A very simple 'go find the item and bring it back.' Good for a new character or if you just wanna play a little tiny quest. This is my first attempt at a module, more and better to come soon. |

Sounds like not a true storyline; thanks for your contribution though.
Did you actually play it, or are you just speculating?
My first review!
I've given this a 7/10 - It's solid and good for almost any class at level 1.
-1 because the author didn't set the module name to properly display in-game whereby save games are listed as "test_module" which was a bit sloppy given everything else was pretty solid.
-1 because the quest maguffin is simply called "Crazy Thing" which just seemed rather lazy.
-1 to be fair to any comparable first-attempt module that features greater scope, effort or ambition.
+7 because, although this was a super simple and short module, it's a first attempt and everything seems to work just fine.
There are two forest areas.
The first features the quest NPC and a shop NPC. The enemies here took my level 1 ranger to level 2. I recommend trying to avoid the enemies getting too close to the NPCs or you will miss out on some kills. A pure mage type with no tank or back up might struggle, though luring enemies to the NPC might help survival.
The second area features new enemies and took my ranger from level 2 to level 4. This area features another friendly NPC that isn't available as a hench but will heal you (repeatedly) if you ask for it. This NPC can be used for back up if necessary by luring the enemies and although the NPC has a few tricks and can handle most enemies they can become overwhelmed and die because they don't seem to want to bother healing between fights so use them wisely.
There are some tougher enemies that may spawn in but they don't seem to be of any significance (though I completed the quest without needing to deal with them). Finally, there is the boss that seemed like it was going to be quite a tough task but it focussed on the friendly NPC (didn't kill them) and my ranger actually killed it.
There are 3 reward items, sort of covering your standard fighter/mage/rogue architypes. The one for fighter is a -1 DEX but +2 AC helmet, there's a robe for casters with a light effect or a ring for rogues or anyone else with a green light effect.
I'd recommend this hack 'n' slash module as a starter for new level 1 solo characters (but casters be wary) if the player feels like an hour or two (absolute most) in the woods in areas that are not empty or overly large.
The author seemed open to (email) feedback with a view to more content creation but it doesn't seem like that ever happened.
