Description
A roleplaying heavy module with medium amounts of combat in three acts. Act I alone has over 40,000 words of dialog (140 page novel) You are pulled from death and find yourself in the laboratory of an evil lich. Your immediate goal is simple; to leave this place and get on with your life. You will travel throughout the continent of Vyzekia and meet interesting people - many who may become potential enemies or allies in the coming war between fundamentalist factions of good and evil. Will you take sides, watch indifferently or take a neutral position and make sure neither side wins?

Yeah, that was the old version. I set the start point at the wrong place... EVERYTHING is fixed with version 0.20b

If you can, download the new version 0.20b and play it. Otherwise, you're okay with version 0.13b, the conversations with the lich in the beginning of the game won't affect anything until ACT II is completed anyway so you're fine. The starting location for the dungeon is next to Haji, so you you didn't miss anything.

*SPOILER WARNING*

I started off in a room with some animals and cages, is that correct? I didn't really get any back story or anything, I just made my way out of the dungeon by clearing it out, and sacrificing the victim on the altar. I didn't see any lich, though I found his ring.

Ah, looks like I read your post wrong, then.

I will download your module soon. Thank you for the link.

He meant being able to complete the *module*, not the series acid.

The reason I released it after finishing ACT I was that the few people (even if it's just four people) that played it would work kinks out of it... Because if ACT I isn't ironed out now - they will cause problems in ACT II and III. If I don't catch them now, then it'll be just that much harder to beta it when I do complete ACT III - and I have a computer and the time NOW to fix them, I won't have time later or maybe even my computer if I don't get a paying job soon...

I understand you want to wait and that's cool. But for others, I think they will still play the mod. It's not much different than a demo, is it? Lots of people play demos that only play up to a certain level.

In any event, come back in a few months. Hopefully I will have completed ACT III by then.

...bridge in the death area... not "bride".

Posted by ACID at 2004-06-05 00:16:00
Thanks! I did do a "last minute" check on another part of the module and forgot to move it back before zipping up.

If you are like me an log on at 19.2k then feel free to open up the mod in the toolset (assuming you don't mind seeing spoilers of area names) and move the start to the bride in the "Death" area.

Otherwise, v.0.131b will have the correct starting location.

I downloaded it and I have to say that I dont think I was in the right position. I was in the middle of a very large map and had enemies killing me from the start. No story or nothing. One suggestion, fire up nwn and start it just before you zip up the file before uploading just to make sure the right start place is correct.

Thanks for the help. Actually, I found out that I don't need to paste it. NWN (at least with SOU/HOTU) save a targa (TGA) file in the NWN directory evertime I press Print Screen.... I'm going to wait until I get my new graphics card... Should be here in a few days. Right now I have a rather old card and without Anti-Aliasing it just looks AWFUL in screengrabs.

I'll update the game in a bit. Sorry I didn't get to it. I spent the day job hunting... Anyone out there hiring? :) I'll move ANYWHERE...

I've had some complaints about the first dungeon from other people too... I guess I'll make it a lot easier for everyone. Sorry, I guess I forgot that not everyone wants a life or death struggle with each fight

ciao!

If you want to take a screenshot just fire up the module and press "Prt Sc". Then load up any picture editing software, make a new file and press Ctrl+V. That should do it. Make sure you save it as a .jpg or the Vault won't like it.

If you want to take a screenshot just fire up the module and press "Prt Sc" (rather small button above Insert on my keyboard). Then load up any picture editing program (even Paint I think), create a new file and press Ctrl+V. That should do it. Make sure you save it as a .jpg file or the Vault won't like it.

Oh, gosh darnit... Thanks for letting me know. I can't believe I forgot to test killing him when I played through the mod a few days ago. The dialog tree is there, the variable check script is probably missing. For some reason, scripts went missing when I upgraded the game. Thought I fixed them all...

I know the dungeon is tough, but I made it through okay several times but I guess I have an advantage knowing what is coming and from where... Try luring your enemies out of the room a few at a time and battling them in the hallway. Also, skip some rooms and then go back to them later once you are stronger. I admit, you'll have to hit your quicksave often... I'll probably thin out a few monsters from that early part of the dungeon and have Narik give you some more experience to help you out. Try it again once I upload version 0.13b

Oh, and yes I will write a better description. I wasn't prepared for a 1,000 word limit and I guess I didn't do a very good job writing everything I wanted to. I'll take some time today to write a proper one as well as take a few screenshots (once I figure out how). Thanks to you too.

This is great! I love constructive feedback!

A bit of a bug almost immediately, I'm afraid.

When speaking with the lady behind the lich's fence (forgot her name), she asks you to kill the lich. Okay... I somehow manage to do that, but when I go back to talk to her, my only conversation options are: 1) I haven't attacked him yet; 2) I will attack him, but I wanted to ask some questions; 3) I'll leave you be.

The next isn't a bug, but a bit of balance issues... if this is meant to be a single person scenario, I die *way* too often, here. Even if I can wield the Scythe I find in the beginning. I understand if the dungeon is supposed to be a very challenging place, but it's a bit too much for only one person.

Sounds pretty good. Could you perhaps add a little about the story and maybe post a screenshot?
