| (Version 1.04: A big thank to Ginni, which already revised a part of the translation in this version.) This module is the updated bilingual version (english and german) of my module: "Das Lied der Götter", which was originally released in November 2004. Description : Being the leading actor of the crisis-ridden Mathiny-Theatre, thankfully your popularity among the female audience does not suffer much from the notorious lack of coin in your purse. And, being a clever guy and all, solving the mystery surrounding the fire that destroyed the old theatre and plunged Mathiny, the owner, into quite a plight, shouldn't pose too great a problem, right? But sometimes the Lady Luck lets down even her most favored ones and so, together with an audacious young lady of noble rank, you will be setting out to hurl yourself into adventures taking you to the most strange and dangerous places... "The Song Divine " is a module for bards that puts great emphasis on conversations, skill use and puzzles, still there will be quite a few times when battles will need to be fought and the sword will need to be mightier than the pen. Solid module for bards and bard multiclass characters. Took my bard 1 to a bard 4/ fighter 4. There is a lot of roleplay invovled, in the form of multiple dialogue options as well as conversation skill checks. Combat isn't too difficult and the story is rather unique.
Only issues experienced were having trouble finding a certain shop and how a certain henchman fails to level up and comes with mediocre stats.
Excellent work by the original author and the translators!
Hit an EE problem on area transition from Base of the Dragonspine Mountains to The Gnomes - level1. The game crashes when you click the hidden door.
I edited the game version to load the save game in NWN, which allows the transition to work. This is OK until you try to go upstairs and the problem with doors after loading an EE game save into NWN occurs (ie the door has no transparent area to click). Loading the game into EE allows you contine, however, although you can exit to the Dragonspine area, you can’t go back without crashing the game.
Up until this point, everything was working fine.
Excellent module: great and very original story, good humour and enjoyable characters. I don't like mandatory riddles tho, and perhaps there is too much filler combat for my tastes.
Original story and good roleplaying. And it's a mod for Bards, there are not many of them.
Missing dldg.tlk file. Nowhere that I could see. Readme says it is in the "English folder", which I did not see either! Help anyone?
Songdivine.rar contains an English folder, which contains dldg.tlk, when opened with RAR on Android. Maybe check that you have the latest version of WinRAR, 7zip or whatever?
Got it after expanding to a separate folder, not my Downloads one. Didn't show up the first two times. Thanks once again Proleric! You're a life saver!
I really liked this effort. It was tightly put together and had great interactions between PC, henchpersons and NPCs. There was a bit of a lack of equipment so you might want to bring in some of your own. You can have up to two helpers so you may want a fair amount of gear to dole out. The story was interesting, all seemed to work and the ending was very satisfying. I would suggest referring to the Readme fairly often or you may miss things, and certainly it made the riddles and other complexities easier.
One hint: In the Hall of Frozen Heroes, bash all the lights before equipping the Harp, then things proceed. Otherwise you just stand there like an idiot! I had never played as a Bard, and still didn't really as I immediately Multi-classed to a fighter, but it was still a divergence from the usual Hack n Slash stuff. Very fine work, and for the most part the conversion to English was excellent.
