Mordenkainen's Second trial V1.1 Chapter 2 of War of the Wizards Series. By destroying the fiendish gargoyle, you've successfully completed Mordenkainen's first trial. Now, it seems two young elves ventured out of Five Oaks, and one of them was captured by orcs. If you save the boy, this will complete the second trial. An other dungeon adventure, this time it's in the ruined temple of Sehanine Moonbow. This is a hack'n slash adventure for the same characters as the first trial. (SEE THE READ-ME!!!) Rated teen but contains 'STRONG' language! (YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!) ZW. |

Probably a fun module...Spoilers:
When I get to the Elven rangers campsite, the one that sells the rope crashes the game, just like every other merchant interface. This is a problem because I must have a rope to climp up the hill! So the game is essentially over at this point. Should be a Dexterity Check in lieu of the rope, I feel.
Earlier, I did get through the first trial, and eventually found my way out of the crypt, very tough without a map. Because I opened a crate or two, the merchant in the tent will not deal with me, as I have a reuptation for "long fingers". Never had this in other modules, and it is very annoying! The Rest rules are very restrictive also. Needs some improvements for me to give it a good score, that is for sure!
Have you updated CEP 1 to the latest version? That might fix the merchant crashes.
I have not played a module like this one before. The total control exerted by the author is something that I do not enjoy and it really detracted from the fun factor to say the least. The player is limited in level, equipment, gold and henchman interface, although it is not the worst. Couple that with the lack of a minimap in some very convoluted tunnel systems and such, and I just give up. Too bad as it certainly was a result of a lot of work, but I like to call my own shots, not be directed on how to play.

I will update this series ASAP, I will probably be able to upload something by the end of 2018 or sometime in 2019.
ZW.
Worse then the blackwall keep by the same author.
That does not mean it wasn't a nice thing to play.
Few issues:
- outdated CEP haks apart from Familiar store crashes also cause weird "hitting" sounds. If you upload cep1patch169.hak above it(and thus overwriting it) the problem would be solved.
- no restoration/antidote, also no NPC healer(there are diseasing mobs)
- putting back stolen items makes you still steal them and makes you more chaotic
