Very well-designed module. Dialogue is well-written, and combat is difficult enough to keep you interested.
This one truly gives a different "feel" than most NWN campaigns/modules. It does an excellent job at making you feel like you're one part of a growing community, and the wide variety of areas that you can explore (including areas that are too advanced for your character at first, so you can make plans to explore them later) makes it feel truly open-world and allows you to set long-term goals for yourself. You get a real sense of accomplishment once you're able to clear areas that were once too dangerous for you.
I will say that players should be advised that your character will be solo for most of the game, so certain character classes (like Bard and Rogue) will likely struggle. Not knowing this, I played through as a Rogue, and while most areas stealth and patience were enough to get by, others made it impossible to avoid getting swarmed, which is usually death for a Rogue. The other kinda weird thing is the "favor" system--sometimes, you need a certain amount of favor with someone to advance a quest, but there's no way to check that favor and sometimes no active ways to increase it.
I haven't gotten very far in the second module, mostly because it feels like the opposite to this one in that it's a much more typical NWN adventures. This one, however, I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys something a little bit different, who doesn't mind having to exercise patience, and who likes a bit of a challenge.
A little bit more guidance would be good, and some Boots of Speed as well (you´re running around a lot)
But overall, it's excellent. Too bad that part 3 was never released.
(um, i actually played the CEP-Version ...)
Played it with my husband and we had much fun (we opted for non limited rest tho, as he plays spellcaster).
