Across the river from the capital of a great kingdom lies the region of Crag
Cove, where the settlement that bears that name sits in a small rocky valley
surrounded by high cliffs and hills on all sides. The settlement itself is a
place famed for the beauty of its' temple and shrines, as well as for its'
gardens and trees. Elsewhere amidst the crags of Crag Cove lies a small pass
that leads to a shrine more ancient than any in the settlement itself, yet
kept in good condition by the locals of the area. North of Crag Cove lie the
forests which are typical of these rugged climes. There are two entrances to
the woods, and none can say what might be found beyond. West of Crag Cove is
a large inland lake that empties out into the river and thence out to sea.
In the middle of that lake is an small island on which the tower of a great
sorcerer rises up from amidst majestic pine trees. The fishermen of Crag
Cove prefer to steer their boats away from the island whenever possible, but
an old wooden bridge links the island to the mainland, so often adventurers
and would-be apprentices can be seen making their way to the wizard's great
dwelling. In many ways, Crag Cove is a crossroads. Where will it lead you?

I've been looking for inspiration (not being artistic myself), and this is lovely. Lots of ideas to break my creative block.
