Nice story with a twist, but short
Thanks Rolo:)

This was a good proof of concept mod, imo. I'm not really sure how to rate it, since it's so short. But it got me thinking enough to leave a comment. I haven't seen anything else by the author anywhere, but I'd like to see a bigger mod by him.

Its simple, fun, and short.

A nice short module really refreshing. Was easy enough for my Barbarian/Druid started at lvl 2 and finished lvl4. Had to reload once due to an unfortunate critical hit (fair enough).

Very nice module. Plot was easy to follow and the ending was TRULY unexpected.

An excellent module idea - the ending was quite unexpected.

Unfortunately there are a few bugs.

1. I started in a misty wood with no direction. While the end might make this understandable, I probably missed quite a bit.
2. I never spoke to anyone before finding the ruin and then got a journal entry explaining that I _had_ spoken to someone about it...
3. The boss should probably have a shorter perception range. He exited his area and rushed me in the middle of a fight with the skeletons.
4. The journal entry when I killed the boss identified that I had already found the treasures in the room and also found the way down... It seemed a bit early considering point #3 above.

All in all a good short little module that could use some polishing, but the premise was great.

I thought this was great. A very, very nice 'newbie' type of module.

Perfect for showing to people who have never played NWN before, but come over to your house one day and you end up playing it in LAN, that sort of thing. Awesome.

The one gripe would be tha the fights, while really good, are a little over-complicated for first level characters. I mean you have like, two skeleton fighters to tank, followed by a line of 4 sk. archers to deal ranged damage, followed by a sk. bard for support and around the corner a sk. champion to strike when least expected. Wow. Are you taking a 1st level character through their first dungeon, or are you setting up your lines of defense in warcraft? This is just a minor thing though.

Excellent job anyhow, really liked it, will show it to friends, etc.

I played this one a while ago, but I forgot to vote,so here it is. And might I say: it is really a very nice, if short, mod... and the final twist is just unforgettable… a journey to remember, indeed!

Well done for a such a short and simple story. Good looking areas. Had no problems with a 3rd level druid (dire wolf companion and summoned dire boar did most of the fighting for me)

Although I'm not much a fan of hack and slash mod, This one is quite interesting. The little twist at the end is just like the author descripted: unexpected.

A very nice little mod. It is really short but very well done. I had no problems with a level 1 fighter, though I suspect some other classes might die a lot. But the end is something else... it makes the whole experience worthwhile.
Keep them coming.

Played with a 3rd level Fighter/Cleric and thought the enocunters were about right. Boss is tough but should be. I thought your dialog and desriptions were very good. Some kind of cutscene at the end would be a nice finishing touch.

Posted by Blatob at 2004-09-21 01:49:00
Nice and shoe=rt. However you need to tone down encounters a bit. To hard for my 3rd level fighter. Also, you cuold add the end scene at a farm (you are waking up, your father is calling you, there's another dull day infront of you...).

Good first mod. I sent you an e-mail so that I'm not posting a novel here. I have no doubt your future contributions will be well worth looking at.

***minor spoilers ahead***

I agree with Sir Gimpy, nice work. Jumping right into the action ;)

As for the difficulty I have to say that i had to respawn a few times. 4 Skelletons at a time with a lvl 2 Ranger was a bit heavy, because i didn't carry any blunt weapons

But all in all a very nice module to give a new char a few lvls without spending too much time on it

Very good scripting for a short module.

This featured some pretty nifty scripting for a first time module maker. I found it to be a bit difficult at times though, but that's only because I brought in a level 2 sorcerer who has a whopping 12 hitpoints (yay!). I missed out on a couple of conversations, so at the end I was a bit confused as to what exactly was going on, but if you polish it only slightly it could be excellent grounds for a sequel of sorts.

So to summarize: Good job! Hope to see more from you in the future.
