This Deep Caverns tileset is meant to represent underdark environments that are in karst caves just below the surface down to much larger "underdark vault" caves near a mile below the surface.
This set is a stand-alone tileset, but includes enough sub-type rooms to actually be counted as four tilesets in one.

The basic room can also use sub-terrains including:
The basic room can transition directly to submerged passage, tunnel room, and can use the cave hallway as a door to transition to tall rooms
Basic rooms and tunnel rooms can currently make use of a 3m height transition. Tall rooms will eventually have a 2x height transition similar to those in Zwerkules' tilesets.
Water pits can be considered an entire other room type if used entirely with basic cave and solid walls, creating a room system of bridges over water
A second corridor type exists which includes some carved black stone pillars. This sub-terrain is not finished, and will include glowing gems and runes on the pillars.

2019-09-26: This set was tested on NW1 and was found to look good enough that I won't be planning a separate texture set for NW1. I've added a NW1 module (1.69) in the download section.

Currently there are no tile exists, entrances, or transitions, and the only door group is still unpainted and having some error correction. There are multiple transitions in the works. I will probably just snag some basic transition tiles from other sets and modify them shortly. In addition, I have the following transition groups planned:

Tiles are still being finished and a few still need fixed. I'll put up the basic package as soon as I can, which might be in a few days.

Ignore the main ceilings. The texture on that will be updated and RotateTexture will be applied to reduce the tile-to-tile issues.
Is this for EE only or will it work in older NWN modules? If EE only, will you be releasing a NWN version?
Answer from MD: The answer is that I have not checked non EE with current textures but I DO intend to make Non-EE textures.

At last, a wonderful, beautiful emergency release... No need explaining how caves are a vital cultural element to cave gnomes. Maybe now, someone could adapt Vernes "Journey to the center of the Earth" . Thanks Merricksdad.
I tried out the Non-EE module and it seems I'm missing textures yet. Otherwise, very well done. The missing textures seem to be the water ones. All the watery features were greyed out (possibly whited out, but hard to tell with the lighting). I'm really excited about the possibilities of this set. It's reminiscent of Baba Yaga's Spider caves but lacks their poor pathing whenever a corridor connects to a room.
Thanks for making me aware of missing textures. I think what I did was used an older water texture from another of my sets. I will upload a missing water texture zip shortly.
