Latest version is 1.4.2
Beamdog's HD Art Pack Features:
DISCLAIMER! This is only compatible for NWN:EE, not Diamond Edition.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems Wolfs helmet plts were missed in the 1.4 version, they are now incorporated into the 1.4.1 version.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is as followings some of the changes for version 1.4.
For installation guides and full documentation please look at the project page on the wiki.
The average user will want to install either the userpatch or the override. If you are a person who just wishes to play with it in your single player adventure then the userpatch or override will simply be for you. If you are a builder then chances are the modular compiled edition is for you, along with perhaps the additional builders resource.

This includes a list of fixes done by myself and several community members.
There were no changes except for actual fixes, and compiled version. In most cases what you want from this download is the userpatch version or compiled version, We offer a bit of both.
The HD Artpack promises to work on fixing the issues with the initial v 1.0 release from Beamdog, we have accomplished, within the community, a lot of huge fixes, changes and even gone as far as to completely redux the female version.

Big thanks to Beamdog for making this possible, and for creating a lot of the content.

EDIT : The project has evidently changed considerably since I wrote this.
Edit:
Project direction changed, old post redundant.
I agree somewhat with proleric. Assets organized for builders has value (just remove spaces in folder names so various tools won't pitch a fit). Compiled models for testing have value to see if they run better than ascii and find some floor of cpu/vid card that will run acceptably. Fixes have value because fixes. Compatible with CEP also has value for testing.
I'm not sure where Bill et al are on updates/fixes to this (shadows, model/texture bugs, etc), but good to think about.
Plz change title, WIP should be up there in big bold letters :)
Something I wanted to ask about this. If the HD textures won't work on older machines and that's the reason for this being released as an override/hak pack, then if non HD textures were made for the models could those models and textures be added to the game as an update without anyone having difficulties and have the HD textures as an optional override?
The official installer is here (scroll down to Neverwinter Nights HD Art Pack 1.0)
Thanks, Winternite.
For developers it would be nice to download only the things that have been fixed after Beamdog published their pack.
You're welcome :)
Do you mean for module builders? Currently it's unclear when Beamdog or if they will release a fixed update to the HD pack, that's why I've started to fix some of the issues.
Yes, but I cannot know what things have been fixed after Beamdog's release and download only those.
An example. In the original Beamdog's realease there are 441 files for cloaks (textures, materials and models).
Did anyone of those have any issue that needs fixing? Does your download include any fix for this?
Well, there are a lot of issues larger and minor, I think we have scratched the surface of the big ones, these include the fix (compiled & uncompiled version)
I do have a folder that just has the fixes categorized into modular, might put that up here if needed, but overall the solution would be o grab the compiled version either for building or for playing.
Pretty good work with these, at the first sight I though that Beamdog installer has placeables and some creatures, but noticing here that someone is working with this is honestly great!
I used this on my PW and it's working great, thanks Winternite!
Yeah, I thought it was much needed, but I think Jasperre is also working on something similar so will be great for when that is ready, will keep trying to maintain this as I go along :)
Thanks for driving this! Worth it for compiled models alone, let alone the fixes!

I hope if not Beamdog then Community finished this pack to full hd overhaul of 3d models in the entire game.
Bear with me here. Been playing this game since 2002 but I don't mod it much aside from downloading modules. Modding is Morrowind and Oblivion and sometimes Skyrim. So my modding experience is what's installed last trumps, without a Bashed patch.
We have a Beamdog release of what I gather is some of this. And, if I'm not mistaken, this covers more than that.
Would I install the Beamdog release and then this, or the other way around to get the best/most current/bestester version?
As always, seriously appreciate the labor of love y'all put into a game that came out before dual core processors were even a thing for most of us.
I get the confusion, but just to summarize: The download here includes the same as the Beamdog one does, the changes are just fixes to some of the stuff that are listed above and compiled models.
Compiled models is a big one as that means that stuff will load much faster and avoid stutters while playing because these models are a bit big.
The changes include a lot of different things, but as showcased on screenshots the monk, cleric and wizard robes were fixed, and more stuff too.
Thank you for compiling the models, very cool.
Bless you people for fixing the bugs with this art pack. Thank you! Looking forward to further progress, and please let me know if there's a tip jar or something I can hit.
Thank you for the hard work and the fixes, and for separating the stuff in different hak. Useful for those like me who want to use part of it only, but do not know which files do what.
I tried unzipping the 1.0 HD pack and putting into my overrides folder on 169 diamond version. I found that many things were missing like bodies and heads.
Any idea if this will be fixed with this bug fixed version or if it will ever be possible to use the HD textures on the old diamond non ee edition ?
Is the render engine in ee so much different that it has some new features so that these models wont work on the older diamond edition?
I may try again in the future with your bug fixed version to see if the HD textures can work with diamond as i play a PW there that is not yet updated to ee.
This is an EE only update. It does not work on 1.69. Maybe someone other than me might be able to get it to work on 1.69 but I don't hold out much hope.
TR
So you know I have taken 3d HD model content from NWN ee (a forge) that was from the steam nwn content store and found the folder that had the content in it (it was in another dir not override if i recall but its the same purpose for steam managed modules) and put them into 1.69 override and it loaded fine and looks great so i know its possible to use ee models in 1.69
Does anyone who is working on the models tested in diamond or have even thought of trying? Do you know if they changed the way models work in ee?
i think they didnt but added to graphics engine things like lighting and speed up the 3d pipeline. And otherwise how would the diamond models load into ee so there is likely some comaptiabilty.
I downloaded the compiled 1.2 zip here but its not in override compatible format as i see a bunch of dirs for item types. So i'm not sure how to use this 1.2 compiled version as a gamer (override compatible files) like it is for ee version. I think so far this updated bug fixed hd pack is for using by developers server side?
The poly and bone count is too high for NWN 1.69, so changing it for 1.69 compatibility would include altering all 20k (or more?) model files individually to scale them down and manually change them so they look "ok"
As for the compiled version, its sorted in a modular folder structure so you can pick what you wanna use and put it in override (if you dont want heads or weapons but want other stuff you just pick that, or pick everything)
The unchanged version is the complete baseline and unaltered, the other versions include several weeks of fixes and of course compiled models to reduce frame stutters significantly. I haven't seen much issues with the compiled version in terms of frame stutters, but some reports that it still does it a bit and that would be the cause of the PLT files that are much larger than they should be, and we are trying to find some ways to reduce them in size without impact.
Amazing work, huge thanks to you all for doing this.
Shadows are largely fixed by Tjured in the upcoming v1.3 of this pack.
Unfortunately this doesn't support the mobile version, as for the shadows that might be fixed in either 1.3 or 1.4, we have people in the community still working very actively on fixing some major things with this project, that should also include shadows.
Hey I can't seem to get this to work. After I unzip the compressed version, I thought I had to drag the files into the override folder in my Documents/NWN, but I didn't notice any change in-game. Am I placing these files in the wrong location? I'm running the steam game and have the HD pack subscribed from the workshop, and was hoping these files would overwrite those ones to add the fixes.
On another note, in my Kingmaker game Kaidala has a weird coloration problem on her face. Does this mod fix that?
Hi,
It should work just by placing them in the override folder, I don't really know about the workshop since the workshop causes a lot of different issues so I tend to stay away from that.
I would suggest to remove everything you have from the workshop and redownload it from the vault, the HD pack you should be able to just copy all the files into the override folder (not the folders the files are in, but the files themselves)
- Take the files from the different folders and put them in C://Neverwinter nights/Override
It works with development folder too, that takes highest priority and overrides anything and everything, if you can take a screenshot of Kaidala we can see if its a bug that has gone undetected that we have not yet resolved, or if it is a different conflicting issue.
Just keep in mind the vault version and steam workshop versions are not the same.
I have it installed and for me Kaidala has a strange face that doesn't make sense. It's the first time I played Kingmaker so can't compare to how it was before though but the face is really not right.
What exactly is strange about it? Mind you she had scarred face in the vanilla game.
It suppose to be "not right", she's a burn victim.
Unless of course she has a kobold for head, then yeah, it doesn't make sense then.
Ok, I tried Basic EE, BD 1.0 and BD 1.2
Kaidala's head/face seems fine under Basic vanilla EE but under Beamdog's HD 1.0 and for version 1.2 the head has the strange colouration pattern.
Picture is from 1.3, so that should work, 1.2 was released a little month ago and in that time many changes were made, including removing redundant files.
Thanks for the feedback I will have to check that out.
edit:
Seems to work with 1.3 atleast, when I tried opening it.
I am absolutely astounded at the amount of work you are all putting into this, great work and many thanks!
Many thanks for all your work on this. I still can't use it because it seems to do crazy things with human bodies - elongated necks, missing upper arms, strange torso. Don't know if this a conflict with the mods I am playing or CEP 2.x or somethingg else, but thought it was worth mentioning in case this can be fixed (or something I am doing wrong).
I really dont know what has been done to CEP past 2.65. It works fine with CEP 3 but maybe you have other haks that conflict?
If it's just CEP then you should be fine having the bdhd haks at the top with exceptions of creature one and cloak one as long as no 2das.
Thanks for responding. Based on your comments, I did some investigating and found that the issue is caused by High Heel walk and run phenotype100 with heels included.
I uninstalled it and the bodies are no longer messed up. Having said that, I am not sure I like the way the new bodies and faces look - so uninstalled for the moment.
Ok, well I don't think that we will change how it inherently looks since we wanted to keep to the released version from Beamdog, but the female pelvises did need actual fixing.
Im glad that it was identified what issue was happening.
Many thanks for the fixes. Here is just a quick bug report: "Hilltop Guard Helmet"
The helmet turns your character's face into that of a white guy and there is also some weirdness going on with the left eye.
Appreciate it, the issue with the helmet is that the model itself is colored to have that caucassian look behind the mask, it wouldn't be something we can change dynamically at this moment, might be something we will change in the future though.
Thanks for the bug report!
"Commoner's Tunic" clips for female dwarf with wide body type.
Purfbin Doogrick from Darkness over Daggerford
Dude! Trigger warning!
My bad!
Thanks for the reports, gonna have to check that out, had a similar thing with Kaidala in some other premium module, when I checked it was working for me.
The installation you did you placed everything in either override or development folders, or which one did you fly with?
Speaking of Kaidala from Kingmaker, I checked and even with the latest version I have the weird face, so I don't know what,s up with that. Maybe a macOS/M1 thing.
Thanks for letting me know, that is pretty strange. Is the installation also the files in the override/development folder?
I put everything in the override folder. I also tried the userpatch version right now with a clean Documents\Neverwinter Nights folder. Same bug.
Can confirm Kaidala being bugged.
Make sure you're not using this along side of the HD Pack - https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/hakpak/original-hakpak/thebarb...
FP!
