Concluding the story from Pts1 & 2, your journey takes you far into the Frozen North, to discover the true fate of William Goodsun and Rose LeDuget, so that you may clear your name and prove to the world that there is a traitor in the High Council of Haighmarsh. After finding a way to escape your inprisonment at the hands of Councillor Veldart, the Spirits of the Forge tell you of their waning power, and the awakening of their ancient and deadly enemy. You must travel into the depths of Karak N'Ar, a dread place where the dead do not rest, and ancient evils lurk. It is here that you will discover your true character, and, whatever choices you make, you can be sure that what you discover, and your own actions, will shake your beloved Haighmarsh to its very core..... There are a number of mysteries to solve on the way, and two possible endings. Included with is a chronicle of the events in Parts 1 & 2 so you can refresh your memory, or play this mod without having played pts 1& 2. |

Nice series
After a promising start, the final mod bites me ...
The PC is stripped completly and dropped in an area without any merchant. There is still the ... forge, which doesn't provide anything else than a mace or a longsword.
Then, the Hench(wo)man is the worst I've ever seen in a mod. Despite the given order to stay ranged, she runs into melee and gets killed within one turn.
Aside of this, the quests are quite solid, but what is it worth, if the fun is already spoiled with the setting.
Absolutely loved parts 1 & 2. I would have rated those as a 10 if there were map pins. Not crazy about the crafting system but I can live with that. Part 3's story line is great up until you get to Karak N'Ar. The puzzle to get into the door is ludacris.
**** MINOR SPOILER ALERT!! ****
I know that it has something to do with the 7 deadly sins. However, the puzzle is not in the correct order listed for the sins. The words on the headstones showing the order is gibberish. I googled every word thinking that it was Latin...and did not get even one hit on a definition. Now, I am stuck & keep getting attacked. The levers reset each time you get it wrong. Very time consuming & tedious. I might list my rating higher IF I can finish the mod. Right now... 5 & that is being generous.
***** MAJOR SPOILER ALERT SOLUTION TO PUZZLE IN CRYPT OF THE SINNERS *****
1. Prodesse = Pride
2. Cupiditas = Greed (believe it or not, would have thought Lust)
3. Lascivus = Lust
4. Angor = Wrath
5. Gluttire = Gluttony
6. Invidere = Envy
7. Laevus = Sloth
Read all of the headstones for hints. If you are still stuck, send me a private message & I'll send you the order.
This was one heck of a frustating module to play, especially after the second chapter did NOt strip items. The northern area had no merchant and no way to indentify items, finding the forge in the area was a bit difficult, and the items that you can create in the forge are not all that impressive. I got throughly sick of collecting herbs, and getting knocked around by lesser monsters! Getting up to Karak N'ar and finally finding some equipment was a real relief, even though the enemies were a bit too tough, I feel. The resting system was way too restirctive for areas that had high damage and no real regen capability available. the healing potions were weak and there were lots of enemies in mobs! This was the Lord of Fire Tomb and the most important to get done, I would say. I gave up on the above "sins" tomb, as it seemed too much bother.
Getting back to town was a breath of fresh air, in that the player finally got a real store and potions, gear etc that was useful. The final fight(s) were a bit easy and that was nice! All in all, a long one, and tough especially in the beginning. This developer loves to strip the PC down, in each of the modules that I have played that occurred! Wish it would not be that way...
Played this once again, and with a bit more cheating it was more enjoyable, sorry to say. Finally getting some decent gear was nice, but too bad about Miriam, huh? She seemed like a nice girl druid...A lot of work went into this trilogy and I enjoyed playing the three parts greatly. One hint:
Don't forget to ask the smyth in the village for a piece of gear, in my case it was a battleaxe, which I had a feat in. This helped an awful lot. Also, collect all the Juniper leaves you can, as they translate into Cure Moderate Wounds potions, which you will need! One weird thing that happened throughout this mod is that my dm_mylittlepony cheat would disappear over time, not on Reload as per usual. Also my extra Base Damage cheat would also be negated from time to time, not a big deal, but in this very minimalist game it was important to deal some damage quickly!
