more info on that soon.

Posted by TarponCrest at 2009-01-06 16:30:07    Voted 10.00 on 01/06/09
I am so thankful the creator(s)/Owners(s) of this PW decided to share this with everyone. Thanks!

This is a great well balance PW with great maps and lots of things to do. I can see how this PW works best for RP in a multi-player setting, but I been having a great time playing solo using the henchmen that are available.

So many things have been well thought out(no stealing things right in front of NPCs with out the NPCs having something to say about it! No pulling out your weapons in front of the guards unless you want to start a fight with the the whole city. Monsters actually try to run away if you are to powerful for them or will ignore you if they know you are to powerful, they will run for help towards others monsters(on there side) if they are loosing a battle, Rogues ambush you in city alley ways and they actually come out of the shadows (stealth mode/ hips/ I even thought one tried to PP me (I have not confirmed this for sure as it has never happened again) but it sure looked like he was trying to(nothing stated on the combat log though), anyway to much to write...)

I sure would love to see this quality of work using PRC and incorporating all the things they have to offer, like Jump, Teleporting, Balance, etc ( to much to mention.)

I have played many, many hours of NWN both online and solo over the years none quit ever proved to be so polished as this world is. It truly shows the author really hoped to get players to use of all skills, feats, classes, races, sub-races, etc available. Even the books that can be found around the world seem to have been written by people skilled in the art of writing( I even took a break to read them and I never read the books because the are often to long and I get bored fast but these were just right and actually helpful tips in some.)

This module was definitely done by skilled people, who love PnP D&D and actually now the rules and seem to practice the game with true passion.

Thanks once more! Great work hope you will keep it updated should you improve it over time or decide to incorporate PRC to your already fantastic work.

Posted by Thales Darkshine at 2008-09-12 15:44:19

make sure you have the most recent update of the v5 module. (there was an issue with the everyone being a dwarf it has been resolved though)

Posted by Qlippoth at 2008-09-07 02:03:48
This is a cool PW module, but I won't rate it until my issue gets resolved and I have a chance to actually play it for a while.

I do notice an issue with the haks, though. When I wear a cloak it appears sized for a dwarf, also my head wil change from whet it is supposed to be to a bearded dwarven femail head after a few area transitions... I chucked everything out of my override to be sure, but it also happens no my clean linux install on my laptop.

Posted by Thales Darkshine at 2008-09-02 10:26:30
I just checked the updated archive this morning and it is now the correct one (last night I was having trouble getting it to update to the new version)

The date on the module in the archive should be 9/1/2008 for it to be the updated version.

Posted by Thales Darkshine at 2008-09-01 22:37:42

I just discovered that I left the "bugged version of the OnClientEnter script in the public release of V5

I am at this very moment correcting it. and will update the posted file.

if you would like to correct it yourself if you already have the module all that is required is this

comment out line # 61 on the script "pw_mod_clientent"

*rember that if you open the module in the toolset you must have the moeule specific cep2_custom hak in your hak directory or it will corrupt the module due to missing resorces.

Posted by Thales Darkshine at 2008-08-31 23:41:15
Another note*

I was going to update the v4 module to "reset" the player house sinage and Guild halls.

But I have run into a snag. The laptop that I used to edit that version of the module (still running 1.68) was one of the itmes stolen when my home was recently burglerized >:{

I have a plan that involve borrowing my nephews PC (which I build and gave to him) to do the update editing :)

Posted by Thales Darkshine at 2008-08-31 23:32:17

A thought on the JenX 2.3 I took a look at this just recently. It has not been updated to be 1.69 compliant (1.69 added new armor parts) nor is it CEP 2.1 compliant as far as I can tell. Unless you are willing to make those adjustments yourself I would wait untill the original author updates this to the current versions. other wise it will conflict with content in the v5 module (v4 might be ok)

Posted by Thales Darkshine at 2008-08-31 23:09:45
The Public release of V5 of LoI is now avalible.

this version requires NWN 1.69/CEP v2.1/LoI v5 haks (the new LoI haks are avalible at the bottom link in the link list)

Please read the readme.txt that is included in the v5 archive as it contains an important tidbit about running/hosting/editng the module.

Posted by Thales Darkshine at 2008-08-25 20:00:50
Thanks for the words of praise :)

I am working on a public release of Version 5 (which is 1.69/CEP2.1 compliant) I hope to have it ready to upload in less than 2 weeks.

this version will also have all of the player guilds and player housing signs reset to nowned. *grimaces* I forgot to do that with this version

I just recently got back into playing NWN1 after about a year off. First of all, I rent a server out of Chicago that has been the host for most of our games for over 3 years now. When I made the decision to get back into playing I came to the Vault and looked around for PW's that I could just install with minimal effort and enjoy with a few friends. I was very fortunate to have found your LOI mod which in my personal opinion is one of the most detailed and enjoyable mods I have played yet. This is a pretty high mark as I have played several mods with Rhun, Ambrosia, Olanders, and Lodor topping my list of systems / mods that have clocked hours on my server. After just a few hours of playing we were sucked in and hooked ! I recommend that everyone should give this one a good look.

Great work ... I look forward to delving into the rest of this module full force !

Thank you,

The v4 hak set is now avalible for download.

I shold warn anyone who is going to dive into the scritping of the module that I am one of those tha only putts in comments to the scripts I write 50% of the time.. at best. And this module has some remenats of systems from the vault that were included in the early beta version that I decided not to use in the "live" version.

But if you have a question about any of the inner workings I'll be glad to answer them as best I can.
