After having defeated the Kobold King and rescuing a woman from death by burning at the stake, you travel to the village of Lost Acres. You find that the inhabitants of the small mountain village are being terrorized by shadowy creatures, and have no one to turn to. In addition, it seems that one of your companions hasn't been telling you everything.
Dark pacts, draconic curses, mad wizards, intrigue and sacrifice. This and more is what you will encounter, when you face the Howls in the Dark...
Suggested character starting level: 7
Setting: Forgotten Realms
This module is geared towards good characters.
There are 4 companions in the mod, a rogue, a barbarian, a warlock and a monk. Your companions are all forced upon you -- they're important for the story. They have plenty to say, so check in on them whenever something interesting has happened.
It is assumed that your character is already equipped and prepared for trouble at the beginning of the mod.

I really enjoyed this little adventure which must have slipped my attention at the times of the old vault. The story is nothing extraordinary but there are a lot of creative NPCs and sidequests. Even though the adventure is rather short the author established immersive companion interaction. There is also some minor FR lore for those interested in the setting and a bunch of interesting custom items. Most of the areas are well done.
Unfortunately there are some bugs which prevent you from finishing certain sidequests. Also I had to do some backtracking due to some missing leads which lead to some weird glitches.
Not bad. Some interesting areas and good selection of companions with a bit of backstory for color and to further the plot.
The curse mechanic worked pretty well. The only real snag I hit was a side quest that would not update the journal when I completed it.
Really? With my character i had equipped an item that gives me immunity to level drain and it simply didn't anything to me.
Nice module.Child rescue quest didn't work but very nice otherwise.
I really liked this module! Just finished it - ended at level 10 with my cleric.
The atmosphere the author makes with use of light/darkness and fog is very good - also loved the companions, the backstory they have, and their story during the adventure. Very well done!
Maybe a little anti-climax ending - feel the ending could have come a little bit earlier in the old castle - that would have been dramatic.
The child rescue quest didn't work - but that quest is a minor one, and didn't destroy the good story!
Thank you for making this :)
Good mod. Lots of effort on plot and character. A bit linear and area design isn't amazing, but strong overall.
A beautiful adventure. The only thing a little lacking is the area detail. Most of the areas are quite simple, with only a small portion more detailed. Of course as the author stated, there isn't a huge deal in roleplay, although you can choose the answer in most of situations, it's clearly thought for good aligned characters. And yes, the beginning of the module lacks a little in good sense, putting a horde of though enemies without giving you even the time to give a little check at your inventory. But at least he warned us.
