Your parents never returned from the recent trip to settle a clan dispute. And as you are ready to set out to find them, Masako, your long time friend show up at your door. You decided to invite her in and have a talk with her before you venture out to find your parents, it appears this will not be a good trip. This is the fifth update: the locked door problem has been fixed finally. This is now 1.64 of NWN, and now the installation has been simplified, refer to readme for more info. Dialogue.tlk will no longer be replaced, so you can use your original dialogue.tlk now and it won't mess up your game.
I would like to play this module and its sequel, but as they are .exe files and I'm on a Mac, I'm stuck. Could it be possible to put an archive (.tar, .sit,.zip or whatever) with all the files needed to play this module not bundled together in a .exe file(perhaps with a small note on where to put everything, but that is not essential).
Due to gender, race, feats and level restrictions quite popular on the vault, the user's localvault might already be stuffed to the limit with bic files, even with male asian humans ;-)
Please mention the prefered char *clearly* in your ReadMe .

Hey Avi&Candace i just downloaded your mod i can't say it's the best, and can't say it's the worst needs a little bit more tweaking especially in 2 areas. The dialog i found that NPCs repeated a lot of things, And the encounters i found that enemies appear behind the PC it they need to be, let me see, how do i say this, a ha fine tuned,
The story, well that's the main reason i downloaded your mod it's great, and because it involves Samurai's, keep doing Samurai mods or any mod that contains Chinese stuff and i promise i'll keep coming back for. Oh and by the way im gonna download A Samurai's Tale part 2 now i'll post my comments on that one another day. Keep up the good work
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to all. I have just uploaded a demo of my new module to the vault, "Ronin, Kensai of Kyoto". I hope it makes it on time for Christmas as a present to all players and those who supported me during the making of A samurai's tale part I and II. Will post link when i see it up. _________________________ Author of:Ronin, Kensai of Kyoto. Dusk of a Samurai DEMO. Still working on: Dusk of a Samurai.

btw... is it just me? or did somebody watch a little too much ranma 1/2?

i did use the original dialog.tlk, and in trouble shooting tried both. it was only after messing with the 2da files that i got it to work, but it did work for me. and i just finished playing :D i would say that unless other people are having the same problem that it's not a big deal. i'll go ahead and e-mail you a copy of my character and my edited iprpspells.2da so you can compare.
Hi again, puff. The badstref error comes from the dialogue.tlk. Did you place your original dialogue.tlk back into your NWN directory? My new version doesn't replace the dialogue.tlk it just tells NWN to use a new one that's all. And about the 2da files, they are different because they are padded to be compatible with all NWN versions so replacing them actually might cause a problem with custom spells. Again, If you are using my dialogue.tlk from before the update replace it with the original. It might help you out. If that is not the problem email me your character, I'll see what I can do. Thanks.

it's me again. i took some initiative and did some digging. my problem with the spells, and i expect other people's spells as well, is with your iprpspells.2da file in your hak pack. it doesn't match the original at all. i think it's a difference between the 2da files in the expansion packs and the original game. anyway, i copied the entire original (with both xps) iprpspells.2da file and pasted it over that section of your file. i believe i left the new information you added intact and it should work with your custom spells, but i haven't tried it, cause i don't know what i'm looking for.
anyways, if you want my changed version of your hak to test with, i can e-mail it to you. hope this helps :)

hey. i just (11-20-04) downloaded your updated mod and i still get the Bad StrRef using my ring.
My ring is a custom item that grants the wearer the Dragon's Breath: Fire ability. i'm still not sure if this is a expansion pack compatibility issue or not. if you don't mind i'm gonna open up ur mod in the editor and see if i can fix it myself, cause i really wanna play this mod :)
anyway, i thought i'd let ya know it's still a problem. i have't tried using any spells or other abilities yet. my character is a ranger.
if you think it might be something specific to my character, e-mail me and i'll send u a copy.
Actually, it's useable for macs already, technically. I'm playing it on a mac right now. All you have to do is change the .exe to .rar, and you can unzip it just like you unzipped the initial download (Stuffit Expander will do it, for example). Just put the mods in the modules folder, the .hak in the hak folder, and the Sam1.tlk in the tlk folder (you may have to create a tlk folder in the main Neverwinter Nights directory). Ignore the manifest.txt and the nwconinst.exe, as those are part of the PC installer. This will work for any module packaged using the Bioware Auto-Installer doohickey.
How do I make it usable for macs? Oh...right, you can't use exe right? Okay, I'll set up something for the next update then. _________________________ Author of:Ronin, Kensai of Kyoto. Dusk of a Samurai DEMO. Still working on: Dusk of a Samurai.
okay...thanks for telling me. I'll see if I can fix it in the next update...whenever that is. Alright, thanks again. See you. _________________________ Author of:Ronin, Kensai of Kyoto. Dusk of a Samurai DEMO. Still working on: Dusk of a Samurai.

i downloaded it yesterday (nov 16).
the problem is that as i have hotu installed i can choose the weaponmaster in the class-list. he also does ki-damage (propably because the monk from the original nwn-version already has this feat so there's no add-on version needed) but when i tell him to do the whirlwind-attack he actually does nothing.
in the right upper side of the screen a "action-sign" appears for a short moment. this should be showing the whirlwind-attack. in your module it stays black and disappears after a blink of an eye.
apart from that: nice module so far, just some custom portraits would have been great. i'm lookin forward to play the suite.

It should work...oh I just updated the file about two days ago. Did you download it prior to the 13th? if you did, try downloading it again. Because the new update doesn't replace dialogue.tlk and should be fine. If that doesn't solve the problem then I think it is not compatible with a weapons master class. Anyway, let me know if it solves your problem, if not, I'll try to address it the next update. _________________________ Author of:Ronin, Kensai of Kyoto. Dusk of a Samurai DEMO. i just created a weaponmaster and started your very good looking module.
unfortunately the "whirlwind-attack" feat doesn't work.
is this because this is no hotu-module? if so, you should put that info in your readme.txt because i think very many players would choose a katana-weaponmaster to fit in this world.
The story will go on the same because we didn't include any female dialogue support, therefore, if you play as a female the plot won't make sense. _________________________ Author of:Ronin, Kensai of Kyoto. Dusk of a Samurai DEMO. Still working on: Dusk of a Samurai.
Good to read you will be changing the replacing the dialog.tlk. I won't replace that anyway. I do have a question about parts 1 and 2. I noticed it says you have to play a male. What happens if you play a female? Can you play both parts with a female? Thanks.
