Description | |
A forgotten evil, now awakened, has grown in power... Despite your recent liberation of Ironclaw Keep from the humanoid hordes, you now find yourself in a terrible predicament. Sent by Lord Galen to help defend the port city of Tyn Mawr from a pirate siege, you were ambushed by the very men you were sent to defeat! Now you must escape an uncertain fate at the hands of your captors and deliver the citizens of Tyn Mawr from the evil which now grips their once-shining city. Soon, you shall learn the true breadth of Tyn Mawr's suffering. Soon, you shall unwrap the secret motivations of those who would conquer these lands. And soon, a long-forgotten evil shall show its face to you once more... A continuation of my "Forgotten Evil" series, this module takes you far across (and deep beneath) the Sea of Fallen Stars. Included within this (mostly) underwater adventure are a number of new and/or updated creatures: Caryatid Column, Centaur, Gas Spore, Giant Sea Snake, Giant Sea Spider, Green Slime, Ixitxachitl, Kopoacinth (Marine Gargoyle), Kuo-Toa (Monitors & Whips), Lacedon (Marine Ghoul), Marine Beetle, Merrow (Marine Ogre), Nereid, Olive Slime Creature, Piercer, Scrag (Marine Troll), & Stone Guardian. NOTE: You MUST also have the afe1.hak - from the previous chapter - installed in your HAK directory. You may find it bundled with the download below. |

I hope part 3 gets done.
Probably never :c
What was the update?
I just bundled the files together on this page and Chapter 1. No content changes or anything like that.
-1 for excretiments... that is disgusting... and unfortunately plenty abound in Sir Otus' modules.
Hmm... Impassable Script Error Found...
I am Most of the way through playing this, actually, and I find it is Scripted to Seize up.
Great interaction & plots & side-quests so far, BUT...
When meeting up with Grlach-Uul the Pirate Lord in the Inner Sanctum Area, the PC is thrown into a CutScene from which s/he never can recover... It doesn't matter how many times you try that room. Glad I saved game upon entering it...
Details: Exploring with the Toolset in midstream due to this condition, I found within the Conversation with Grlach-Uul, at the END DIALOGUE Command, a Script titled: "grlachend" with the Command: SetCutsceneMode(oPC, TRUE) ... OOPS. According to the definitions for that Command, "TRUE moves them into cutscene," while "FALSE removes cutscene mode."
Since it's the end of the Convo~, then to "move PC into cutscene" means the action can NEVER begin again, the module will NEVER continue, and the only solution is to "Control-Alt-Delete" & go away from the game... Since this module is Ranked Very Highly, how did ANYONE move past this scripted obstacle?
The Script should say: SetCutsceneMode(oPC, FALSE) to END cutscene at END DIALOGUE. Surely I can re-write that in Script, Save the Module as an "Edited Version of A Forgotten Evil Chapter 2," and re-play that whole module from the beginning, Gasp, but hey... What did everyone else of the 1,734 downloads who voted this into the Top Module List do at this point ?
Clearly, a LOT of labor & insight went into this Module; it IS Good, really good; it reminds me of the O/C & HOTU of NWN in quality, but with an impassable point written into it, I wonder who'all made it past this to a satisfying end to vote on it ... ?
Very Curious, I am, to know a workaround... Any advice, comments, or sheer mockery, et al, are all appreciated;-)
Again, there were some combats that were way too difficult but it was an interesting module. Would really have liked to see part 3.
ok, not great. nice story tho
As much as I'd like to finish it and give it a higher rating, I can't because the technical issues were too much for me. There appears to be a .2da file or something else that affects the interaction range or speed of characters, causing NPCs and the PC models to be out of sync with their actual coordinates constantly. Players and NPCs ended up teleported everywhere, as well as attacking each other before even within range.
Underwater exploration was a huge plus for the module, in addition to the many main and side quests to do in the town. You can even visit the brothel for interesting 'lessons'. Area design is not as bad as the previous, but you'll have to fight the same groups of enemies over and over. By the time I had done the most of the side quests, I decided enough was enough. I couldn't stand characters teleporting all over the place and these repetitive encounters anymore.
I had played this before but for some reason my review did not show up. I felt that some of the aspects of this mod were a bit out of whack.
Spoilers:
The difficulty in navigating the sewers with disease and exploding gas, and all with just one HP and no equipment was a bit excessive I think, as were the timed (but sped up) fireball apparati. I was also disappointed by the lack of Henchpersons, as they were very prevalent and useful in the first mod in the series. I am currently stuck in the Sewers, blocked by an impervious Huge Green Slime! It doesn't move and cannot be damaged, so how the hell am I supposed to get by? Any hints are welcome.
Great module! I found some technical errors but overall the interaction was fun and interesting. The huge green slime was impossible and hard to understand its design. I had to manually override the monster to continue. I was curious to see this monster immune to many types of hits and also block the access to continue. The water adventures were good and cutscenes were buggy. Great design.
