Continuation of the Subtlety of Thay series. Support of Ch 2 standalone has ceased.
Note that v1.4 and higher are compatible with SoZ. There are currently no means for me to reasonably test and maintain earlier versions or versions without SoZ. Play at your own risk.
Note that v1.4 is not compatible with v1.3 or earlier saves. If you have DLed v1.4 on a v1.3 or earlier save, DL the SoTHak1.3.7z file and replace the exiting 1.4 hak with that.
Installation: If you are unsure about how to install a NWN2 module, see the readme. There are detailed instructions on how to do so.
Always check to make sure you have the patch that matches the patch in this entry! You WILL find bugs if you don't, and I can't help you fix them if you're on an old patch.
Compatability:
This campaign has been tested with TonyK's AI, Kaedrin's PRC pack*, and ladydesire's PRC pack*
*Note that there is a caveat with these two pieces of community content. See readme for details.
Frequently Asked Questions/Issues
Q: The combat is really hard.
A: Yes, it is. givexp from the console or using a higher than recommended level character are both options if you don't like hard combat. I do, and designed it that way. Nothing is impossible to defeat at the level range recommended, though.
Q: Help! I can't level up Aleandra, it crashes when I try!
A: You need to update your game to 1.13 or later.
Q: When Aleandra joins my party, she is a warlock. That doesn't seem right.
A: It's not. You either didn't install the mod correctly, removed the packages.2da from the override, or have another packages.2da in the override conflicting with it. Make sure it's the only one in there and try again. She should be a cleric.
Q: I'm trying to get into House Scipi's basement, but the fog of war doesn't disappear.
A: Use WASD movement to get in there. It's some kind of weird engine bug where when you open that door the fog of war doesn't disappear from the room. Just walking in will make it disappear, but since you can't click that area you need to use keyboard movement. I can't fix that.
Q: I'm on the Botuf the Black quest chain, and I can't find the elven tribune...
A: There's only two "elven" buildings in the city, and it's in the basement of one of them. It's a little difficult to access so you'll have to find a way.
Q: I don't know who my patron house is after the banquet.
A: It's in your journal.
House Scipi - located in the noble district, he's upstairs in the bedroom.
House Danworth - located in the noble distrct, he's in a room to the left of the front door at the head of the table.
House Scipi - located in the Market. He's standing near a fireplace on the first floor.
House Halvasyn - located in the Noble district. She's right in front of you when you enter.
The Apprentices - located in the Palace in the throne room, the woman in purple.
The Palace - located in the Palace, the guy sitting on the throne.
Q: Help, I'm lost and don't know what to do next...
A: It's very important you pay attention to what's going as you play. A lot of things happen and aren't repeated or referenced again, and sometimes you need to take into consideration what you do know and figure things out on your own. You can contact me about that and I'll be more than happy to help you, but keep this in mind as you play and you may not find the need to.

a fantastic mod!!
Well, that's some module where the author/s made up some hard work on it. This could have been a new official expansion in my opinion. But i think the title doesn't strike enough, still.
P.S. I wonder if we'll EVER see the chapter 3..
Played this back when it was first released.. I think just the first chapter.

Near the end of Chapter 2, I was telling a fried this was better than some DLC content that I'd paid for. Great story, great sidequests, good henchmen, you could think or talk your way out of a lot of situations and get roughly the same XP as if you had fought, and truly GREAT custom items.
Then I got to the seige that seems like it's just an adventure en route to the denouement---and, nope, it's the end of the game. WTF? I'm giving it a 7 because what is there is completely excellent; there are even multiple paths through partsof the story line that I had planned to redo taking the road I didn't travel. For the fact of the info on the mod page here not warning you how abruptly the game ends, I wanted to give it a 0. You're all set up with a number of allies you've cultivated who will meet you in the Elven lands to take out a crazy Red Wiz of Thay who's learned what he calls Elven High Magic---and then nothing. This was my first experience with FRW's material, and if you use their leveler, you meet people who tell you all about a bunch of other modules they've written, all of which sounded great and were on my "to download" list, but now I just don't know. I'm pretty lame with combat and side quests and usually end up redoing combats and conversations, so any time it says "30 hours of play," I figure on more like 60---and that's way too much time and emotional investment to put into a game that just stops without warning. Please, Gods of the NWN Vault, at least put in a caveat when a module grinds to a halt with so much still in progress and left to do.
Happened to me as well! XD At the begin i reloaded one or two times, thinking that maybe it was a bug, then i realized that... See you in chapter 3! (which likely we'll never see) And then i said LOL. Yeah, he could at least give you a message warning about it. Oh, nothing is perfect it seems.
oh fuk.... hate cliffhangers and abandoned modules :(
wanted to try it,but apparently i'm out of luck with this one.
I like this module but seem to be stuck at the banquet hall. I am escrorted in, everyone is seated, and then nothing happens! I have done all the necessary tasks, including the mages in prison and the Wyvern training, and of course talking to just about everyone I could find, including all the guards! Is there a trick to get the interaction going with the higher ups? They just ignore my atmepts to talk with them...
Is this module compatible with the Races of Faerun mod? I know it said the override should be wiped but wanted to know if it has some support for additional races, or will it mess something up in later parts of the game?

I left a message at chapter 1, but I thought I'd put it here as well as I really need some help! What seige?
I'm in the underdark and going around in circles. I opened all of the doors, went to the outer plane and killed the red wizards, went through the illfarm door, killed the demon, did the water passage with all the rats - and am now stuck. I can't find a way out or to the next area!
I'm thinking there must be a way to remove the force field to use the door outside where the demon was, but how?
Any help would be greatly apprecaited - and boy, would I love a map of the area!
A wonderful mod. I don't give it a 10 for the pace at the beggining of the city chapter (you progress really slowly and expend a lot of time running around), the xp awards, the insane difficulty of some fights (doable, but frustrating for certain classes), and the loose last tip for the Botus' quest. Other than that, a masterpiece and HOURS of fun and interesting adventures (almost 50 hours for me, a slow player!)... all without a single bug!!!
I played it years ago, but got stuck in the city and didn't reach the end. Man, I'm really happy to have played again!
