World of Greyhawk - Tavern of Hidden Tales - for Enhanced Edition NWN (Beamdog/Steam)
ToHT is a PvE server based on Gary Gygax’s Adventures of Greyhawk. (God bless Gary - RIP)
This world is mostly a modified version of Raine’s World of Greyhawk (credit to Raine and WoG team)
The spirit of this server is to promote cooperative play and give players a persistent world to play their favorite builds against epic challenges without DM intervention on how you should play.
IF you prefer to play on a DM moderated server with restricted party groups (all within 3 levels of any character), item restrictions, character leveling speed, etc... please visit:
https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwnee/module/gameworld/world-greyha...
We only have one major rule at THoT... don’t be a troll to other players (otherwise its a simple CD Key/IP Ban).

EASY TO JOIN: ...for newbies and all of us coming back to NWN from years past.. :)
For player convenience, a single zip file is provided for all Hak and related files... Easy and not confusing as other servers.
Instructions (PC/MAC):
In the Documents folder - BACKUP your Neverwinter Nights folder to New/Clean folder - I make a new one on the desktop - for ease (The reason for this is to keep your data from other worlds or single player - I use multiple folders on the desktop for many different Persistent worlds) Then ERASE the Neverwinter Nights folder in documents - Especially if coming from any another Persistent World. This is required as there are many different versions of the hak/tlk files that will cause erratic results (like trolls not dying etc - haha) or it will fail to load.
Start the game. Play the solo introductory (prelude) original game module. Quit right after entry (this creates clean folders).
Download the file below and overwrite those folders in the ...Documents/Neverwinter Nights/
Start your game. Multiplayer. Find Tavern of Hidden Tales Server. Join - Your in!
Please read all message boards when you enter. There are many changes to gods, spells, items, etc...
The Hommlet Portal is the best place to start... (Village of Hommlet / Temple of Elemental Evil.)
You get a DM tool that allow you to jump to level 2 (as lvl 1 is painful). This is a great server for solo or with friends... that has all the adventures packed into one. Light RP - if you run into others (no offensive or silly names please :)
For great NWN EPIC character builds (to 40): (this takes the pain out of figuring out a strong characer)

"In Documents ERASE ALL sub folders of Neverwinter Nights (music/hak/etc) - Especially if coming from any another Persistant World."
This is very bad advice, even if you wanted your players to have a clean override folder because the game itself has a few files it needs in that folder.
You also should seriously consider using Nwnsync.
I corrected the wording and it would be bad advice if you had invested time in the main module... or wanted to play other PWs too. IF you are playing PWs then the instructions are fairly moot as you know what you are doing. It also MUST be a clean install as there are many conflictions of different versions of the HAK/TLK files. (you should know that)... Also, NWsync has a maximum file size of <25Meg per fie (they don't recomend of that). Some of these files are up to 600Meg (from the CEP 265). So that is out. IF you are on PWs then the move/paste (to a different backup folder is the fastest by far) - ALSO, you saying "the game itself need files in that folder" is wrong too... AS the game CREATES these folders when you start a new solo adventure (prelude) - like my instructions had said.
But, for the seasoned vet (or people coming from another PW) backing up your folders is definitely the first step. That is the proper advice. The rest is the same as I described.
Try downloading Ravenloft - Prisoners of the Mist PW... then tell me how much it modified NWN. LoL. This is why ALL folders gotta go.
but, YOU should know this as you're a contributor... helpful replies are more constructive than just blanket statement... Not to mention limits on NWsync and Hak conflicts.
I started playing NWN in 2002 when it was lauched... still have my three old boxes and the Platinum edition too. I have just taken over a 10 year hiatus.. been out of the loop when I came back. Now with the new resurgence with the new enhanced edition (BeamDog)... I jumped back into it a few months ago... This is why I made easy detailed info for people who are new or have come back to it from long ago.
If you're open to advice - this download of almost 1Gb largely consists of obsolete versions of CEP2.
Since the latest CEP2 is backward-compatible, players shouldn't need to install any of those files.
The remaining files are unlikely to suffer from version control issues, but, if they do, it would be safer for players to back up the individual files affected.
Of course, it is possible to back up all the game files, then delete them, but that seems a lot of work, a bit risky, and would prevent players from playing any modules bar your own for the duration.
Thanks Proleric. The file is 99% just the CEP265 (962MB) then added with one hakpak mod and two tlk (poison/wand craft). (just made it easy - one file)
I have no idea exactly which hak file the module uses as a dependancy in the CEP265. My programming skills are very rusty now haha... getting better lately.
On my mac (I use PC too) I have the NWN PW folders (Arelith, Ravenloft, ToHT, others) on my desktop of the PW that I use. I just cmd-a (cntrl-a PC) then drag and drop (move) to the doc/NWN folder... it takes about 1 sec.. Then to remove, I select all and move back to their corresponding folders (easy to see as they are empty) I can switch from any PW instantly.
I thought thats how everyone does it... :)

I don't recall giving anyone permission to use our module for their own Persistant World. This is bad form.
Check your entry under permissions. You need to make it clear what can and can't be done with this module. I sympathise that it wasn't your original intention when this was put up on here but currently they haven't broken the permissions that were specified.

Yeah, this is in pretty poor form.
Basically, you have taken the old World of Greyhawk (WoG) offline mod, and twisted it into an Online PW - without asking permission.
That is a big no-no.
Shame on you.
I would expect you to now offline this, and completely make your own areas, scripting, etc - essentially your own PW.
I hope DM Wise, from WoG (Online PW that is much better than this due to many new areas that are not in this one) contacts those that run this site and gets your entry taken down.
MODERATOR COMMENT
@WebShaman Tarot Redhand is a moderator. Rather than argue, please refer to the site guidelines:
https://neverwintervault.org/content/custom-content-authorship-guidelines
To reiterate, whether intended or not, DM Wise has given permission for the work to be reused.
As authors, DM-Vexxed and DM Wise may wish to arrive at an amicable agreement, or else refer the matter to site Admin/Moderators.
Everyone else please stand aside.
I'm zen with it. When I gave permission to use the offline version, it was merely for that. To play offline in singleplayer, or a local password protected session, or to modify as anyone sees fit. However, I did not give permission for it to be used as a cloned PW version for public online play. If DM Vexxed is the subject who I think he is, he and I did discuss this, and he gave me assurances that he would not do so.
I suppose my biggest beef is that now there is a lesser, inferior version of the WoG PW out there, one that will contain bugs, things that were never fixed, it may have issues with the server side hak we used, and so it will not receive the same support that the creators of the world would be able to give it. But such is life.
And I grow old, and there are more important things to consider than a cloned version of WoG. No, I will be zen, and I shall remain DM Wise, and fade into the West.
This is only haks for cep and tlk files and erfs for cep, there's no actual module files for greyhawk in this download so this is functionally useless as there's no module content to load
File list is as follows:
