Title  City Exterior Grass Removal
Author  Janus
Submitted / Updated  12-28-2002 / 01-19-2003
Category  Tilesets
Expansions  NWN - 1.29 or lower
Description
Have you ever looked at the City Exterior Tileset and said, 'Why is there so much grass everyone? This is a city!'? Well I did, and so I decided to get rid of some of it. This modification does not overwrite any default tiles provided in the tileset, it just adds several to it. This set includes all the building with grass removed from their base. Also added to this set are some tiles with grass added to them. They are the raised city exterior tiles. I wanted to really simulate a wall. To use them you have to cycle through the raised tiles by 'erasing' on the wall section, and it will go through the available tiles until a grass one comes up. It makes for a good wall with grass on one side, cobble on the other. Also I added the City Gate, and both Elevated Towers with grass on the outside. UPDATE: 1/19/03. Added the raised tiles that have water near them at the request of someone. This should complete the set (So far anyway :D)

This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 1 that made this score of 7.

Love the hakpak! One problem is, there's no grass on
raised wall corners, inside or out. Makes it look kind of
funky.

Hey, I think in cities medieval or fantasy there's always
some grass coming from between the road stones... but I
quess then again that's something you new worlders can't
possibly know... ;)

I didn't include them in this distribution because they
aren't mine, and I haven't spoken to Thallion about
combining our work. It is very easy to add the itp
information to this release though, the ITP info from
Thallion is only one line.

The .set is a little more complicated, but it to can be
done. Perhaps a tutorial will be made sometime soon for
that purpose. *shrug*

I like the way you're distributing it, and that people have
a chance to look under the hood and see what goes into a
hakpak (if they so choose). Those that don't though, may
feel more comfortable with it already in a hakpak.

Are you considering adding Thallion's alley crossers in this
hakpak? I think they're great, and while I try not to
overuse them, I'd hate not to have the option. :D

Inviz, I left the grassy ones there too for those who like
em :) More variety that way :)

Lawnmower, At first no.. then I pulled it down and redid
it.. the walkmesh defines what sounds get played (and
other things).. at first there was grass growing on the
tiles heh.. so when I fixed that it fixed the sounds too.

Great job but the real question is, did you make it useful
by removing the grass sounds one makes when walking on the
areas you've replaced with stone? If not, best remove this
hak until you do. Does no good walking on stone when you
can still hear grass being walked on.
