This tileset is one I started working on when earnestly trying to learn 3d modeling and texturing, sometime in June/July. I unfortunately didn't get the energy to keep on working on it but I thought maybe someone has a use for it - or heck, perhaps would like to work on it further. Either way, here it is.
The water village tileset was supposed to be just that - a village on water. The idea was inspired by Indonesian Stilt houses. However, just making bridge crossers for over the water took up so much time (considering I was learning) and now all there is is bridges - which, to be fair, is still pretty neat. There are not too many known bugs with this tileset at the moment and the walkmesh and pathfinding are known to work fine.
Thank you, Ryuujin, for helping me with this and showing me that it was possible for me to do this after all.
Note: Because this isn't even close to a complete and finished set, I'm not providing support for it.
There were two other buildings in there, yeah. However, I'd worked on them last and so I didn't feel they were really release quality (they didn't even have doors). Since I may pick this up again, I'll want to rework them completely.
Cool concept and screenies. We've got a city on DN based on the idea of a bunch of floating docks and boats latched together in the iddle of a big sea. [think waterworld]. It was going to be used as a seed for a new mod, but we ended up just sticking it in the main mod. The city is about 5 areas, but it's not all publicly open. We only use the BW city exterior tileset. I can show you around sometime if you swing by though. [note I'm still working insane hours and not around much for a couple more weeks].
Man this has so much potential. It really is a shame that you are abandoning it. If I knew how I would pick this up in no time. Like I said what a shame. _________________________ Eagles may soar but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
