Description | |
A module designed specifically for solo play. `The Dweller in the Darkness - a name for a thing which has never been seen nor heard, but leaves behind an aftermath of grisly slaughter and horror. It attacks in the night - always in the night. The bodies- or what`s left of them - have been torn limb from limb and scattered about. Sometimes you can find marks where they have been clawed or gnawed, and parts of the body are missing, particularly the liver. Its mystery gives it a special dread, for the unknown is the most menacing.` |

I liked this old module! I used to play it from time to time back in the day when it first came out, and it had a very unique plot to say the least. The monster in it was very unusual, not the typical fare for this sort of story, and the way your follower would comment on things was done very well. A rather bug-free module too, if I remember my play of it correctly. Nothing flashy, but it doesn't need to be flashy to be good! :)
Not sure what was supposed to occur here beyond the carrion crows and meeting the NPCs, most of which clammed up after a first conversation. Did not get anywhere so have left this small module. Tried all areas and NPCs with no luck moving things forward...
Yes, I think you are right; I had no clue on how to progress further. Talked to the monk in the hermitage, waited for the mob to leave the witch alone and my monk companion keeps on talking like Bruce Lee...
Found a doll into a hole in the forest, maybe some NPC should be interested...
Anyway it keeps a tense atmosphere (Huntoon is good at that), just 3 or 4 typos so far.
I took this mod on the heroic tier since I played a fighter with Neverwinter Raids (one of the latest modules); this one seeemed good to continue the "story" of my new character.
Casting a vote when I figure a way out unless someone might give some advice here.
No way... seems something's wrong with the scripts when the mob is threatening the witch.
A strange bug: since I could not progress further I attacked the witch and the door was finally accessible; I opened that and found the witch again inside, this time with her ogre.
A pity, the story seemed promising.
