Description | |
"Mystra is troubled but can not say why. Shar hates Mystra and gives the assassin Cyric a black cloak. The assassin steals upon the White Queen. She can't see him gliding through the shadows. The sword screams. The White Queen falls. The tree burns and thrashes in agony. Branches break. Branches twist and grow together....the Weave falls into shadow." -Alaundo's prophecy,The death of Mystra. "It is the doom of men that they never know quite enough wisdom, until it is too late." -Elminster of Shadowdale Virtually none of Faerun will remain unaffected by the Spellplague. Thousands of mages will be destroyed or go insane. With Mystra's death, the Weave, the universal structure of arcane magic, will convulse. Toril will be forever changed. What is to come will be darker still...the Shadovar. Empires will fall and new ones will rise. Many a hero will be lost to us. Only to be replaced by another champion. This is a dark time that needs, valor, might and courage. -------------------------------------- Special thanks to Luke Scull (Scripts) and Alazander (layouts from TOM) --------------------------------------- ***If you have not read the Ghost King and plan to, you may want to hold off from playing this mod. Some plot themes were used from the book.******* --------------------------------------- Special shout to my peeps in New York Oscar and Meliza Nues!!!!! You guys are very important to me. |
VAULT NOTE - This module is heavily based on Alazander's 'Tyrants of the Moonsea'.

This guy needs to be boycotted and mods removed from the vault.
Part 1 is Alazander's 3rd mod... LaMella just made visual alterations. But it plays exactly like "Tyrants of Moonsea".
If you go into the console, he left the original names of places there (Voonlar).
At the end of the module, Ken just credits himself for for creating all of it which he did not do... he PLAGERIZED it!
Due to reworking someone else's mod, many triggers, traps, and area transitions don't work. Once again, I had to use the console (DebugMode 1, period key) to get in.
The only thing worthy is that LaMella used some nice haks, but this is NOT an original creation.
I've also seen a reworking of the original "Spires of Ravenloft" just twisted and tweaked to suit his needs.
Hm. There is a sentence in the description:
Dunno if Ken asked Alazander for permission to use the layouts from "Tyrants of the Moonsea" (or Luke Scull - to use his scripts), but he credits them - at least in the description.
Forgot to vote: I should just give this guy a one for plaigerizing Alazander, yet at the end credits, just like Tyrants of Moonsea, LaMella gives himself ALL the credit!
I actually like Ken's modules. There's a lot of inconsistencies and bugs and it's useful to know your console. But there's always fireworks.Usually about ten different haks and CEP and even Project Q, in this one here for example. But you have to prepare for a bumpy ride.
Some examples: he really used the complete ToM and basically reskinned everything, so the description of the Zhent commander will still be that of the Death Slaad, that goes for many, many NPCs.Sometimes even the conversations don't match his story but are still the old convos from ToM.
In the (required) Arena battles the resting restrictions are still in place, which might just have you wait until you can rest again.
When you don't proceed in the the order he intended scripts might just treat you like you did, i just lost all my companons for some others who refuse to leave my side and the old ones still talk as if they were in my party.
So bad things do happen. But it all looks incredible, a simple Goblin fight makes you feel like shooting Lord of the Rings in exotic locations. So if you know what to expect it's usually a lot of fun, even though i can relate to Trixter's opinion.
Quite an undertaking! I enjoyed the sheer variety of places and environments, monsters and bosses. It was sometimes tough to figure out where to go and what to do, and the names of NPCs would not match their conversations and such. Also, you could take care of a problem and later on it would still be active, which was frustrating. The Death King was one of those perplexing things that just kept popping up! But overall, I liked the gear, the companions and the quests. What more is there to say?
