9th Level Wiz/Sor SPELL: "Prismatic Sphere"
I want to thank Clangeddin, kevL_s, Lokey, Kamiryn, and andgalf for their help! Thanks all!
Prismatic Sphere
Caster Level(s): Wiz 9 / Sorc 9
Innate Level: 9
School: Abjuration
Descriptor(s): None
Component(s): Verbal, Somatic
Range: Personal
Area of Effect / Target: Self (with effects on the first attacker)
Duration: 1 round / level or until discharged
Additional Counter Spells: Dispel Magic
Save: Reflex partial, Fortitude partial, Will partial (varies by effect)
Spell Resistance: Yes
Description:
Prismatic Sphere surrounds the caster with a radiant multicolored sphere of defensive energy, which unleashes devastating effects on the first creature to successfully strike the caster. These effects occur in the following sequence:
1) Blinding Light: Creatures with fewer than 8 Hit Dice must succeed on a Reflex save (DC 20) or be blinded for 10 rounds.
2) Elemental Fury: Creatures that attack you must make a Fortitude save (DC 20) or take 1d10 points of damage from each of the following damage types: acid, fire, cold, electrical, sonic, divine, positive, negative, piercing, slashing, and bludgeoning.
3) Instant Death: Creatures must succeed on a Will save (DC 20) or die instantly.
4) Wyvern Poison: On a failed Fortitude save (DC 20), attackers are afflicted with Wyvern Poison, dealing 1d6 Strength damage per round for 6 rounds or until cured.
5) Confusion: Creatures that fail a Will save (DC 20) become confused for 2d10 rounds.
6) Petrification: Creatures must succeed on a Reflex save (DC 20) or be permanently turned to stone.
The sphere dissipates after the first attack, releasing its stored energy. This spell does not block physical attacks or magic, but its retaliatory effects serve as a potent deterrent to those who dare attack the caster.
Please ensure you use the 2da lines that will fit into your own. Adjust accordingly. I include an .erf that has the blueprints for the scroll and scripts. Please feel free to adjust this (my stuff) as you wish in any way. Even upload a better version.

Thanks. I appreciate your kind words and that you can use this spell makes me happy. I don't take all the credit. The others get credot I mentioned. It was not an easy spell to make. Not perfect nor like the PnP (Pen and Paper version) but close enough.
So... the tabletop 3.x version of this spell can be useful because it creates a small 'safe zone' that lasts 10 min/lvl, blocks enemy spells/ranged attacks/other attacks, the effects' save DCs can be boosted by normal means (to 30s if not 40s), AND it doesn't go 'poof' after one successful attack.
But here, what you have is a rnd/lvl spell with low (for a 9th lvl spell) fixed DCs that evaporates after the first attack. i.e. a mook swings at you and it's gone. Or you hope that it might come in handy in a boss fight ... except the DC's are so low that any boss enemy that's worth using a lvl 9 slot on will make the saves quite easily (and again, the spell evaporates after a single attack).
At the cost of a 9th level slot.
Hard pass.
You can always change the duration or DC or any part of the spell script to suit your needs. The PnP version was hard to script. This was the best I could do (and those who worked on this) because of game mechanics. If you can improve it and upload a better version please do.
Keep in mind, you can always memorize more than one of them in your slots or buy scrolls. It is pretty powerful. I say it keeps good game balance. Compare it to the damage done by the EPIC Spell - Hellball. A one time shot spell. My spell here is in a way more powerful when you consider just the amount of damage the elemental and physical damage it does to a failed save on that part of the spell alone.
The attacker has to roll against 6 attacks..I'd say that is pretty powerful
Drop a Balor into the Demo Mod I have made....see how it does against this spell.
Thanks man....some people never contribute to the vault and yet have the nerve to complain when someone does. I appreciate your rating.
Well met.
Another leveling of the scores. Do keep up the amazing work. Really do like the animations.
