TY for uploading :)
Cant DL the files! Once I click the link, a whole screen of gibberish appears.
that's an isue with your browser reading .mod file as a movie and loading it up on screen.
Solution:
Right click and "save as"
Still can't download. The only option I get for "save as" is HTML document.
You need to right-click the link on this very page. Forgive me for not making my own screenshot, but I have got different language setting.
I tried "save target as", and got only the HTML option.
I have repacked it for you. Could you tell us what browser and OS you have?
Hi folks,
I had no trouble downloading and/or installing, but I was wondering if there are any "Walkthru's" or Hunts/Tips for this Mod? I'm enjoying it a lot so far, but I have questions and would love a little guidance. Maybe the author's email would help?
As always, thanks in advance! :-)
After taking some time off, I started playing again and found a 'transition' area that I had missed before. Somehow I finally finished the Mod last night and I really enjoyed it! There was a TON of time & effort put into this amazing adventure, and I highly recommend it!! :-)
(A Walkthrough and/or guide would be a huge help, but don't let that stop you from checking this one out!)
I'm not nearly as impressed with this mod as everyone else. The balancing was very poor. There is no way a pair of legal level 6 characters could complete this mod. We had to try again as level 12 and get some uber equips. Even then, it was still hard. Well some of the encounters were and some of them were rediculously easy.
Another problem is that many of the scripts did not work for multiplayer. There were no cutscenes and after the final battle in the grove, only one of us got teleported out. The Wizards tower did not have an exit door, we had to get out via DM assistance. The temple did not unlock, but we could bash it. Little things like that threw off the tempo of the mod. Also we felt very rushed through the mod. We completed it, but had many unfinished journal entries.
But the mod was very pretty and had some neat extras like ''swimming'' and fishing. It had nice writing as well. With a few fixes, it could really be great.
You should take at least 7th level characters, but I think it would end up the same.
As I wrote at old vault:
Extremely unbalanced for 14th level bard/rdd (solo). Some creatures yielded only 2 XP, while others managed to kill me with little effort(first fight?). In the end I had to give gold instead of receive it to manage to survive. Probably if I started it with 10lvl character, it would scale properly(only 1 super strong creature instead of 5 for example).
- some encounters drop in just before you(shadows and spiders are ok, but the rest?)
- first of 3 sisters does not start fight, dind't know what to do, decided to use heal spell. It worked and nothing was broken.
- "hobbit", halfling would be more proper
- "we, ours etc." - it is assumed you play multi
- fishing just takes too long
- couldn't use the pick - no proficiency
- no bags of holding until gnomes in the maze(and only 4 of lesser types)
- black render has description of a grey one(with the word grey used)
- glow beetle fought my pixie henchie
- respawning encounters while sailing(bugbears)
- door in the tower of hiding wizard closes itself and becomes unopenable, good the familiar teleports you away
- the ancient bear(poulta) does not acknowledge that the first spring's leaf is restored
I am finally getting around to playing this one. It has a 9.04 with 153 votes on the old vault. The level range did indicate somewhere between 7 and 15 to start. I chose 11 with an Elven Druid 7/Ranger 4. I played through with 1.69 and did not find any game breaking bugs.
I enjoyed this module. It is a linear story that is well written. As indicated in other posts the module has some unique scripting in some of the areas which really add to the flavor of this module.
The battles are pretty wide ranging from super easy with 2xp to some that took me a couple of reloads to complete.
Kudos to the author who clearly put a ton of hard work into this module.
Nice, Werelynx says it all
This was a fun adventure and all seemed to work with the main quest finishing well. There were a few side quests, like the bears and Druid, that really didn't matter to the main one, and didn't happen for me. But the overall experience was one of urgency and interesting areas and it is always great to bash Drow! I liked the fact that things could work out for the main folk involved. Not a great amount of loot, although there was some to be found. No henchperson that I could find, except the Pixie, which I did not think fit my image as a great solo hero!! ;-)
Spoiler:
I was stuck for a while with my Fighter PC on how to get into the Rift, but there are potions available around the immediate area that can get one through the gales! Sorry for the spoiler.
A tremendous effort that is nearly perfect, although a few of the smaller things did not seem to work. The main storyline was decent and the combat was challenging. The areas were varied and offered up some interesting gear from time to time. No henchie except the Pixie, who I tried out and then left back in the tree. For sheer size and length of play I feel it was very well crafted indeed. The one bug that I found was that the first time I tried to sail the Drow Ship, it got stuck in the middle of ocean with sporadic visits from Water Elementals, but I was there for 20 minutes! I finally did a reload and things progressed the correct way. A fine module for a well equipped PC. Make sure you have lots of room for all the various items that you need to collect along the way. Thanks for this great effort!
For optimized warrior classes only. I tried with a 10th level Rogue and had to stealth my way through everything - but can't really progress that way (no xp). Every encounter is a spawn so no way to plan strategy. Almost impossilbe for anyone except a min maxed combat character to deal with 10 Shadow Fiends & Lords spawning directly on top of you...
Gave up.
How do I get the ship to sail? I've learned about sailing and selected sail now, but nothing happens.
Very creative module with good use of the engine. It was fun completing the main quest but a bit confusing on side quests. Suggest a walkthrough or hints to some quests. Interesting use of transportation to move around, reflects the power of this toolmaker.
Nice module with a linear story. I had to cheat twice, because my character couldn't deal with some encounters that came up no matter how hard I tried. But in the end it was worth it.
