There are 2 versions of the Lexicon. A fixed (as in unchanging), downloadable version and a continuously updated version. They both mostly contain the same information which is not surprising as the fixed version was created from the continuously updated one at a particular time. This page contains the fixed version. Given that the other version is more up to date why would you want to download this one? Here are the pros and cons as I see them.
 
Pros
It is more convenient. No connect to the internet, launch your browser, search through your favourites/bookmarks/whatever, etc. As long as your PC can handle a chm file, double click and you're there.
For most people finding stuff in it is quicker. It's just the nature of the beast.
 
Cons
Some of the information in the downloaded chm file is either inaccurate or out of date. I personally can live with this as the downloadable version covers 99.9% of my needs.
 
So the choice is yours. One thing to make clear is that I personally had nothing to do with the creation of either of these.

Thanks -- this is hugely important now that the NWN Lexicon project may have been scrapped (website's been down for about 4 days now, since 18th June 22).

Aaaah thank you so much. I *just* got into modding and would have no idea where to start looking for functions if this wasn't here.Looks like the site has been down for a few weeks, great timing on my part lol.

For now, the online Lexicon is here.

The online version contains many updates, including a multitude of new script functions introduced by EE.

I understand that the old URL may be reinstated if agreement can be reached with the domain owner.
