The Witcher 1 Noon- & Midnightwraith for NWN2 (LOD included)
This is a new approach regarding the porting-process: The models use their original Witcher 1 (WT1) rig/weighting provided by CDP (with some final adjustments at the end) following my tutorial: https://neverwintervault.org/article/tutorial/porting-creatures-nwn-blen...
I used this model to see, if the general workflow also works for NWN2. It does and this is the result.
It comes in 2 versions:
One is upright using the Dryad (female) skel. Dark from Neverwitcher was interested in this one to make use of a floating animation made for humoids. I wanted a more old hag like alternative, so the second version is using the hunched hag skel.
The upright versions are c_noonwraith & c_midnightwraith.
There is only one “brown” noon-hag-version: C_NoonwraithHG
-> To get a “blue” hag-version just use the MDB Cloner and assign the C_Midnightwraith_WT1.tga-texture to the “brown” hag-version.
Some additional info:
The original model uses two textures: head & body. As in my Witcher 2 Harpy port (see link under related Projects), I had to combine them, since this is now one object and thus it needs only one texture. TGA works. Converting it to DDS made it a squared texture and all was a mess. So this project comes with TGA-textures.
In these TW1-models there is only ONE (Armature-/skel-) finger for all the “straight” fingers. NWN2 has finger-bones for each (“straight”) finger. So what I did is to copy over the weights of the one straight WT1-finger to the other fingers of the NWN2-Version.
Also, for whatever reason, NWN2 (human-like) models have 2 upper arm (= humerus) bones (L/RArm10 = upper part and L/RArm11 = lower part)! WT1-models, like in probably most other games, use only one (= l/rbicep_g). So what I did is to divide the weights in the middle and assign the upper weights to L/RArm10 and accordingly the lower weights to L/RArm11.
The NWN2-hair-bones did not work well with this body, so I weighted the hair in a manner, that they follow the body.
I created these in January 2023, but I forgot (again…) to upload them to the vault.
