played from the old vault
I've updated the project. Among else: added 2 intro movies (in flash format), including the unique special version for Orcs. ;)
Good adventure well worth a couple of play-thru's
Liked it. Especially the henchman interface allowing for access to their backpacks. Story was good, one weird place was the temple out in the desert. I had to walk over a character lying at the foot of the stairs, Elrinde Galitte was the name. Couldn't talk to her although she wasn't hurt. I then proceeded to be killed by the baddie inside a couple of times. Perhaps she had something to say about this? Also the desert merchants did not have anything to say either, just sold some okay stuff. And the Formian Queen right next to them in the cave had nothing to drop? Weird.
All in all most things worked and it was a good adventure.
I decided to play this one because it had an 8.92 with 49 votes on the old vault. I am glad I did.
I played this one through with a 10th level human bard with 1.69 and CEP 1.X and did not find any game breaking bugs. The only real issue I had was with the henchmen. They would sometimes refuse to fight. I tried everything I know to change the behavior to no avail. I tried different henchmen, still no luck. Usually they would pick up half way through the fight and start fighting?? It was a minor annoyance that did not really take away from the game once I knew it was happening. It did change my tactics a bit.
The module, though not unique, was well done and quite fun. There were some interesting takes on old themes, some nice modifications of standard fare and some neat other world/game references. The battles were all fairly evenly matched for my character/level. There were no overly large areas with endless spawns. Most of the quests are short and succinct. I enjoyed this module. It was a fun few hours and I would play it again.
Kudos to the team who are credited in the module for their hard work on this one. The team clearly put a ton of hard work and hours into this one.
The trolls are terrible, takes forever to take one down. Two of the henchs are rangers, it's the old ranger bug, so much for EE.
I'll keep playing though.
There are henchmen in this module? I've not been able to find any.
