Asphyxia -- By: Azenn
THIS REQUIRES 1.22 AND MOTB
=====================
In the depths of the frozen north, secrets of the past lie buried under the thick sheets of ice and snow. Icewind Dale, a recently settled land at the peak of Faerun, beckons many to its lawless domain. Yet, at what price will the indigenous people -- the local barbarians -- have to pay for the encroaching outsiders? And what ancient dangers of the past lay in wait, ready to take advantage of the new turmoil? That is for the destined to find out...

Final Note:
Please post any bugs, feedback, questions, concerns or hate mail here in the comment section.
Either that, or email me at kasabatic@yahoo.com. I promise I will read it and get back to you.
I would greatly appreciate any advice (even if you don't want to vote) that I can use when working on the next module, whenever that may be. Thanks again for playing, I hope you enjoy it!
==================================
Version 1.09 changelog:
- Brightened many of the interiors.
- Fixed crash bug when removing companions.
- They should also have skills now.
- Other minor stuff.
Tell me if any of this doesn't work. Thanks.

Portal Puzzle Solution:
You should be able to find the solution in your journal, but if not: go through the portal directly opposite the entrance staircase. When you get ported back to the entrance, simply run back and go through the very same portal again.

A beautiful mod that is among the best in the Vault, and I mean both the new and the old Vaults. The area design is very good and both the characters and the story are also interesting and believable... in the end, even the *villains* point of view will be something you will care about... and that is no small feat... I wish the author had created many more mods, this one was not only an enjoyable trip, but a memorable one, well done indeed!
Yes you do have to play this if you never did before. Age of release has nothing to do with it.
Loving this one so far. Most of the modules I play lack depth. Not since NWN1 have I had this much fun with a custom adventure. Thank you for the hard work
I'm liking this mod so far, but who is the last companion? I hear there is 5 but can only find 4.
SPOILER
halfling thief, gnome ranger, female wizard, elf cleric. Who am I missing and where to find him/her?
It may be a bit late now, but there's a fighter in the Tavern, seeking some revenge ;)
Well i'm stuck. I got to the portals in the tomb, but can't solve the puzzle. And yes I spoke to the ghost. Any help?
Done. I really liked this mod. The end felt maybe a little bit rushed, but still a very enjoyable experience. :) Thank you!
I finished the module and I found it very good and entertaining. It has lots of influence from BG2. You'll quickly notice all those lines taken from BG, LoTR, Warcraft, etc. I kinda like it that. I did ran into some issues though.
- I found a bug. Dimissing Jasmine will result in her losing all the new spells she scribed. Unfortunately, midway into the game, she's automatically removed from the party. This can be pretty annoying. On the up side, the second time she's automatically removed, this doesn't happen.
- I found the treasure map and the mausoleum in the Black Wolf forest. The side quest closed and it's completed. However, it did gave another treasure map. Where can I find that treasure? Can anyone help me with this one?
- I also couldn't use the sword and transform it into another weapon. I tried to equipped, activate its special power and nothing happens save for the spellcasting animation.
Honestly, nothing of the story has to do with Forgotten Realms... It could have been Greyhawk and it would have been same thing. And the difficulty balance is horrible, for starting like a naked baby in the woods.
enjoying this on immensly however i am stuck at the portals the ghost is not much help anyone ever solve it? i will keep trying and if i suceed i will post the solution here..as has happened several time i discovered the solution 1min AFTER i Posted
Solution:goto the last(6th) portal on the lefthand side and enter it you will be returned to the entrance doorway then all you have to do is head back to the SAME portal you have just used and enter it again to solve the quest
would of put the solution in spoilers but cannot seem to make them work >,<
Asphyxia is a quite well written campaign, the story that unfolds is captivating.
Though there are some things that might interfere with the fun in the game. I encountered some things that were a bit strange.
1) The Elven Priest of Illmater tended to attack the main character during combat, that was odd and I can only think that something might be missing. This could be circumvented by taking manual control of the character, and at least as long as the foe that had to be smitten was alive the bug was overcome.
2) There were some sidequests, but it seems I have somehow missed out some of them, which is quite odd, since I try to get all Sidequests in a game - but maybe I didn't find them all... like the treasurehunt, or the spy-catching...
3) The Dialogues before the showdown with Saphira were somehow a bit odd...
Overall it was a nice Campaign, expect more than ten hours to solve it, and that's only a rough guess since I haven't taken the time during playing the game...
This is a great module! As stated by the author it's a bit light on lore and also heavy on the loot, which simplifies the final battle. And the activate item property of the sword didn't work for me either.Great design and story, though.
Nice adventure, even though it's too easy battle wise, even if you start with only the clothes on your back.
Lovely module, especially the outside areas. The Windswept Shelf is gorgeous. The companions are also interesting, Derek and Korazen's brooding is a nice counterpoint to Ari's bubbly nature.
But speaking of beautiful outside areas...
I'm having a devil of a time finding the reclusive elemental creature who is supposed to live on the 'Shelf. I've bounced around from bunnies to bears to bounty hunters, but cannot find the recluse. Any tips? I'm frightened that I may have misfired some script, as I poked around the Shelf awhile before going to the Forlorn Tomb.
Edit: Ha! Found 'im. Module is still awesome, though some of those barbarian townspeople were quite rude!
All of Azenn's modules sparkle with creativity. They are well written, skillfully crafted and a grace for the eye, considering that they were created at the earlier days of NWN2. It has been quite a long time ago that I played this module so I don't remember the details but afterwards I was eager to play other modules made by Azenn such as Live forever. I'll have to give it another shot when I got some time on my hands.
Very nice campaign. I liked the story, the setting and the characters.
Its only flaw is the rushed ending. I suppose that the sentence "to be continued" after the final cutscene implies that a sequel was originally planned.
