Description
People live their everyday normal lives, fathers work to provide food, mayors establish world order and so forth. You, on the other hand, had a strange gift... or curse. You had natural powers. Powers you were born with, not acquired. The town you used to live in erupted to violence and chaos. Your powers created jealously and hatred, the people wanted you dead. The mayor of your town sided with the angry mob, and his verdict was to have you banished from this place. You were slung on a boat, gagged and tied. Resistance was impossible. You had no idea where these people were taking you, it could have been anywhere... ...Anywhere seemed pretty accurate. You woke up in a small island, completely desserted. Your life is virtually nothing... but that is about to change... Your life changes... as soon as you meet a talking bird...

I like the work and a continuation would be great

Some good ideas here and there.
Completed it in 2005 with a rogue. Tried it this time with a paladin but gave up. Even though I missed the 2nd henchmen, the fights are too tedious and repetitive (monster respawn included). Also a paladin serving an evil necromancer sounds odd except if this is just a nightmare in that case my character is eager to wake up...
5-6: A good effort that fans of the style will find worth the download.

That should have been: Any news on the progress of the next part?
Sorry for forgetting the question mark.

This was great fun. I loved the village, and all the villagers. Great work!

No roleplay; tedious and repetitive fighting; no loot (lvl 5 ftr with chainmail, longsword, and 160 gp); no character development; cool henchmen.

Fun mod. Always been a fun of modified goblins. Cool story line although, it would've been better (in my humble opinion) if the mod ended with the mind controled slave getting his memory back. I understand that you might've not had time to get the module to that point before posting it though.
Yeah, first thing I did when it buggered up was to check the backup file. No luck I'm afraid, but thanks for the help nonetheless.

I wrote this in the comment with my vote, but I'll post it here too in case you miss the other comment...
It might be too late, but have you checked the back-up mod? When you save the mod a back-up should automatically be created in the mod folder - just change the file extension from BackupMod to mod and open it as usual in the toolset. You might have lost a bit, but at least you won't have to redo the whole mod from the beginning.

Sorry for not recently posting. Was halfway through my next chapter when my computer crashed just as I was saving and it seems to have buggered up the module, so I'm gonna have to start from scratch which is a bit of a bugger.
Thanks for the comment Vorpal glad you enjoyed the characters.
Also I hope everyone enjoys christmas tomorrow.
Cyas later.

great mod, very unique beginning, please keep going!!

Overall the mod is decent. The beginning feels honestly way over the top and improvised, than the mod turns into a comedy and finally it gets into and h'n's dark fest. The various twist keeps it interesting and creative, but a part for the them it's fairly basic stuff. Also it's not long and levae you with a cliffhanger. _________________________ The hottest new modules you can't miss - player suggested

Excellent mod, excellent atmosphere, but too short and with no ending (yet). As the start of a series I give it a 9, if it continues like this I'd actually go higher.

This is one of the most entertaining modules I've played in a long, long time. I can't tell you how refreshing it is to see a module author who stubbornly refuses to take himself seriously. I mean, I'm as much a fan of the Forgotten Realms canon as the next role-playing nerd, but actually having a laugh every now and then by mercilessly satirising role-playing conventions is healthy, and should be encouraged.
Melvin the Bizarre and his crotchety familiar, Mortima, had me clutching my sides in a fit of hysterics. Likewise Max Melody's ode to his not-quite-so-beloved Mel, and Jim, the talentless kobold stand-up comedian. The characters were all unique and interesting, which made for a pleasant change from the depressingly frequent production-line urban areas filled with mute commoners. Combat was challenging, yet not annoyingly so; areas were neither too large, nor too small, and the appropriate use of placeables, audio and lighting was obvious without being gaudy or intrusive.
Throughout the whole module, my only criticism would be a noticeable lack of proof-reading -- but then I'm a notorious spelling and grammar Nazi who prides himself on his pedantry in that regard, so don't take offence. A great module for those seeking a little light-hearted relief from a genre that too often tends toward melodrama and pretension. Bravo Sir!

Great humor (love all the little funny details and discworld-like atmo there), a promising story with some nice twists and definitely a fresh and original setting.
It all happens a tad too sudden and aprupt, though, you hardly talk to some NPCs and whoosh - gone again.
Fights are just right, and who could not like a module with the dreaded dire chicken? 8) _________________________ With magic, you can turn a frog into a prince...
With science, you can turn a frog into a Ph.D....
... and still keep the frog you started with.

It took me several tries to get through this module. Mostly because I was a little dense about the tactics, even though it's stated very clearly. Duh! :)
In any event, I finally made it through and I'm pretty sure I found all the quests in Moonstone town, though after the first three (deliver the silk, get the fairy and the kobold jester), they weren't so easily found.
What made the mod most enjoyable was the humor and the intriguing story. Most everyone and everything had a description and that was refreshing and in most cases gave me a chuckle.
I loved the henchmen and their occasional conversation and pop-up statements. The thing I would change there would be making them more like HOTU henches where you can talk to them all normally and access their inventories.
All in all a great module and I do hope you make Chapter 2!

WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD!
A very good mod. I can't wait for the sequel to see if I get saved from the evil path I chose(? more like forced to take after going thru the back door of the cave) by my new friend the wizzards daughter. The burning dwarf henchman(Scorch) was funny but got himself killed off too early. I told him not to go near those exploding barrels! The dire chickens were an excellent foil for the Orc henchman. I saved his but quite a few times from them. But to have the goblins throw some bomb/potion that does horrid wilting at the end is a bit much for my level 5 fighter to stand. I hope you come out with the sequel soon.
Thanks for the rating and comments Rawbee. Sorry about not placing in the henchman readme (see my previous comment about that).
Next update I'll make the encounters at the later stages a little less difficult and I'll add the readme.

I would echo Berliads excellent review.
Additional thoughts:
It would be nice to have my henchmen respawn as fast as the spiders do. I played a monk, and lost my henchmen fairly quickly and then had a very tough time with combat (not impossible though). My biggest problem was the lack of equipment and healing items. lvl 4 with no equipment!! This was a little too tough in my opinion, a low level economy is fine, but having a woodsmen outfit with no other equip seemed a little too hard.
Also it said I should read the henchmen read-me. Where is that?
I did really enjoy the varied henchmen and the humour really added to the fun. Looking forward to chapter 2, although I won't hold my breath as it looks like this chapter was completed in 2003. Thanks again.

Thanks for you feedback Berliad much appreciated. I was hoping you didn't notice the invisible pop-up dialogues, but that just shows how limited my skills at scripting are. I will add the henchmen readmes later on (I think I included them at one point, then scrapped it because I updated my module constantly, changing the henchmen's stats and personaility).
Cheers to everyone who voted. Glad to know people enjoyed playing my module.
