Description | |
DW4: Dark Sun Setting is a combination of all four previous Darksun World modules Dw0 - DW3. It is set in the Forgotten Realms World of Athas and is in the Tablelands surrounding Draj, and Tyr. This game is multi or single player and was inspired by the upcoming Community Module Project. |

Here it is again. I recommend playing this compilation of all four modules. The others are not as well developed and have some bugs still.
This version has eliminated redundant characters, but still has essentially the same plot.
Is it worth playing without DM? (Single player)
Great use of tilesets.
Dark Sun is not the Forgotten Realms at all, is another world completely, the world of Athas, and not Toril!
Hi, my husband and I try to play this module on LAN multiplayer, but while the hosting player can connect no problem, the second player (no matter which is it) has a message of missing hak appearing and can't join the server, would anyone be able to help me ? Obviously we both installed the required files, and in solo play no problem appears...
going to try to install and run this a third time. As I have grown more accustomed to now whats req for downloads, as much as I hope this mod is going to be good, don't you think that's an extreme amount of hak reqs for this mod?
You are opening up the user to screw up their systems so much for 1 mod. Just noticing that's going to be a huge part of why users do not play, they can't..just math and %.
K.I.S.S.
Tested with NNW:EE
Module crashes on loading.. every other time and exactly every other time. It goes like LOAD-FAIL-LOAD-SUCCESS-LOAD-FAIL-LOAD-SUCCESS
Emptying override or lowering graphics does not seem to affect this.
I have dropped this one after few hours of playing.
What is nice:
- new tilesets and some new creature models
QA: naming scheme is very ugly, especially when it doesn't refer to levels but northern/suthern etc. districts
- some tilesets are little rough and have messed up graphics
-
- not sure if the starting point is set correctly, nothing is explained and the monsters in the vicinity are strong
- many empty doors or with a broken transition
- no map pins.. and area transition on the ground are not obvious
- traps.. you can't disarm them and they are placed in strange places like under trees in city (slowing trap) or in the city canal (deadly acidic ones ugh)
- you can anger every NPC and make them hostile in conversation.. pretty annoying
- red guard(female) has male voiceset at Snarling Crod
- Crods have no animation
- at Funeral Morge II there are placeables inside the walls
- Death Priest attacks after the conversation for strange reason.. and killing him results in the whole city (Draj barbarian faction?) going after me. Factions don't reset after death..
- NPCs are mute often
- henchmen death is permanent
- Chest behind Throw in Draj City Sewers II is inaccessible
- large and repetitive areas with a lot of backtracking
- "Repositry" - Chao
- flickering placeables on the ground at Chao's
- Dung can be collected repeatedly from the same bucket..
- rewards for quests are very small compared to loot of some of the hostile NPCs
- Factions are broken in Snarling Crod and Coiled Drajian - fights break out and only handful NPCs survive those
