*Updated 8/17 to add the new greatswords*
Here are the HD assets that Beamdog has put on the Steam Workshop so that our friends using Beamdog's launcher or eventually GOG have access to them.
Each entry is a self contained override so you can pick and choose what you want to use. Just unzip and dump the files (important: NOT the folders) into your Documents override folder or add them to your module's hak.
Posting based on permission received previously for HD Aribeth and confirmation from Niv. If Beamdog at any point would like to own the entry that'd be great.
Please note that these will only work for the Enhanced Edition version of the game due to science.

Finally!

I take Steam Workshop for granted. Nudge me on Discord if I ever fall behind. <3
Thanks for the effort and time bringing these here.

I put the great axe models in the override, but they appear as chrome in the toolset. The models themselves are showing, but it seems the texture is not being properly displayed. Any clue as to what is going on? And yes, I am using the EE.
I think I'm having a similar issue Jedijax. I'll send a note.
Thank you!
So... guess no one else is having such an issue? I think even the release over at the workshop holds no mention of it...
I honestly can't tell if they are missing textures or if the specular is f*d up (made for the upcoming improved lighting model maybe?)
My eyes are too old for this.
I'm thinking the same thing. I can see traces of color in each variation, but the overall texture still shows as chrome, which would mean the overlay is working while the base isn't. Never learned the fancy maps talk. What I don't get is why no one else is talking about it. Is it just you and I having this issue? Like... really?
What was updated in the files? I downloaded them on the 8th and site says they updated on the 12th.
Nothing content wise. I simply put a flag on the project so it got bumped to the front page.
FP!
For those having issues with the brightness, its the specularity in the alpha channel of the Normal Map. Needs to be reworked or toned down. Inverting it would do the trick though you would lose the shine.
edit: The correct fix would be to copy the contents of the the _s suffix map to the alpha channel of the _n Suffix Map and save out the file
The Normal Map's alpha channel is what houses the specularity. Hope this helps though I've only had time to look at the longsowrds atm.
Thank you for the input but that's chinese to me. I know how to rotate textures images, tho.
I asked Beamdog at the time this stuff was uploaded at Steam about why those of us who bought the game from Beamdog and don't use steam don't get the fancy updated items. They said it is already in the game. Guess that was a lie. So we have to go find all the upgrades that steam gets and load and fix for ourselves?? Not happy about that! Poor choice there BeamBog!!
I'm going to make an assumption here. When the first pack came out, I figured it was only uploaded over there because you need to have bought the game and installed Steam in order to download it and use it. The Vault has always been free, meaning, you don't need to have Steam installed to download content, meaning, you don't need to have a legit copy of the game. Add to that, the Vault has been pretty much left after the whole EE craze. Most people I see commenting in the workshop are people I never heard of. If Madhatter hadn't uploaded these packs here, no one who wasn't over ther would have even known about them. As for the inclusion of these in the game, that's definitely not the case right now. I always saw this EE as a BETA that keeps developing. Most of the new content is still being added over the patches, rather than on release. I figure they won't really do much unless it is profitable.
grom, they have mentioned that once the game is truly remastered that it will be set up in a more official manner. These are just tests and first attempts in the long road to make the game look better.
As it happens, if you buy EE direct from Beamdog, you don't need Steam to play, but get a free Steam key, so you can download content like this from Steam Workshop and (optionally) move it into the Documents folders to play without using the Steam client. Or you can download it from the Vault. No problem.
Steam and Vault are complementary, serving different audiences. I agree that Steam mostly seems to be drawing in new faces - they could probably use more help from old hands in the Steam forum.
Realized I didn't vote. I am obviously very pro-remastered NWN.
Regardless, IMO Beamdog should do releases on both Steam and the Vault to maximize audience and hash out anything that needs attention. I don't agree with grom's post, but I think what I am saying is in best interest with everyone. I get the feeling from Phil on the Friday streams that he wants to push everything on Steam. If true I just disagree with that strategy. EE needs a unified effort that can only be done with all sides engaging.
Updated with new greatswords.
Do they have the same issue?
Truthfully I haven't looked at them yet. I uploaded them for all the anti-Steamites. I'll go look now.
Ok, just tested these (and went back and checked out the greataxes with different lighting). They all work and have textures. Some of the specular maps (the ones that make stuff shiny) are definitely too shiny but otherwise things look good. I especially liked the longswords.
Wait, what? Did you upload a new version or something? The great axes in the toolset still look like chrome. Or is it just a look in the toolset and they look fine in the game itself? Gonna go check them in game now. EDIT. Nope, they still look like chrome in the game, no texture at all. I tried testing with a pre-emptied override folder; still no joy. So, did you upload a new version of the Great axes?
There is only one version of the greataxes.
I had two thoughts:
(1) Did you turn off any patch haks you have going on? I hadn't initially.
(2) Have you increase the MaxTextureMemory in NWN.ini to 2047?
Ok, first off, thank you for taking the time to troubleshoot with me. Unfortunately, changing the texture memory limit from 64 to 2047 and even 4096 did nothing. I don't use any patch haks, and am testing on a completely hak free testing module. Still chromey: http://prntscr.com/kkmvf7
It might be a good idea to continue this in the forums if for no other reason than both my browser and kaspersky do not like that link one little bit (unsecure, too many redirects, etc.) and you can just drag and drop an image into a post. Also more people will see it there.

If you don't care losing the fancymaps, you can just delete the .mtr and be done.
These actually seem to work fine with Diamond Edition NWN.
Wait, what? That shouldn't even be possible! It doesn't support any normal maps! How can it work for Diamond and not for me in EE?
The Workshop Items causes an area transition problem with The Song Divine (Base of the Dragonspine Mountains to The Gnomes - level1) when you click on the hidden door (EE crashes). Uninstalling the Mod resolves the issue.
Just an update on the crashes. These are caused by Beamdog Enhanced Player Showcase and causes transition crashes in a number of mods including The Song Divine and The Fate of Daggerdale.
What is an "Enhanced Player Showcase"?
Sorry for delay in responding. Corresponds to hd_player_model.7z
Something that's been bugging me for a while about the proof of concept for the Player Model, is it bears no .plt files, but tga's. I haven't tested or installed, but was wondering whether it can be recolored or not. Is the coloring now being managed by another map texture ala Skyrim? Can anyone explain, please? On the other hand, the temple tileset updates look amazing, yet unfortunately, lack ceiling and the gemoetry for it to rest upon. Have any other features like the ones included here been released since then? More weapons or npc models? i ask because I only recently came back to active NWN modding, after a long hiatus due to lots of problems with the EE.
Can confirm that these do work with the Diamond Edition.
