As the module starts you are at a loose end in the village of Gesmachtsache, the last civilized village between here and Schwarzburg. Gesmachtsache is a small but reasonably wealthy place, so perhaps you could find a little work here ..? This is a beta version; what's already included is complete (2-3 main quests and a side quest) but I'm going to add more side quests and a few more areas at some point. At the moment I'm looking for feedback on how what I've already done hangs together. |
The uploader's notes:
Note #1
I've fixed several things not working properly - in several conversations, scripts & journal entries
(for example: 1. player is now correctly rewarded only once for finishing the druid's quest - the bug in convo with the druid has been fixed; 2. the items, gold and XP points - for finishing two main quests - are now correctly obtained from the quest givers),
added 'plot' tag to a specific item, etc.
Then I rebuilt the module under NWN + SoU + HotU 1.69 (thus the requirements for playing the fixed version are: OC+XP1+XP2)
I've included this version in the .7z file (A Matter of Taste FIX.mod), alongside with the original one.
Note #2
The module listed under 'Related projects' (Just Inn Time) is actually the same module by the same author (PandaLord), but uploaded to the old NWVault under different name. It's essentially an earlier (by a month) beta version of A Matter of Taste.

6/10 - Pretty straightforward, but decently made, hack & slash module. Now with all (hopefully) the most irritating bugs fixed. :)
Level 8 PC (single player) would have hard life in the module unless well equipped. I played with lv 8 Barbarian - with good equipment from earlier adventures - and died a couple of times.
A henchmen (Cleric/Fighter) is available, but not at the beginning.
Expect to advance a level or two during the game, since XP rewards for finishing the quests are quite generous.
A continuation of the story was probably planned, but never done.
Alright in many places. The henchman that you can get is very weak and not able to be outfitted, so he dies easily. That Inn is in the wrong place, I would say!
