(2)Chains of Misfortune-(Released Winter 2012) Link
(3)Light at Journey's End-(Coming Fall 2013)
--------------------------------------
Meaning:
This mod is based on the concept of 'Nihilism', which is a philosophical doctrine suggesting the annihilation of the self, or the individual consciousness.
--------------------------------------
Module Summary:
Is it a dream you are awakening to or a living nightmare? When you open your eyes, all you see is shadow, unable to differentiate yourself from the multitude of voices you wander. You may have once been a great hero, a powerful arcanist, or merely a lowly thief, but no matter what you were before, you are a Asper. So shall you remain until you discover the reason behind your cursed state, and more importantly, how you may escape it.
--------------------------------------
Setting:
You can play your own role, that of another, or mix them up, all is open to an Asper. Though it takes place in it's own world, it can be incorporated into most other medieval fantasy settings, which allows about anybody's character to fit in.
--------------------------------------
Level Requirement:
Note that the first area of this module checks if your level 5 and above, if your not it will give you the necessary amount of experience to get to that level, but note that Races with ECLs of +1 or greater will start at lower levels.
--------------------------------------
Installation:
Step 1
Use Winrar(Choose one of the first two; depending on if you have 32 bit or 64 bit, on the top of the list) or 7zip or other extractor to extract the Nihil Trilogy Folder. If anyone has any problems tell me and I'll post a .zip version; though there should be a option to extract the files from a .rar with 7zip should Winrar not be viable.
Step 2
Open the Extracted Folder
Step 3
Cut and Paste the 'nihilhaks.hak' and place it into the folder under
My Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2/hak
Step 4
Cut and Paste the 'Nihil_Alpha' module and place it into the folder under
My Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2/modules
Step 5
Start up the Neverwinter Nights 2 game and choose the option called New Game Modules, and select the 'Nihil_Alpha' module
Step 6
Pick any character you wish, start up the game.
Step 7
Enjoy the game!

Final Updates: 03/24/2012
-Converted module into campaign
-Added a Teleportation Network to the Mindscape
-Added in some sound effects for a few key conversation nodes
-Made beach sittable for two on the cliffs above the port-city
-Some minor updates to handle a few spelling/grammar errors in mod.
-Added in subtraction system for giving out experience points at beginning of mod so characters that are above level 1 won't be given unnecessary experience points, but any character higher than 12000xp will be admitted without constraints as before.
---------------------------------------
Updates: 12/12/2010
-Thanks to Shallina on the Bioware Social Network for posting the solution to a problem that has persisted since Beta, and was since ignored as the mod was released. This bug concerned the fact that lights lose their tags after the game is reloaded, and the only solution is to use the SetLocalObject and GetLocalObject to repair it. For this I give true commendations as it finally allowed a perfect implementation of the end battle scenes for those who want to take a more leisurely pace through the game instead of relying purely on the all at once approach. Though not critical to completing the mod before, it nonetheless was a thorn in my side when it came to scripting the final battle scene, and I'm glad to say it is finally repaired to my satisfaction.
-Second, I learned enough about C++ to make a auto-installer for my mod; also something that has persisted since beta, and that was just released as well with the update, and is available on the link below.
-Third, a new mini-game was added to the Weary Rest Inn.
-Other minor visual changes, mostly to interior areas.
---------------------------------------
Updates as of 12/4/2010
-Added a walkthrough of one possible path of the game on Youtube. See the link above.
-Added a website for the game trilogy. Check the link above.
---------------------------------------
Updates as of 10/17/2010
*More spelling and grammatical fixes
--------------------------------------
Updates as of 10/14/10:
*Based on yldenfrei and JSelenes' suggestions, I added a couple extra ending 'events' based on gender and choice(this includes the Asper forms if you choose to use them)
*Based on yldenfrei's suggestion I added brackets for actions
*More spelling and grammar fixes
---------------------------------------
Updates as of 10/10/10:
*Addition of a scene in the lighthouse to guide people towards the stairs which leads down to the hidden beach. As well as a addendum to the journal entry to that effect.
*Addition of the Longbow as a Void Weapon
*Notification on the Rat-catching quest at the Bakery to click on rats to up the counter
*Deleted the windmill ambient sound loop on the east exit of the Bandersville area
*Revision of in-game text based on spelling and grammar; a never-ending process; though Ive spent months in Beta and at least a couple close usability testers to achieve, but a necessary one
*Most NPCs set to Plot
*Sculptor quest Infinite XP bug fixed
*Some other changes not mentioned

This mod look like really intrigruing but I can't go further because I have too many crash to desktop sadly :(
Hi Regcod, sorry for the delay. If problems and interest still persist, I would recommend these steps. First make sure the full module is installed correctly. Begin by checking to make sure the latest .mod file is in the associated 'C:\Users\<Your-Name>\Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\modules' folder. Also make sure the latest .hak file is in the 'C:\Users\<Your-Name>\Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\hak'. Run the module again and if problems persist, check to see if you have any interfering files in the 'C:\Users\<Your-Name>\Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\override' folder, I cannot be sure exactly what files may interfere so it is best to cut and paste everything you have in that override folder to another temporary folder of your choosing and then run the mod again. If that crash to desktop issue still happens, your installation of the original Neverwinter Nights 2, it's two expansions, and the associated patches may be interfering. A complete reinstallation is in order which will vary depending on your computer, and I cannot make any suggestions on that expect for you to make sure it is completely uninstalled first before reinstalling. After that, something else is seriously wrong, maybe related to hardware but that is only speculation. Let me know how it goes.
Completed the series, and all I can say is : Amazing!
***Spoilers***
Each part of the series have their own pros and cons so i will review them separately here:
Part 1: Nice introduction sequence. Companions are interesting. And the second town was simply beautiful.
Part 2: So it starts off in the player's mind, which serves as a sort of hub area, branching to different levels. It was nice to see the background of the NPCs from the first part. There is also a weapon and armor upgrade system using tokens, obtained from killing weak shades. This part overall was more or less as well made as part 2.
Part 3: Here is where it picks up with the cliffhanger of part 2. We have a rather long dream sequences, though it is nice to see how much effort was put into them. Boss battles, while I appreciate that certain gimmicks were placed to allow some strategy, rather than just wailing on the boss, the bosses were taken down very quickly in their vulnerable phases. (except the secret one.) I also encountered bugs where companions could not die in combat, which takes away the intense moments.
The Hub area for this part is so huge! It resembles the Nexus from Demon Souls, and comes with many cool features, such as a threatre, farm (literally), puzzles and training arenas!
However I must say that nearing the end, I was a bit disappointed to see where it was going, especially after i saw the theatre clip about a certain child in a certain state... The ending in my opinion wasn't that satisfying. Another thing that was a missed opportunity, was that the NPCs from previous parts could play a bigger part, maybe have them give comments, help with decision making or even affect endings.
All in all, this series was really fun to play and high quality too!
Seraphimsage, you got some 'splainin' to do! How could you? HOW COULD YOU? I'm not going to spoil the story, but you probably already know what I'm talking about. Specifically, that very last scene... How can I face [you know who] again after that?
Well, I will congratulate you on an exquisitely done module. The landscaping was gorgeous, especially the cliffs above the village. The mood was properly spooky -- took a long time before I dared to engage the others in the mind-cave. Story was excellent, and quite engaging.
One complaint is that with a full party (bard, Iwan, sisters) and a PC sorceress starting at L7 or 8 the combats were pretty easy. Forgivable, because this seems like a "story module" more than anything else, but I did want to bring the rain a little more. During the ambush in the canyon there was a funny moment where [evil bad guy] was chasing me around so I couldn't cast any spells... guy was so totally fixated on chasing me, I was able to run circles around my party members and they gleefully chopped him up with attacks of opportunity. ;D
Anyway, I just wanted to congratulate you on a spectacular piece of work. Chapeau!
Played the whole series with a human spirit shaman (I almost never play such class, but I thought that the description of the module was written for it... oh, well) . First part is great, second is OK; third part is, for my taste, clearly worst than the other two in terms of story. Pros: stunning beautiful environments, good script, ambient, some of the NPCs stories... a lot of work well done. Con: Too linear and story-driven (in some moments, almost as seeing a film towards part 3); too easy ( too much xp, easy enemies, inmortal companions... gets boring towards the end, specially if player uses implementation of weapon and armor with an infinite provision of spheres and lets companions act as shields); strange and convolute mixture of "real" myths (things and mini-games get weird in part 3); too many and too easy mini-games and side-quests (all you need is in 20x20 mtrs areas around you and you simply have to click in it). Great work, specially chapter 1 and 2! It's obvious that the author put a lot of love in these modules.
Wow incredible! Imaginative and unique .. well put together, downloads the next ...
