Here's the deal...
I'm gonna "try" to make a module similar to Storm of Zehir (SoZ). There will be an overland map of... The Underdark! It will be similar to SoZ in that, there will be many overland areas to explore - caves, mines, ruined temples, etc. The level range I'm shooting for will be: start at 15 and make it playable at 30 with consistant challange.
Overland Encounters - all kinds! Some of the ones I'd like to make are:
1.) Monsters: Mindflayers, Beholders, Driders, Drow, Duergar. Trolls, ogres, and such too!
2.) Caravans: to rob, kill, and loot!
3.) Adventurer Parties; also to rob, kill, and loot!
4.) Special, Secret: Not to be disclosed at this time!
This is a "Work-In-Progress", so stop back periodically to check for updates!
Update: 2.10.2014
The Overland Map has been sculpted! Attached is a screenshot of the Underdark Overland Map. Please post feedback! It is helpful and much appreciated.
Update: 2.11.2014
The texturing is finished, and "Most" of the placeables are down. Added 2 new screenshots!
Update: 2.11.2014
Placeables are done! There are 32 overland encounter areas, such as, Caves, Towers, Ruins, Mine, Towns, and Cities. I would have added more, but the toolset couldn't handle the load as it is. That's it for me today, I'm headed to bed. Enjoy the new screenshots!
Update: 2.12.2014
The placeables are all in place, i would have used more but the toolset couldn't handle them. Added 7 new encounter areas: a crypt, and 6 graveyards. The walkmesh is finished - I chose to leave 95% of the area walkable, so players could experiance more overland encounters and roam freely.
Update: 2.12.2014
The Overland Map has been Completed! The next stages of development will be:
1.) Attaching areas to the overland encounter nodes (Cities, crypts, caves, ruins, graveyards, etc).
2.) Figuring out the scripting stuff to get the most out of the OM (Overland Map).
Update: 2.13.2014
27 of the 38 interior areas are complete! 11 left to make.
I need to build:
1.) 3 Graveyard/Cemeterys
2.) 5 Mage Towers
3.) 3 Caves
I've released several of the interiors for this project to the public. Feel free to use them as you see fit, but do give credit!
Keep checking back for updates. Time to get back to work!
Update: 2.13.2014
Added a shrine to MokahTGS and Kamal for all their help. Thanks again guys!! Up go the screenshots.
Update: 2.14.2014
I have finished making ALL of the main encounter areas! The next stage of development is to correctly name and attach these areas to the monsterous 32x32 Overland Map of the Underdark. Back to work!
Update: 2.18.2014
All of the overland areas have been attached! Currenly working on populating areas with creatures. This may take me a while because I've never done it before. Trying to figure out how to spawn in monsters is kind of challanging for me, but we'll GIT-ER-DUN!
Update: 2.19.2014
Going to take a couple days off - I've been working on this for over a week non-stop. Progress report: 13 overland map random encounters are finished! Only 1 seems to be non-functional; Driders. I've tried everything to get the Drider to work, but the solution eludes me at the moment. 3 dungeon areas have been populated with spawn encounters. Well, that's that. Cya guys in a few days!
Update: 2.25.2014
Back on the wagon! I've got 13 overland encounters polished and complete. 13 dungeons have been populated with encounters ranging from Beholders, Trolls, to a Crazed Gnome, and Insane Halfling. Progress is steady, so keep stopping back for more details!
Update: 2.26.2014 - about 6:45pm.
Just finishing up for the evening. 25 dungeon areas populated with encounters - that leaves 9 areas left to finish! I would imagine that it would go faster if I was only making 1 copy of each creature, but just for the sake of replayable fun, I'm making 7 each of almost all of the creatures. Because this will be an Epic Level Module, I'm making a creature for each stage of play: levels 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36 - and a few bosses go up to level 90! Welp, that's it for today. I'll try to hammer out the last areas tomarrow.
Update: 2.27.2014
Just one (1) more combat area to populate with monster encounters! Gonna save that one for tomarrow, bright and early. Next on the Underdark "To-Do List" is QUESTS! Feel free to post some quest ideas that you may have. I'd love the help, as, my creative juices are almost tapped.
Update: 3.3.2014
Creature Bounties are complete. 67 Creature Bounties total; some may not end up in this module, but I made them "just in case". The easiest way I could think of to implement Creature Bounties was to use a shop format. The Bounty Master will buy any and all creature bounty items for a flat rate in gold pieces; the same way you buy and sell potions to an NPC vendor. Example: Red Dragon Scales will be bought for 6000 gold each, while Boar Tusks will be purchased for 200 gold each.
Made a "weaker" version of all boss creatures to accomodate lower level players. The lowest level boss creature will be level 25-30, while the "real" version of them ranges from level 60 to 90. These encounters were designed to be tough, so bring a party of players or NPC party members to the fight!
Still working on creating quests to keep you fine folks busy. This, I assume, will be the most time consuming part of this module's design process. There may not be any progress updates for a few days until I have gained some ground on the quest development. Cya all in a few shakes!
Update: 1/2/2016
Hey folks! I got some free time and im back on the wagon for building the project. 4 new areas were built. Several creatures were designed. The next item on my to-do list is build some of the cities in the underdark, such as: Menzoberrazzen, Gracklstugh, and Oryndoll. The spawn system is not the same as it is in SoZ: it uses triggers. I was unsuccessful in trying to make that system work, so i did it with the trigger system. I've added a "clean up" script to the on_exit field of each area to remove leftover items, loot bags, corpses, and living creatures. Well, back to work! Cya soon folks!
Update: 1/6/2016
I just finished adding the hostile overland map encounters; similar to SoZ, but with my own twist. Many thanks to Kamal for all his support! Saving the city/town area designs for when i get really burned out on the technical stuff (it's creeping up). Currently trying to get the overland goodie nodes to spawn correctly. Welp, back to the grind, cya all later!

Awesome project! Is there any download available?
Hi everyone. It's been a while. I've been busy with real life stuff and I haven't had time to work on this much.
I got some free time and I'll be getting back on the wagon! I wonder if releasing the current build to you guys would be a good idea - it is still very uncomplete, but the OM is very much done.
Nice sculpting! I hope you can find the time to get back to this soon. Good luck!
