Play as a Bedine tribesman in the sands of the Anauroch.

Wasa-ey El Ma'ra Dat-ur Ojhogo inhabits the sandstone spire that bears his name. The spire serves as a lookout place for our scouts, but only because El Ma'ra allows it. If he does not want you to sit upon his head, or if you do not offer him a drop of your drinking water, he will throw you from the spire."
A campaign for first level players. Note: You will have all your equipment destroyed on entry, and will have the opportunity to pick up Bedine appropriate equipment. Creatures are set to their 3.5 edition stats. This will likely make things difficult given your limited resources, but this is true to source material where things are very hard for the Bedine people. I suggest playing on normal difficulty.
Bedine characters do not get any feats automatically, but can select among all feats available to the class as if they are bonus feats, allowing for more flexibility in builds. Thus, fighters do not get any armor or weapon proficiencies automatically at level 1, but can select those feats from their feat pools. In the archetype system, characters get the same number of feats as they would otherwise have. Remember to select at least one weapon feat or you're going to be stuck hitting things with your hands.
Bedine has Storm of Zehir style party generation options, as well as lore appropriate cohorts being available.
Installation:
Make a backup of your dialog.tlk from C:\Users\your_name\Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\. Bedine replaces the default dialog.tlk it to add a number of custom things.
The files in the zip file should be copied to the C:\Users\your_name\Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\ or wherever you have the game's player files. The files are all in appropriately named folders to just drop into that directory.
To start the campaign, select New Campaign at the main game menu.

Fixes: Haushi will not join the party. A portal will not open after finishing the game.

I tried but the druid has no animal companion. It is why a usualy play a druid. I don't know if it is a bug or a feature
the problem is that when I create my druid (human custom druid), I can't find the feat to have a animal companion. I'll try again. But I am nearly sure.
I confirm. I tried with removing the dialog.tlk from the tlk folder I don't have summon animal companion from the class feat. I have spontanous spell.
I play with the gog version.
I found the problem, the feat.2da made animal companion unavailable until level 4.
Unzip this updated feat.2da and drop it in the Campaigns/Bedine/2das folder, then start a new game (I presume you haven't started yet due to lack of companion). I'll have to correct the dialog.tlk so it says rangers can also get the companion at level 1 instead of their previous 4, but since you're playing a druid that doesn't affect you. I've tested it by launching a new campaign and confirming the feat was available to a druid.

When i leave the starting area (Banu Makhzum camp) for the Anauroch i'm at the Plain of standing stones and the camp is gone/invisible?Is it supposed to be like that?

my druid has his animal companion. Thank you.
But I don't understand what can I do in the first area. My dynosaur can't kill anythink. Nobody help me.
That was another bug (it started you in the wrong area), I just uploaded the fixed files, you'll need to download them and start again.

I downloaded last evening on nexus, when I found the last version.
I began on the oasis. I do the first zone. I am with the second one.
I like the companions the thief, the shaman, the monk. we are level 3.
I tried using one dog, but I couldn't level it. It is not a problem. I think that I'll find human follower in others zones. A barbarian or a ranger should be fine. I think that I take the prestige feat when I can.
the fight are not too hard. I have my pet dinosaur who help.
I use the character that I used the first time. I did not recreate a druid.

That's odd. The dogs are full party members and should be able to level up. I just went ingame and leveled some. They have their own arms and armor as well as custom classes and prestige classes.

There will be a ranger available soon enough. He is the fourth and final companion available in addition to the dogs. If you want anything else there's the SoZ party creation available at camp.
I am sorry. My game by defaut gave me the wrong class. I succeded leveling a dog.
There is a little bug. The is a mean to handle my party at the camp with the wedding. When I have three followers, the count is at -2.
I didn't meet another bug. I gave the wedding proposal and kill the spider for the antidote.
I meet a small bug. Near Khumel I began to meet hostile parties who is good for finance and experience. I just met a party of dynosaurs (ecl6). I try to fight them. But there were nobody.
It is probably a rest à zehir who is the base of the mod.
I didn't met the ranger. I cleared the gnoll camp, visit the other tribe. The elder of the tribe sent me to khunel to rescue the familly of the sheik.
the dinosaur (ecl 6) is a band of asabi. I met them north of khumel. When I fight them, there is noone. But I receive experience when I leave the zone.
I am level 8 after meeting this band by accident.
Is the ranger name hauchi al nuaim ? Because I can't recruit him. I say to him I need of your jami... I said of course. But nothing happen.
It is the cohort hauchi. When I try to recruit him with me full group, I have the message party full limit. When I dismiss one dog, I have the message of course but nothing happen.
I try with the console rs ga_party_add co_haushi. This does not work.

fine brinsbane is my character. I use the roster that is in his tribe. The bug that I reported is that I can have one cohort with the roster with the leadership feat.
I'll go back to my camp to recruit again the other cohort.
I made a mistake the syntax is :

I have a possible problem with the ranger cohort. I take archery style. The feat many shot is not accessible in the first list of feat (the feat of the classes). I must use a feat at level 9 to take many shot.
At level 9, the monk has no class feat. But it is possible that it is normal.
kamal, it's no secret I am a fan of your work so you can imagine my surprise when I take a peek at what the community is up to and I see you are already releasing your project.
I'm so excited about this adventure! Arabian themes are a fav of mine. I will rate you once I finish!

You've done an amazing job! I really like how the protagonist comes from humble roots in the desert. I can't wait to see how this plays out. I wanted to mention that I am having difficulty finding this groom that I'm supposed to bring the stone to. He's supposed to be south of the bedine camp that was attacked by Gnolls, but nothing is showing up on the overland map. Not sure if I skipped a quest or if I'm just not looking where I'm supposed to.
I started over and found that the reason I couldn't find the groom Huashi was because when the gnolls were attacking the Bedine camp they actually killed a key character that helps advance the quest. Or the character disappeared somehow in the original playthrough.
/ Checks in, looks at the bug reports...

I just downloaded this module. When I've had time to play it, I'll give you feedback and a vote.
I've been enjoying this module a lot but have run into several bugs:
1) I had to restart it 3 times, the first 2 times started I went to the caves on the map found the underground area talked to the ghost Kralwok, broke open the door then battled him. As soon as I when to any other places the NPC's all turn hostile. The first time I played wasn't sure what I did, but the second time thru I left right after exploring that area and went to an oasis and got attacked.
2) the third time I restarted I got the problem as Friar but luckly I had a save as entered the oasis so it took me a couple of reloads to save the shaman before he is killed.
3) When I go to the crashed Spelljammer none of the creatures Im suppose to capture never spawn. This also happens when I go to El Jebal I take the quest to find the groomed horn, and no encounters ever spawn in the forest area.
Updated the patch hak. Download and override the existing hak of the same name. It will update savegames (since the hak takes priority).
Fixes: Creatures not appearing in the crashed spelljammer area.
Al Nuaim shaman possibly getting killed.

I down loaded the new hak and it didn't fix either the spelljammer or the El Jebal quest for encounter activating. I don't know if this might have anything to do with it but when I downloaded the hak file it saved it as a .HTML file extenstion. I renamed it .hak and tried it out but nothing changed.
I downloaded it and checked the files with nwn2 packer, and it contains the files it should. That it downloaded it as an html likely is causing some issue here.
Kamal, I downloaded the updated version and re-started the game in the correct area, but I ran into two problems. I'm playing as a ranger and took the animal companion feat, but at level two I still can't summon one. My other problem has to do with the Sabaa Siball quest. I found her and talked to her and learned what we needed to do, but when I get back to camp I don't get any convo about talking to her - just end conversation. I really would rather not restart the game a third time - is there any way around these problems?

Did you actually do what she requests that you do? (It's something in her area) If you didn't do what she asked the tribe shaman and sheik will say something like "What did Saba Sibaal have to say"
I checked on the animal companion. I tested by taking animal companion at level 1 and you will be prompted for selecting the companion at ranger level 4, the level you normally get the companion. That's a bug, my intention is you should get the companion as soon as you take the feat. Fortunately it's a self correcting bug once you hit level 4. I'll have to track it down, it is in the level up stuff, which is arcane.
Ooops! I didn't realize we had to do something in her area! I thought we just had to go back to the village and do some kind of ritual. I'll go back and see what I missed.

Patch hak updated: fixed a bug where Haushi does not join.
Kamal, the patch is not working for me - Haushi doesn't join. I tried to add him with a cheat and it says I'm successful, but the player list is greyed out (the only one that is grey)!
I also wanted to mention that when I hit level three I was offered the dinosaur, but no other choice. I'll wait until level 4 to see what happens - I want the panther.
Will have to investigate that further, that patch fixed it when I tested. It's possible you may need to leave the area and return, since it updates the OnEnter (I thought onEnter fired when loading a save game as well). I was also properly presented with choice of companion when I reached level 4, I didn't try taking the dino companion feat.

Excellent. It seems to have been a bug with timing, with Haushi not being created in the area until after that bit of script had run. I've updated my patch hak for anyone else.
Kamal, I'm sorry to bother you butI have a new problem. I couldn't level up the spirit shaman - it wouldn't allow me to give him any spells so I had to change him to a wizard. This also happened the first time I played. I also noticed that when leveling up sometimes you have to choose a feat more than once - it disappears!
Btw, I got to 4th level and got my panther so that's working correctly.
I'm not sure if this is a glitch or if you did it on purpose, but is death supposed to be permanent even on the easy level? My biggest problem is that when I try to pull up a saved game after one of my companions is killed I'm thrown to the desktop! I think the game takes a lot of memory since saving takes a long time, but I have plenty of memory so I'm not sure what the problem is.
Edited because I'm stuck and would really appreciate some help. How do I get into Khumel? Both doors are locked, can't be picked or bashed, and I can't find a way to get in! Am I missing something? I had the rogue walk around the whole place in search mode and didn't find a secret way to get in.

Edited to say that there were areas where I couldn't walk, but when I re-started today I was able to walk there and found the entrance!
I thought I'd start a new message so things don't get too confusing. Kamal, if you're interested, I've run into problems at the Anazandar Mine. I'm constantly thrown to the desktop or the game freezes and I have to force quit. It happens if I call up my animal companion or try to do a spell. When I tried to get through the door in the temple there was noting there and then, back to the desktop. Same with getting downstairs. I had to leave without doing either quest.
Can you give me a cheat code to get into those 2 places? It might not work, but it's worth trying.
Hi, sorry I've been super busy with non-nwn life. I know, I know, rl has better graphics and stuff, but it can be not nearly so much fun.
I haven't had time to look at the spirit shaman bug.
Death in Bedine is supposed to be OC standard, where everyone gets up unless the entire party dies. I didn't change any pc/companion death scripts from default ones.
Khumel has a main method of entering, which unlocks both gates, or via the backdoor.
Crashing on going to a new area will happen if the destination waypoint is in an unwalkable area. I've walked all around Khumel and Amazandar without issues, going through all area transitions. Bedine is a module with a large number of areas, I decided to do that on purpose to keep transitions quicker one things were loaded, rather than how SoZ did a 40 something main OM module and then bunches of 8-10 area modules like the Crossroads Keep module. Amazandar has lots of objects in the map, but Khumel has very few, less than even the prefab it was based on.

I never found out how to open the gates at Khumel, I had to get in and leave through the underground. But, I was able to finish the quest!
I figured out what was happening with the deaths - it was the skull icon on the downed companion that made me think they were gone for good so I didn't try to revive them. I didn't have to re-start after all lol!
I'm not sure why I'm having so many problems at Amazandar, but it might be a mac thing - they do pop up from time to time! I'll try to use the waypoints, although from past experiences, there's a good chance using them will crash me too! But, sometimes it works and I'd love to be able to do those two quests.

Edited to say that as much as I enjoy the campaign, the game has become impossible for me to play. I'm in Tal Badir trying to help stop the invasion, but movement in the town is very slow and jerky. Once the battle begins, I'm thrown to the desktop the minute the first arrow flies - and I tried it a couple of times!
I'm hoping there will eventually be an updated version and I will try to finish the campaign.

When I played the mod in december and january, I had not problem leveling the spirit shaman who was very useful with the elementals but the ranger haushi. He had not the feat that a ranger specializing in ranged combat (multishot manyshot) should have.
I don't know if this problem has been solved.
I made a lot of grinding on the map to gain healing kits and experience. that made the Khunel fights easier.
I started this today but I ran into a couple problems. The major one is that my guy got shrunk when he entered the Overland Map, but remained shrunk when he entered normal areas. The other problem is that I have no idea where to bury people, and I can't ask anyone.
You bury your tribe member on the same map, there is a mappoint that gets added automatically. As for the sizing issue, I use the Storm of Zehir scripts, so I don't know.
I know there's the custom feat system implemented, but am I suppose to receive this many feats?
Starting out as a level 1 Rogue, I do get the same amount of feats I would normally get for vanilla Rogue, but as I tried to multi-class into a Ranger, I suddenly get another 6 feats, allowing me to take additional feats on top of Ranger standard and bonus feats.
Are areas suppose to be really quiet? I'm not hearing any music other than in the overland map and npcs are told to play a song.
