Description | |
It is the year 1369DR. Not too long ago most of the evil city of Zhentil Keep has been destroyed by the evil god Cyric. Weakened by these events the Zhents are desperately seeking for a weapon against their mortal enemy: Hillsfar. You are asked by a local temple of Lathander to seek out clues on a monster terrorizing the area. In your search, you meet a young girl. Both the Red Plumes from Hillsfar and the Zhentarim seem very interested in her. In your attempt to uncover the mysterious past of the child, you will travel to the city of Zhentil Keep, its ruins and its underground dungeons. Your character will be set at appropriate level at the beginning of the module and will be given equipment. There are a few sub quests for those who explore. There are three henchmen, and you can have two of them with you at any time. You can resurrect them if they die although there is no respawning for player characters. |

Nicely done. Having two henchies was fun and I think the bomb effects were truly unique in my experience (hundreds of modules!). Thanks for this one, LatH123!
Good Module and designing. Enjoyed the cutscenes and interaction, also henchmen were helpful when getting stuck. Hopefully there will be more mods from this designer.
Nice little Moonsea adventure with enough lore for anyone not familiar with the setting to learn a bit about it (in appropriately portioned doses). It features some original area design, custom content and neat cutscenes, as well as balanced encounters and economy. Your character will be stripped of all items and gold at the beginning of the module and then receive 30k to spend in a shop before starting, which some might think annoying, but I actually liked it, as it made sure I was not overpowered and could still enjoy combat and appreciate all the great magical items I would find. The only thing that could have been improved upon is the writing, which was generally fine, but lacked the last bit of polish (some repetition, typos, missing words, slightly off expressions etc. - the author also warns about not being a native speaker). All in all, I thought it was pretty good, especially for its age.
I only found one bug in it: the red plume soldiers and the girl involved in a cutscene near the beginning of the module re-appear at the crossroads if you come back to it after visiting Zhentil Keep. Fortunately, the cutscene is not replayed, so the NPCs just stand there and can easily be ignored.
