Bruce Campbell was Ash in Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness; all directed by Sam "Spideman" Rami. Check them out.
Not necessarily a character type; more of an attitude.

I liked the letter from the Halfling Wizard and the Book of Absolution, but this feels like it's just way more dungeon crawling than I'm looking for. I don't think I'm going to finish it. Posting the traps/roleplay/hack breakdown would help people screen this out.
If, as you said in another post, you "meant the ... character to have an 'Ash' style attitude" (whoever that is), it's worth telling us in the Readme, so we have a clue what sort of PC to bring in. Not having a clue, I'd pulled a character together who doesn't fit that type at all.
Small gameplay flaw (to me): stirges don't mix with single low-level characters in areas without healing magic.

This mod was very entertaining. I liked the balance between humor and serious plot. I too wished for more opportunities to sell items, but at least it made sense. Experience rewards for difficult fights got a little strange near the end; easy fights very rewarding, tough fights net 50 exp points; but nothing that can't be lived with. Enjoyable mod all-in-all, make more!

Thanks for the feedback gilknut.
I meant the plot to be serious, but your character to have an "Ash" style attitude.
Sorry about the length estimate; I went low-end because I didn't want to promise too much material, only to come up short.

Well -- I made it through at last, all three parts. I think
your estimate of 10 - 15 hours is a bit optimistic...
double it, and you're getting close.
I don't know what to say about this mod, really -- it had a
certain attraction, otherwise I never would have finished
it -- but it's a strange one. First of all; I'm surprised
you didn't put it in the Humorous/Parody category. At the
beginning of the mod the plot seems serious enough, but it
seems to me you went more and more "comedian" as the thing
progressed. The result was that I stopped taking the plot
serious at all, and you lost me about halfway as to what
was really going on. I'm not sure the mix of humour/drama
really works all the way here, it's as if you didn't quite
make up your mind yourself. That said; at times your
dialogue was really hysterically witty, I'll give you that.
Anyway; the amount of work put into this is very
impressive -- the mod works very well technically. At times
the hack n' slash gets a bit overwhelming for my taste,
though -- and the lack of trading posts gets very annoying
after a while. You accumulate hordes of magical items and
precious gems, and your inventory gets so full you have to
drop valuable stuff before you get to sell it. I see the
logic of this, the place being what it is, but still...
Anyway, it's mostly an entertaining mod in my opinion, and
well enough done to definitely make me wanna play your next
mod, if there is one. Thanks for sharing it!
