The NWN Alignment Manager (or simply NAM) allows you to easily change your character's alignment in whatever module you're playing. Primarily intended to counter unjustified alignment shifts while playing single-player modules (and we've all suffered from those), the NAM also enables you to bypass alignment restrictions and create multiclass combinations like Bard/Paladin/Blackguard with ease.
Although designed for single-player games, the NAM also works in multiplayer session, but it can't be used while playing on persistant world servers; so there's no need to panic, my dear PW admins and DMs. :)
Installation of the NAM is very easy, and the extensive ReadMe explains everything you need or want to know. It *should* work with all version of NWN and not require any expansions, but it definitely works with v1.68 regardless of what expansions you have installed. Since the NAM doesn't modify any existing files but simply adds a few, it works perfectly fine with all the other stuff you might have in your override folder, and also all modules using HAK packs.
You only need to download either the .RAR or the .ZIP archive. Both are only 384 KB small (uncompressed archives; rather pointless to pack something that small) and include the ReadMe.pdf file.
Updated to Bioware patch 1.69!!!
Both downloads (.ZIP and .RAR) now contain both the new version requiring 1.69 (see below for changes), and also the old version still running with 1.68 for those players who didn't get a patch for their respective language. The files for both version are in two seperate folders, NAM_168 and NAM_169. Simply copy the files of your prevered version into the override folder. If you already have the old version installed and now want to use the v1.69 version, simply overwrite all files when prompted.
The updated 1.69 version now displays the according Alignment Titles (e.g. Crusader, Destroyer, Free Spirit) if you character qualifies for such a title. But more important and convenient is that in multiplayer games, the character who alignment is to be changed doesn't have to leave the party anymore. He can change his alignment all the way he wants without affecting the alignments of other player characters.

I think I love you!
Playing a druid and not wanting to be simply Good or Evil, I sometimes had trouble maintaining my alignment. Well, not any more. Thanks to you.
Many thanks!

Functionality + Ease of Use = JOY!
This is a wonderful tool if you're playing an alignment-sensitive character class (pally, druid, bard, monk, etc.) in a module in which you feel gives out senseless alignment shifts. Also, It has great documentation! Kudos to the author of this little gem, and thanks for placing this on the vault for the whole community to enjoy. Highly reccomended! _________________________ Regards,

As far as I know, there already are build-in console commands to modify your PC's alignment. I don't know what those commands are, exactly, but Google is your friend. :)

Who'd have ever thought so many people would be so grateful to a Gangster, but No1, you did a fantastic job here! Thank you for this wonderful, handy tool.
I have to admit that I mostly forgot about the NAM - blame NWN2. :p
Anyway, I'm going to try to stop by here more regularly in case people need help or have suggestions. And if there's something urgent, please feel free to PM me on the BioWare boards: username = Gangster No.1

If you are still watching, Gangster Numero Uno...
The NAM is EXACTLY how a hakpak should work: 1) operate independently of the internal game software and 2) do the dang job intended.
2 out of 2 = 100%! boo hoo.. too bad the vault only allows a ten :D

I'm having difficulty using this. In the override directory I have a folder called alignment manager, within it are two folders for version 1.68 and 1.69, and within that folder are the filers. In Debug Mode, I enter in the code to spawn in the time, it says success, and nothing happens. This is in chapter 2 and 3 of HotU, as well as Act II of the Aielund Saga. No item spawns although it says success.
I tried moving the 1.69 files from the folder into the override main folder itself, and the same result happened. Success with no item spawning.
Sorry for replying so late, but I've been without access to the Internet for half a year. I'm back now, so here goes.
@Elhanan: Yes, it is completely and utterly safe. Problems with stuff in the override folder happen if original game resources are overwritten, which is not the case with the NAM. _________________________ "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. Very nice useful tool, very good documentation. _________________________ My shoes are too tight and I have forgotten how to dance.
I like the intended purpose of this device, but am wary of anything going into the Override directory due to the myriad of bug reports coming from such additions. In the words of Sir Lawrence; Is it safe?

Simply put: this rocks. It's very easy to use, and haven't had a single problem yet. Finally, bard/palladins w/ ease!
Just to let you know, I haven't abandoned the NAM. However, I haven't had a single complaint or bug reported, which is why there aren't any updates yet. Good news, huh? ^ ^

Vinchenzo made a post here.
Plz check out my entries. I'm currently making a few simple modules, designing 3 special characters, and hope to someday be good this stuff.
This is Vinchenzo, finishing his post with the following advice:
Don't use Latin improperly (Lupis means grey, Rufus is red, Canid is dog, so on.) Furries annoy me with their improper usage of such. And I'm a furry!!! Ugh...
Don't vote for Beta things unless told they are finished, unless posted specifically by the author.
Don't abuse the vote and post function, don't vote for your own/friends stuff just to get a high vote. Don't flame vote either just to be an ass.
There is a voting system for how the points are used, even I forget, but we should follow it (and tattoo it to our forehead, lol)

Excellent and useful tool for all fans of single player mods. Should be in every override folder of dedicated players, along with the character customization hak!
@Ssendam: I've searched the vault before submitting the NAM (which wasn't supposed to be posted at all but served as a tool for myself) and I found a few scripts and erfs dealing with alignment in a bigger scope. But I didn't find anything that shifts alignment only without additional functionality. If you do have links to other stuff like this, please share it. :)
@Gregg1974: That was my intention when I decided to submit the NAM: make it as easy to use as humanly possible. :) Thanks for your vote. _________________________ "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.
