STORY
"It's that time again ... the dark time of the year when the line between the world of the living and the dead collide ... and you get to eat pumpkins and pretend to be a monster. For a short while.
You are an average hero that's decided that the best place to celebrate Halloween this year is to travel to the most remote location you can find in the middle of nowhere. In this case that place is called "The Red Dragon Inn". The caravan people that you traveled with is here celebrating as well.
But the question is ... was all this really a good choice on your part? ... no. The truth is that you're about to enter one of the worst nightmares you've ever had called ... Samhain's Eve."
** FEATURES **:
*Scary and gloomy atmoshpere, PERFECT for Halloween!
*A dark and unsettling story, also PERFECT for Halloween!
*Haunting horror-soundtrack that increases the mood by at least 100 %!
*Fitting Halloween haks used to enhance the experience (like pumpkins, zombies etc)!
*The beginning features some nice comic-lines!
*Features quick references to a few of the characters from the Official Campaigns and from my own Surviving Horror series!
*A Gear-Chest is available in the beginning (with Equipment and Potions) for those who don't feel like downloading the Character Creator before playing!
** WARNING **: This is a Dark Fantasy story inspired by the Silent Hill series, which means, even though this is a story with both heart, humor/comedy and light at its core; that it also contains a lot of graphical violence and disturbing/horrifying scenes. Player discretion is adviced.
** NOTES **:
* A short halloween adventure to celebrate Halloween 2009 for 10th Level Fighter-Oriented characters brought to you by the author of Calm before the Storm, A New Journey Begins and Surviving Horror 1 & 2.
* Auto-Level-Up and Gear (Armor, Shields, Swords, Rings & Potions) is available in the beginning but if you'll need any other equipment, you'll have to fix that before entering the module. If so, I recommend using the "Pretty Good Character Creator / Customizer (PGC3) powered by IGIPE" module made by styzygy & hohos before playing.
Happy Halloween everyone! :)

Very short and linear, but also very atmospheric and funny!
Thank you, glad you thought it was funny too, I wanted to implant some laughs as well, so glad to hear that came across! ^_^
Thank you for the vote and comment! ^_^
Samhain's Eve has its 14th anniversary today! Back in 2009, it was released just 3 days after Halloween.
To think it's been that long already. :P
This is a short and fun little model. I enjoyed playing it. <3
Glad to see you enjoyed Samhain's Eve! :) I remember loving creating it back in the day, so that's highly appreciated! ^_^ <3
Since you enjoyed this one, you're welcome to try my other NWN modules (I especially recommend Surviving Horror!) or check out my YouTube channel, by using the links below:

I don't normally enjoy the horror genre. Blame parents that thought it would be an excellent idea to introduce me to The Shining when I was eight.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Shining_(film)
Consequentially, I tend to hold the genre at an unreasonably high standard on the basis that a deranged man with an axe is far more terrifying than a haunted building that is easily defeated by just not going there in the first place. If I give Surviving Horror a go, I'll try to be constructive with any feedback comments that I have.
Well that was a pleasant 45 minutes! I was looking for inspiration since I'm currently working on something for Halloween. As a fellow Silent Hill fan I think you hit the right tone and atmosphere. Lots of placeables look cool but make pathfinding a bit harder - speaking of which, two clickable signposts at the inn neither do nor say anything of import.
Well done!
I feel honored to have the legendary thegeorge come over and play one of my own modules! ^_^
Glad to hear you liked it and thank you for the compliment regarding the right SH-tone and atmosphere, that means a lot! :P And thanks for the input. :)
Thank you! :)
You're also more than welcome to play my magnum opus, the Surviving Horror series, if you haven't already. :) I think those could act as inspiration as well, since Surviving Horror 1 is Resident Evil inspired, while Surviving Horror 2 is mostly Silent Hill inspired! :P
Looking forward to play your Halloween inspired module when it's done! ^_^
I've done a playthrough of Samhain's Eve and even done voice acting for all of the characters! :)
