The Leto application, created by dragonsong, is not only a fantastic utility for Neverwinter Nights, but in my opinion an essential one. It requires nothing more than the files contained in this download to run -- not even the NWN game; only the character files the user wants to read and edit -- and is particularly useful for server admins and players of single player modules, as it allows users to view and edit virtually every aspect of NWN characters. Whether fixing descriptions, viewing XP totals, adding wings, or changing the colours of equipped armour on characters in a saved game -- Leto makes it all possible.
It has, however, been a long time since it was last updated. With the advent of the 1.69 official game patch and the popularity of projects like the CEP, Leto had begun to look particularly out-dated; essential as dragonsong's program was and is, an update was years overdue.
That's where this release comes in.
___________________________________
This release of Leto consists of a major overhaul of the program's documentation, help and reference files, and presentation; more importantly, both the standard interface and advanced editor now fully support the NWN 1.69 patch.
What has changed?
A PRC-compatible version of Leto is now available (See Related Projects section).
Leto 1.69 is released with the express permission of Leto's creator, DRAGONSONG, to whom the vast majority of credit and appreciation for this excellent program belongs.

This application is no longer supported in any way by me (I've left the NWN community), but you're all free to update, modify, and re-distribute my content without restriction, as ever. Have fun!

Duped: http://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/other/tool/leto-169-prc-compati...
It would need to have a chenged name if you want to keep leto versions in one page.. now it suggest it's only prc version.
I'd rather see the legacy version that uses the old vault ID# with two individual entries, rather than these bundle packaged copies myself.
Bundle projects will get duped with the Migrate Bot as well because of the project name not matching the legacy vault name.
yup, already discussed/resolved in PM, so feel free to pull dupe comments
(in future will just make dupe report for amins to decide)
(Migrate bot also checks for filenames BTW, so grouped entries are not much of issue as far as auto-migration goes...)
I find Leto extremely useful for making races and classes feel more correct for how I imagine them. This normally involves adding and subtracting feats to change the flavour of the PC.
Quick question, I followed all the steps, (wanted to add a feat or two) did the changes to the sav file, chose my character & such.
But it didn't change anything. I don't get an error or anything. It just looks like it works. I go ingame, and it doesn't do anything. If anybody would know the problem, i'd really be grateful.
Thx in advance.
Awesome tool! Unfortunately (and I don't even know if this will be answered since the game is so old) it's throwing up an error for me upon editing my save. The error says: "Out of memory while expanding memory stream"
Norton AV is flagging this file with a false positive. See this thread for comparative tests by two other antivirus programs which cleared both versions of Leto.
i'm adding feats to my character, but when i load my save feats not there
When I try to follow this link:
http://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/other/tool/leto-169-prc-compati...
from a user under a nickname: Carcerian, I get the following error:
Access Denied
You are not authorized to access this page.
I wonder why? If I am a registered user.
Thanks in advance.
You still can get it from nexusmods
If you're referring to post #1, that was a duplicate page that has been deleted (which you'll discover if you correct the url to read https rather than http).
Everyone finding difficulties while changing feat or other things in the current save game you are doing it wrong. I found this guide by olnorton somewhere on old forums and now I can edit my characters in the current save game:
You need to edit your player in the xxxxxx.sav
Open your saved game. (where you edited your player.bic)
At the bottom where it says "Files of type" select "From List in file"
Select xxxxxx.sav
scroll to the bottom of the list & select Module IFO
Then edit your player or companion in the Mod_PlayerList.
Then Save As Save as type: Into List from file
select xxxxx.sav & confirm overwrite.
Module IFO/player name
OK
Thanx a lot mate! You saved my game :)
Very useful to edit henchmen - simply load and save them from within the sav file of a save game.
I have come 3 years late to ask how you edit henchmen. From what I can see, I can only edit the PC, not the henchmen.
Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out.
Wow, this tool is old if it doesn't let me search through it easily.
Edit #2: Nevermind again, I keep getting the Lvl1 version of the henchman, not the leveled version currently in the party.
I've tried twice, making sure I'm in the right save, so I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
Edit #3: I literally just had to scroll up to see the solution, Jesus Christ
Beautiful. Always easier to use Leto to modify characters instead of creating a module to do it.
Classic tool that works great. Take note, if you are trying to modify a character in an existing saved game the process is different than just modifying a local vault character. Read the manual.
I get an error, "Out of memory while expanding memory stream" when I try to save a character inside a save. Any idea what this means?
Leto generally works, even under EE, but not for some people, it seems.
Try this fix:
https://forum.neverwintervault.org/t/leto/4540
Also try making Leto an AV exception.
If neither work, try the workaround towards then end of this thread:

Im not getting any errors whatsoever, it simply does nothing after altering a save. anybody else having the same issues?
Make sure you are reading the full user manual. The process for editing a save game character, save game henchman is completely different from how you edit a local vault character. Vastly different.
My precious.
i recall, years ago, there was a process to EXPORT an NPC and save them as a PC.
I think this was done with Leto,
I, however, can not remember, nor can i find on the web anything beyond "just use Leto."
If indeed Leto can export an NPC and save them as a PC, what, exactly, are the steps. (assume i have never used Leto)
Thanks! :D
