1/18/2019- campaign v1.1 uploaded to address the wonky journal entries.
What do you do with the Campaign v1.1 file, bealzebub?
1/20/2019- module v1.1 updated minor issues
Hi Bealzebub
No rating, I haven't played it yet, but I just wanted to say that your work, along with modules like White Plume Mountain and the Scourge of Candle Cove is the reason I still enjoy NWN II. I absolutely love the way you shape and structure your modules, thank you so much for your work!!! I greatly appreciate you for still being active, I'll rate G1-2-3 as soon as I finish it
1/23/2019- module v1.3 updated minor issues
Downloading now. I have been waiting for this. Will you continue with the rest of the series?
I just finished the hill giants and heading for the frost giants. It plays great and no bugs so far. My only wish would be for a full party of 6, but my 4 are doing fine. My party covers most of the bases. I have an elvish rogue with 1 level of shadow dancer. A dwarvish cleric. AN elven wizard. And an Aasimar paladin with 3 levels of cleric. So far, so good.
Glad you're enjoying so far.
As for finishing the series, I am currently working on Descent into the Depths of the Earth... but it's an awful long way to the end. I'm just taking it one module at a time.
That's ok. I need to go back and do A1-A4 with my own party and than take that same party through G1-G3. I still remember doing these modules back in the 9th grade. Long, long time ago lol
I played the Beta version and really enjoyed it. In the middle of some thing else when i'm finished I plan on replaying A1 - A-4, then G1- G3. So I am going to go ahead rate it based on my beta play thru, don't think I will need to change my vote afterwards.
Hi, I've been playing this series for a few days now and love it. Just one problem, and I feel like an idiot, but I connot for the life of my progress to the lower level in the frost giant glacier. Been through all the upper caves, and the dragon cave, but can't seem to find my way down. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, I'll look for it.
Just finished this last night, after running through Slave Lords first. Really great set of modules. I played both as a kid in the 80s and while I don't remember them in detail, these felt very true to the originals.
I had a few infrequent CTDs on area transitions but they were pretty random and not reproducable. I also have some textrue packs and the facelift pack in my override so... could be a conflict from something on my end.
Definitely looking forwards to the next part of the series.
My only real comment for improvement would be to allow for custom parties in the Slave Lords campaign as well, so the player could take the same party all the way through. Also IIRC there was a mod that allowed for the selection of Greyhawk dieties in character creation on the old vault. Can't seem to find it here, but if anyone knew of it and could link it, would be great for this campaign.
Actually thinking about it, I do have one other comment... but it may be more about the source material. The guy who sends you against the various giants, forget his name, the pompous lordling... he's such a jackass, who's great boon is allowing you to keep any treausre plunered from places everyone else is afraid to go... he almost seems like a sitcom character. Kind of blows the immersion for me a little bit. Plus I want to kill him not help him. Was he part of the source material?
Outside of that little non-issue I'd recommend these modules to everyone.
Hey Tanlaus, glad you liked it. As for the pompous lordling, yes he is part of the original campaign... well... not the original module but he is part of the Queen of the Spiders campaign.
If you don't like him now, just wait until he tells the king of Keoland about how he defeated the giants!
I played the earler games way back when, but really enjoyed getting back into the action and didn't encounter any problems along the way. I started at level 12 and ended at 16 (Paladin), got very, very rich, and enjoyed the ride.
I have to mention how great the load screens are - they're very original and exceptionally well done!
My only suggestion is to balance the fights a bit better on the bottom floors of the fire giants hold - there are way too many enemies for such a small group! I generally play on hard core, but I had to put it down to normal, and then easy for last several fights. All in all, a lot of fun though.
I exported my character and will look forward to the next chapter - I haven't been down to the underdark for a long time now!
Forgot to add my comments . . . great job. It's a worthy successor to the Slave Lords!
Hello Bealzebub,
I just finished the giants mods after the slaves lords mods. A tremendous work and a splendidly finished result ! I really enjoyed playing a second time these mods after having played them around 37 years ago with dices, paper and pens !! I think your landscapes, interiors and characters are even still better than my imagination made them at that time.
Thank you for the job and the pleasure it gave me. I will make sure to watch the site from time to time to see your release of the following mods which, by the way, I never played. So it will be for me the satisfaction to finish, at last, this long and perilous quest started so long ago.
I finally got the time to start over with 1st level characters and worked out to the Slave Lords then the Giants. I liked the exra side quests you added. I am going to have a hard time waiting for the rest of the series but my characters are saved and ready to go. The only problam I ran into was in Eclavdra room the Armoire with secret door key gets destroyed with area spells and doesn't leave the key behind. I won't rate it again since I did when I left my comments earlier after I finished the Beta Version, but it's still a 10 out of 10.
One of the best PnP conversions on the vault. Only a couple of minor bugs that don't affect the main quests. If you are a fan of hack-n-slash, you need to play this at least once.
Nits:
Can't find the family heirloom sword in the Frost Giants caves -> where is it?
Are the bugs still being worked on and is the sequel still being worked on? Just wondering.
Hi Dwayne, I still see the the author posting but you might get him to provide an update if you ask in the forum.
As far as bugs, I only mentioned the few things above for completeness. Only one side quest is affected and that might only be a problem in my copy or installation. The loot drops issue is a very minor nit. It only happens in a few areas and if you feel you need to make a clean sweep of the loot, just set one of your companions to "automatically pick up items" and let the game engine take care of it for you.
Hope that helps, enjoy!
I used to know how, but it's been way too long...
How do I make this work?
Loved this back in the day. Can't wait to try it.
I still maintain this one. https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn2/other/tool/nwn2-module-data
Hope that helps.
Hi Bealzebub and everybody. I am playing this wonderful mod but got stuck. I reached the Fire Giants' keep third level, where the lava river and the teleportation stone are, got the map to the underground but didin't find any way down. Coming near the tunnel behind the teleportation stone and without area transition, the game informs that the team is no prepared to go down. Went back to Lashton and he still says "get to it". What about Clavdra? Also never found the missing brother or his heirloom sword nor the specific key to open the secret door in the back of one of the cells in prison. In the drow temple in the keep, tried all possible combinations with the bell, the gong and the drum but could not activate de altar. Game over until the sequel "Descent into the Depths of the Earth" or did I miss something? Any clue will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Sorry for the typos, didin't review before saving.

Many thanks GCoyote. In fact the author's last message here is dated Sept 16,2019. I will give a try by a PM.
Hy everybody. Only with Bealzebub's kind assistance I was able to finish this astonishing mod. Problems: the door to Eclavdra, near the temple, is not highlighted by pressing "z". Perhaps only in my game. So I only found it carefully looking around the temple. And the key got in her armoire opens the secret door in prison inside out. Too much for a regular player. Also never found Rerth's sword, so well hidden. Except for this, a master piece. Congratulations Bealzebub. Any news about the sequel?
Thanks, matuto, for sharing your finding. Without spoiling too much, that sword is in the outdoor area.
I'm playing Scourge of the Slave Lords (really enjoying it) and I'm looking forward to this series. My question is to bealzebub: Are you still planning on publishing Descent into the Depths of the Earth?
Hi Barden, bealzebub does show up on the forums from time to time. You might try his profile there where you can either send him a private message or post more comments about this campaign in the NWN2 section.
Help! I downloaded and unzipped the Campaign, Module, and Hak files the same way I did with the slavers files (only difference is there is no TLK file with Giants), and I keep getting the message that there is a missing Hak file. I even deleted these files and reinstalled them, and continue to get the same error message when I attempt to start a new campaign. What am I doing wrong?
Edit: After some Googling I found out that the issue was that the game was looking for the hak files in another directory (C is default, my files are on D). Thus, I had to associate the hak files to the Giants module via the Toolset.
Very good transcription of the paper module. I enjoyed it very much. I had difficulties to find Eclavdra because of the door problem, but finally i found her. very good job, thank you
It took me a while but I finally got to play your A-series and G-series back to back in a couple of sessions, what an experience that was!! Thank you so much for your work, I really enjoyed every bit of it!! Great addition of the crafter merchant btw, I cannot think of a better implementation to put all the gear and riches you find into use.
I have played this campaign right after the Scourge of the Slave Lords, basically with the same party, reaching level 16 early enough to enjoy its benefits in the final phase.
I was pleased to re-discover all the positive aspects from the first campaign (nice areas, interesting dungeons, challenging battles, consistent plot), some of them even improved!
I had a largely bug-free journey, but in the Frost Giants area (and even a few times in the Fire Giants area), area transitions have often caused my PC to hang up.
Otherwise, this campaign is really a masterpiece that I can only highly recommend. Thank you, bealzebub, and may you find the time, energy and inspiration to end the continuation campaign!
any new modules?
Hi zodiac,
Sorry to day we have not seen any activity from bealzebub for a couple of years now.
