Ventriloquism Spell
This first level Wiz/Sor, second level Bard Spell is a fun spell. It allows the caster of this spell to make it sound like the words or sounds he/she said or make are emanating from either an NPC, useable placeable, or PC friend. A save is made to see if it succeeds.
I have everything here for the builder (hak, spell.2da, iprp_spells.2da, icons for the spell, spell.nss, tlk, hak, DEMO module, the OnPlayerChat required for this to work, and an .erf of the scrolls to put into your own module).
A huge thanks to Mannast for his help with scripting this otherwise this could not have come to fruition. Also, a big thanks too for meaglyn for spotting errors and correcting them in the initial scripting and to those others too who gave their input on the forum (andgalf & Tarot_Redhand).
I believe Mannast may still make some minor changes in this spell, so check back for any future changes. Otherwise this spell works very well. Doesn't really impact much game-wise, but it is fun to use. Perhaps someone can script it do do stuff like make monsters go investigate where the noise came from or certain words (insults heard) can cause the monster to attack the source of the noise.
"Thadeaus the Bard is in trouble again. He watches his Half-Orc online friend working his way through the dungeon towards him with the intent to smash him for the jokes he made about Half-Orcs. He uses his ventriloquism spell to make it sound like the barrel nearest to his friend is speaking... out of curiosity his friend is diverted towards the unusual barrel...having forgotten he was about to do some serious harm to his PC".

It's a bit weird to do string s2ndChar = GetStringRight(GetStringLeft(sSaid, 2), 1);
when you have GetSubString();
besides you never use variable s2ndChar in the script.
That is true - and should get cleaned up in the future. The script was setup as an example script to a request in the forum and I cobbled it together. Then found a few moments to actually get it to work. Defintely a work in progress, but much thanks to Imtherealthing for posting it.
Don't know what that all means or how that impacts this spell....but Mannast could look into it. I am no scripter. Is there anythig you think you can do to improve this spell? If so please let me know. I will reupload a new version.
Well met.
Having a voice come from an object to distract an incoming foe is a really neat idea, and very useable. Would be fun to see it in action too.
