Description
The purpose of this package is to demonstrate the viability of attaching wings to NPCs using the 'wings node + 2da + utc' method. This method is not the same as that for attaching wings to PCs. Wings attached by this method retains all animations inherent in the wings .mdl file and you can see the wings react in game when the NPC does certain actions such as fighting and dying. The wings model used here was included in the retail NWN game but Bioware had apparently cut the feature due to time constraints. Please READ the readme.txt file, I want to make that clear. ;-]

- Added angelic wings into the package so you can go experiment yourselves. Angel wing texture by Aaon Graywolf. - Updated succubus model, removed normal forearm/hands/shins/feet. Replaced with human female model parts. - Fixed a problem with the topless succubus model. Thanks to Takamura for spotting it.

I have a Question.
If i wanted to make a characacter at a server where you can not import a character, and if i wanted this character to have wings on the server, what shuld i do. I canno´t export and then fix it at the gff editor, and then Import it to the server. it´s impossible, but what if i wanted to make my wings at the begining, at the "customise character" what would i do then? I canno´t export-use the gff editor and import the character to this server, i will have to make the character in "one go", (if you understand)

What shall i do?

Okay, I apologize because I know this is probably a very
basic question for you guys...and you've already answered
it I'm sure. But if I wanted to make an NPC with the
regular "Human" model have angelic wings...what exactly
would I do?

It would be beyond amazing if you could please help me out.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I wanted the Succubus
model with animated wings in Singleplayer so I extracted
the hakfile content into the override. The skins (topless
and normal) and the bodyparts work but there are no wings.
I tested it on a modified Character who uses the Succubus
model. There is a Succubus with wings model on nwvault, too
but these wings are not animated. What should I do?

For those people who have problems with the topless versions not displaying the correct skins, here's what you do: extract c_dmsucubus.tga and/or c_nymph.tga to NWN\override folder, then remove them from the hak file (use the hak utility in NWN\utils folder). Now it works properly and you only need one or two files in override.

I have tried over and over to get these to work. I also
tried the PC Wings and non of them seem to work for me.

It just came to my attention that custom creatures with non-zero Wings value will have the value set to zero again after editing their stats (I thought it was only reset when you make a copy). So, to avoid headache: set the Wings value after you've finalized the custom creature, then export it so you don't need to fiddle in modules\temp0 all the time. When needed import the erf.

Ok folks, thanks to the good work by scooterb on the 3DS plugin, I've uploaded a new succubus model. It uses normal human female model parts instead of the hairy arms/legs. So for those people who prefer a more hairless/clawless succubus, check it out. It should be online in ~8hrs.

Note: There is a bit of skin tone mismatch between the succubus model and the new parts. I tried to get it as close as possible, and it should be good enough to use in game.

Important: If for some reason the hak didn't do what you expected, extract the resources into NWN\override folder. Backup any existing files before you overwrite. HAKs are sometimes finicky..

Just to make things clear: it is possible to add nodes to new models via mdl2ascii. Some people were thinking you could only do it in 3DS, that's not so.

I'm sorry if I passed myself off as a modeller, 'cause I'm not. If you look at the readme it should become clear that there isn't a lot of modelling work required to get this thing working.

I think you're better off getting help from someone who's more of a graphic artist than I.

you making a skin of Nei from the old phantast star
games?..prefer the skin of either nei from phantasy star 2

Each time you associate a module with a new hak you should do a full build. Also check in override folder for c_dmsucubus.tga and c_nymph.tga. If they exist move them elsewhere. Do not combine the two haks into one, use one or the other.

Y'all should see a new hak from Komodo soon. It will use a different method to do this. I agree with what some people have said that this method is a bit too complicated. However this is how Bioware originally envisioned it. I just brought the concept from NWN forums to here. ;-]

Ceros! Please upload the angel wing version too. Many
people here are not good with the toolset and editors and
wouldn't be able to do this on their own. :)

FYI, wingmodel.2da is useful for this method. That is, you can call a model c_wingsan.mdl with the corresponding texture, and the game will use that if you change the Wings value in UTC to 02. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out the readme file.

I may upload an update later which includes the angel wings, if Aaon gives me permission hehe (texture was his work).

Please note this is for NPCs and creatures only. It will only work on models that are complete, i.e. not PC models with interchangeable parts and a base skeleton. To see how Aaon and I got wings onto PCs see the Winged PCs for DM Use package.
