Description
This hakpack will allow you to add a VFX mask to the bandit model. Just a little something I made a while back. I feel it’s a very useful addition and I wanted to share it with the rest of the community. Feedback or suggestions are always welcome…

Demo module included.

Yeah, that's true.

A decent compromise might be to just make a rather oversized mask that has some thickness to it, and then apply that on the fly. On smaller heads, it'd be a little thick, but that's not a huge issue. Most of the standard Bioware heads are roughly the same size and fit withing a few ingame "centimeters" of each other, so you could still get a pretty good effect with this setup. The fact that it vanishes on death would be good, too... great system for PCs to disguise themselves on PWs without the obnoxious "Magically obscuring helmet" thing.

adding the ability to attach this vfx to a pc head is not really an option. the mask is designed for this specific model and does not align properly with pc heads, not even the hooded one.
that does not mean masks can't be made for pc heads, but to do that properly, you would actually need a different mask model for each head in the game because they are all shaped differently.
(of course, a few head models are similar enough that the mask would align properly, so you would not need one for each head, but still, you would need a lot!)

But yeah, tried it out, really nice, and having the mask vanish on death is fine and not that big a deal. Now... if you could make a mask item for PCs to put on/remove a mask... Hall of Fame material, right there.

vfx are removed immediately upon creature death. i believe the game engine deletes these purposefully to maintain efficiency. i don't think we can get around that.

They look very nice indeed in game, and certainly add to the menacing aspect of a bandit. My only wish would be if you could work it so that the VFX remains on the bandits in death. ATM in your demo mod the decay time is long enough that once the bandit has been killed immediately the VFX falls away. It would be kind'a cool if it didn't. (not sure that is poss?)

Thanks for sharing this with us, another really nice addition to the NWN gaming experience. :)

Nice idea... haven't looked at it yet, but if it's a VFX setup, you should really look into making a mask item that PCs can use to toss a mask over themselves... would be great.
