N.B. You will also need the hakpaks & CEP version 1.68 listed under "Related Projects" to play.
It began with a dream. A dream of fate, a dream of sorrow. And through the dream the future wept, grieving for the lost tomorrow. For again the wheels of time shall turn. Without justice, without care. And once again shall darkness reign upon a world within despair. And though some had seen the coming storm, none could hold against its tide. For even gods must heed fate’s plan. That which is destined, cannot be denied.
This is the first module in the Prophet series, a short prologue to introduce the story. While this module can be played multi-player mode, it is intended for a single player who will be the central character for the subsequent modules in the series. Those subsequent modules may be played in either single- or multi-player mode.

I got Prophet 0,1,2,3 haks but it still says I'm missing some hak file :(
Do you have CEP 1.68 installed?
Hm, I have some CEP installed... Where can I check the version?
The tlk folder contains cep2_v1, cep21_v1, cep22_v1, and cep23_v1
Sorry if being lame
You need CEP1 and the CEP1 1.68 update for this to work. I've added the link to 'Required Projects' and to the CEP 1.68 project page. The CEP version you have is most likely CEP2 2.3/2.6.
CEP 1 is different. Try this (open with WinRAR):
http://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/hakpak/combined/cep-v1x-installer
Thank you all, I will do so.
The first cut scene seems to vibrate so it makes it hard to see what is going on. Subsequent cut scenes at the start of the mod are fine.
Is this a known problem or is there anything I can do to resolve this?
I seem to recall that I did have the same issue with a cut scene in another mod, which makes me think it is not the mod, but something about my setup or rig.
Any suggestions or comments will be very welcome and very much appreciated.
Do you have an edited camera? I noticed this with mods when I used the camera patch that came with NWNCX.
Many thanks for your response.
I don't have an edited camera - unless it has been inadvertently installed by something else. Is there anything I can check to see if something has been installed?
If you haven't installed it knowingly then chances are it isn't there, but if you had it'd probably be through the NWNCX (Client Extender) or the Improved Camera mod.
For the default camera, it could just be you had it zoomed out too far and it caused the cutscene to clip due to the angle it is at. That'd explain the rest of the cutscenes working fine.
I found a fix for this problem. As soon as the cutscene begins, Alt Tab to a different window. Alt Tab back. Press the spacebar.
Many thanks. I'll try this next time I see the same issue.
Thanks for the follow up.
Definmitely have not got any camara mods.
Next time will try not to zoom out to the max (which I usually do by default).
Just a thought, could it be related to the resolution I run the game in - 1920x1080?
I run at a similar resolution (1920x1200) and haven't noticed any problems related to it. Happy to help =)
I've experienced exactly this issue with the Gestalt camera functions. It seems to happen when the camera is close to (but still within) the official limits.
Sadly, I haven't found a way to fix this when playing other people's modules.
A builder could change the script to relax the camera position, or revert to the native Bioware functions. Sorry that doesn't help much.
Thanks for letting me know.
Prophet Series installation guide to help the newbies get into this masterpiece.
The beginning of an emotional series...
I have played with a female rogue used in both "The cave of songs" and "Honor among thieves"; to continue the Baldecaran modules with the same PC is a very charming experience...
Absolutely fantastic series! Everything about the story, the setting, the scenes was superbly crafted. The author put a ton of very hard work into this, as Aquarius above said, Masterpiece. This is one of the "must plays" on the Vault. This whole series is a 10!
Prophet Saga [Complete Let's play]

Quite a disappointing module. I also don't know if I'm going to continue onto the next part, Prophet I.
Pros:
The setting is very good! The module's environments are very creative, and there's no problems with the layout of the environments. What's more, the pacing of the module is also fairly good. The music is good too, and there's a nice touch of some Icewind Dale themed music. The story is also very good as well, but it's a shame that a lot of other problems are present with module.
Cons:
Unfortunately there are some problems with the module. First and foremost, at the beginning of the module they place you in a room that has bookcases that try to introduce you into the setting, but the setting is so hastily explained that it will just end up leaving you very confused. The module is also very short. My BIGGEST gripe is that there's a level 5 min. required to play the module. Why? I understand the few enemies they have are hard, but there's barely any fighting in the module.
It will also annoy you half-to-death that Prophet I has a level minimum of level 8, if you're playing solo. In the prologue, this module, I didn't even get HALFWAY to a new level up. And I already found it completely ridiculous that I had to auto-level up the new character I created for this prologue. Because I played by myself, I had to use the halfling companion. Which was nice, it was great to have some support.
However, at the end of the module, the bard in the Hobgoblin Tavern recommends you wait around for another companion, if you plan to do the module alone for the next chapter. I planned to play alone, so I waited around for someone called Florien Dellanar (sorry if I spelt his name wrong). He NEVER showed up.
I'm sorry, but the module is sloppy. If you set a min. level for a module, that's fine. But I sincerely expect to reach the minimum level *AT LEAST* in order to continue on to the next module.
The reason level requirements in Chapter I are higher than the Prologue is that the Prologue is meant to be played solo by the Prophet character even if you are planning on playing the series in co-op, for which level 5 would be perfectly fine. Should be stated more clearly in the readme, I suppose.
Very short module that has one area that crashes ruining the game.
Module is meant to be a short intro before the massive subsequent chapters. The crash is probably due to a water display glitch. Turn off that option in the video settings.
I recently played through a long series of small-medium sized modules for NWN 2, and with each one I played, I felt more certain that I wanted to come back to NWN 1 solely to play through this one again. Baldecaran has built a beautiful and powerful example of what games can really do and I can never shower it with enough praise. Well met indeed.
An incomparably good series.
There is only one word to define this series: A MASTERWORK.
I think that the last time that I found myself emotionally shattered like this was when I played Planescape:Torment and considering that I am probably talking about one of the best RPG ever made it should give you the measure of what you should expect if you'll decide to play this wonderful series. One of the most powerful, original, gritty and depressing story that I've seen. Ever. I think that Prophet Series can be really considered a piece of art and that it deserves a place in the history of gaming.
Awesome beginning, love your work!
Apparently the cep.exe file does not install correctly. Quite a frustrating experience trying to get this mod to work.
Installed everything referred to here - still staring at "missing hak file" screen
Still missing hak files according to the game. Which CEP version am I supposed to use?
Try using CEP1 Complete.
Argh my bad - I've been installing this files into the steamapps folder and not the documents folder
This module is a rather slow introduction to an otherwise great series. Fortunately, it's quite short, and helps to explain the story that follows.
I rated all of the modules in the series on the old (IGN) vault, but believe it's worth commenting again here. Also worth noting that it's playable in multiplayer.
As many first mods are, this one is somewhat crude in comparison with the rest of the series, especially technically. That said, it's still well worth playing and the core ideas are introduced and handled well. Rating for this mod is a 7 (still good, not grading on a curve). For the series it's a 10. And that's not the "it's fine" kind of 10, it's the "top experiences of a lifetime" kind of 10.
Wonderfully slow introduction that really sets the stage for an epic campaign. In single player mode, it is highly recommended that you go through the author's Cave of Songs and Honour Among Thieves before this campaign - it will not only familiarise you with the custom setting, but actually provide your character with a very fitting backstory that lets their newfound 'talent' appear in a new light. In multiplayer, I would suggest splitting them between players, to give the other characters a past that helps them to stand out against the Prophet character.
The Valley of the Four Corners is gorgeous as always, and I loved the little callbacks to the earlier modules. Norenshire came as an alluring respite from the cesspool of intrigue that was Endorr in Honour Among Thieves. The one gripe I have is Merudoc's odd build choices - his family blade is a short sword, yet his weapon focus is in rapiers?
The beginning of a promising adventure. Very attentive and with great interest. The story told is amazing. Being a Prophet will be rather subversive. I will see things that I do not expect to happen I'm sure. Now I play the first chapter. Let's see...
Module Testing Tournement 2020
i had a bit of an issues with this module in the ee. after you talk with the mayor your henchmen is supposed to run over to the inn and your supposed to fallow him. he jsut stands there after the conversation with the mayor.
Nice easy module to let you slowly get immersed in an absolutely amazing story line and series of modules!! Thank you.
One mystery that has plagued my throughout the series, though, was the comment that an elven prince gave his ring of authority to some peasant woman. Was it possible to find that ring? Is that a reference to "Honor among Thieves"?
Yes it is! :) It is probably the most unlikely easter egg I have ever encountered. SPOILER: It can be pickpocketet from a female commoner in HAT, but you won't be able to tell it from a regular copper ring due to the glamour placed on it. If you bring it all the way to Rithsilvane, you are in for a treat.
10 stars. nice, short module with excellent storytelling to immerse u into the start of the Prophet series.
if you'd like to watch my playthrough of it, it's on YouTube, here - https://youtu.be/6yOTHilNFVk
