In the very beginning there was a nice tool in NWN2 to generate terrains from a simple heightmap. However the author let that tool die in the very early days of NWN2. I found that quite a shame and wanted to get that plugin working again.
The plugin has been rewritten from the ground up with a new more modern gui. L3DT support has been restored however due to changes in L3DT file structure since the original plugin was written, it now only works with the newest version of L3DT.
I attached the source to the plugin, so anyone itching to take a shot at the source feel welcome. There is also an example L3DT project supplied to test with.

Where does, or in what form, does the height map come from?
I am not familiar with this kind of tool where can I go for instructions?

The heightmap can come from anywhere, It's just a grayscale map. With black being the lowest point and full white the highest point. In the example screenshots I put one up.
