The Mayor's Mansion has too many bugs. A number of ways to exit the mansion have been removed. The latest version takes too many cheap shots. I'm just about ready to give up on the current version of this mod and savagely downgrade my ratiing.
Can I solve the "Spotted!" miniquest peacefully? Without talking to Nathan and sicking Vico on that guy?
One supposed solution is to meet him at home and then make him leave the city. But that did not work for me because he never appeared there (it's on Valine's bug list so it might be fixed in the next update... whenever that will be). Perhaps it's also possible in the first dialog to make him run away. If not then I guess at the moment there are only the perhaps violent solutions... or just ignore him.
I wonder if Valine even knows about this modification to her module and if she approves? She just disappeared years ago without a word.
@Dwayne The person doing the modification IS @Valine, so of course she knows.
TR
Sorry but it is not Valine. Read the first page about the module and the author name.
Valine and 2acornupper (that's where the princess lives in Betancuria btw) are the same person.
This has been verified by the Vault staff.
Thanks. I always thought it was someone else that had modified the module since the name was different.
Has anyone ever worked out a map of the region? I get a little confused.
A good story module, from what I've seen so far. I played the original version last year, but I lost my saves due to not backing up my data. (grumbles)
After some time having spent just moving onto other games, until I could motivate myself to give this one another try, I saw this update here and decided to give it a shot using NWN EE.
*Edited: seems like the fixes hath come! Thx Valine! Glad to see you are still around! I guess I better play the game again, and see how everything goes now, with the latest patch.*
Not a fan. The inherent pathing issues with NWN are exacerbated here, causing much frustration. Numerous bugs detected never seen in the original (equipment vanishing, special diary tally not matching with reported advances in the game, etc). Spelling/grammar/typos not present (or not as noticeable) in the original. The visual-only adult scenes are too long, unskippable, and are often buggy.
I appreciate the effort but the execution, instead of enhancing or adding to the original, detracts from the enjoyment of the module.
(note: this is a reply to the post at the bottom of the previous page)
If you believe you have found bugs, typos or have suggestions, you can list them here or try to do it via personal message. Some of them may have already been reported by other users and be already fixed for the next (unreleased yet) version, but given the size of the module, detailed user feedback should significantly contribute to its improvement.
Fantastic story and characters (and with the changes compared to older versions of part 1, I'm intrigued as to where a potential (hopefully) Part 2 EE will go). But despite that, one of the most fun things I've always found in this module is the dungeons- the way they're made for rogues means they're full of tricks and traps and locks- the sort of thing great D&D dungeons *should* be full of! the Temple of Hyath combines all of these things I've talked about to be one of the most fun and interesting dungeons I've played through.
There were some bugs (I played 2.03, so many of those may have been fixed in 2.10) but I didn't run into anything that couldn't be sorted out by reloading my last save.
Started a new game. When Shira dies at the very beggining the game bugs out. Nothing happens and I can walk around but not really interact with anything.
Don't use any movement speed increasing mods, had the same problem.
I'm not sure, but I think this glitch may be tied to the new pathing AI that was introduced into EE a while ago, causing Shiro and/or the guards to get stuck instead of following the Princess into the corridor.
Simply re-starting the module should hopefully take care of this. Please let me know, if not.
Alas, I have the same problem with v. 2.10: Shira dies, the Princess responds accordingly, and... nothing. I've restarted the module a couple of times, but the result seems to be the same every time. It might be related to the positioning of the characters involved? Also, if I walk around I can talk to the Dhorn Commander (he's behind a closed door), but nothing happens after the initial conversation. (By the way, I'm running the module in v. 1.69.)
However, to end on a high note: I love the new dress my Princess wears...
Can someone tell me how to get through the crossing? So far I caught the talk between the female and terick. Got the Dorn papers, came back to meet with casitis, everyone is dying and I don't know how to turn this around. I can take a boat and leave but that does not solve anything.
Help.
Edit: Pia pointed me in the right direction.. Still, not loveing the changes. I feel there is not even close to enough time with Pia.
NWNee: "Could not load the module. The module file might be corrupt"
When trying to create a new character. Also when choosing to select premade character. Occurs with 2.10 and 2.00, does not occur with 2.03
Sounds to me like the download of the module file got corrupted. Have you tried re-downloading the module?
Yes, same result.
The full text of that message is "Could not load the Module. Module file might be corrupted OR it was created using a newer version of the toolset and/or game resources"
I haven't checked this instance, but 9 times out of 10 it means the player's game is out of date. Check that you have the latest retail release 8193.28.
Hi at least for me the full text does not include these sentences. The version is 83.8193.28. I think the fact that 2.03 works illustrates that something less expected must be wrong.
Also nothing involving food and drink works. I cannot even deactivate it. My character slowly starves no matter what I do.
Just a wild guess but did you also download the 4th hakpack zip file that is needed for 2.10?
Yes those are downloaded and in the right place.
Strangely enough, I installed the GoG version of NWN:EE, and it worked fine. I'm not sure what the issue was with my Steam installation.

The new version of the game breaks at the very beginning, just after Shira dies.
Hello Grimgengar, please check/try #454.
It seems the problem is that General Reyer is stuck behind the door in the princess' room. That makes it impossible for him to participate in the dialog, the dialog breaks and you're stuck.
@2acornupper: perhaps you should move the general and everyone else to their expected positions before you start the 'Oh no Shira...' dialog in case the first cutscene does work as expected.
I have uploaded an updated version (2.11) which should make the opening cutscene more robust / fix the glitch with the module breaking after Shira dies.
This is the only change in 2.11 compared to 2.10, so if the intro scene in version 2.10 works for you, there's no need to download version 2.11.
I found one route of the "Could not load the Module. Module file might be corrupted OR it was created using a newer version of the toolset and/or game resources"
If you open the game with the NWtools, you cannot open a saved game.
So if you poked around the game with the tools, you cannot save a game.
This problem was not there with any other version.
Just finished the module and its amazing! Thank you for this masterpiece! I cant recommend it highly enough.
I dont even know how to return back to Original Campaign after this adventure
Now im thinking about should i replay it cause it seems ive missed some quests and maybe with another Princess class too. Or maybe try to go to Part two.
Did you guys try to play old Part Two after this version? How does it feels? Should I or it will be better to stay away from it and hope for the same update for Part Two?
P.S. sorry for my English.
I also just finished playing the latest version. Wow. There must be a gazillion styles of shoes.
My only question is "steel thong panties" WHo would wear that?
If you have not played the most recent version (2.10 or 2.11) explore the city again. There are some hidden gems.
Spoiler alert:
Is there a resolution to the Jacia story?
*Some spoilers*
Loved your module. Here are some things I noticed:
1. vico discussing dhorn spies: Yapping it me - should be at
2. pot doesnt increment (thrice the bet is deducted from player but not added to pot) when playing dice at hideout when player challenges.
3. "I admit I don't feel like sleeping" is written twice in note by bath (forgot to note WHICH bath).
Also I wrote a kiss animation for my own game many years ago (version 1.5 of Part 2) which I would love to see in a future update (basically Andarian's for Sanctum series adapted to ADWR). I'm sure real modders could do something similar much better and more quickly for 2.11 than I could.
I've checked in on this module ever so often for years and have finished it many, many times--all versions. I was looking to install it again and can't believe that it's been updated!!! Can't wait to get started! THANK YOU!
Can someone point me to high quality heads? Some of the gameplay picks show very high quality heads.
Also is it possible to make the bodies male and female standard for all (non-exclusive) mods? Or is there a quality body replacer anywhere that gets rid of the default underware?
I may have stumbled upon a bug in v2.10/2.11 (running in the Enhanced Edition). During lesson 5, the Princess can offer an alternative form of payment to the sailor wearing the copper ring. If she does, Princess and sailor head off to the empty warehouse... and then nothing happens. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Reloading doesn't seem to work.
(Edit:) Also: before they head off to the warehouse, the sailor hands over his ring; however, if you pick the sailor's pockets, you'll end up with a different ring.
(Edit 2:) I've done some experimenting, and the problem does not occur in NWN v1.69; it's an EE "feature". What's more, reloading & trying again always seems to have the same result? (I must have tried about 30 times.)
In the end, I started a new game in v1.69 and switched to EE after I had obtained the sailor's ring.
It happens every now and then with all the sailors. You will need to reload or try him again later.
Also, if you see him on the streets, you can pick-pocket him.
Can I just say this is the best game I have played in a long long time. It is up there with my favorite game ever: Dragon Age Origins and this was made by one person. I made an account just to give this 10 stars. It has everything I ever looked for in a game. Amazing story, reactive world, interesting NPCS and quests. I also really appreciated that the world around me actually recognizes my character is a girl. In so many games I play I feel like the default character option is a male and even when I have an option to play as a female, my female character always gets ignored but any other female NPC in game gets reactions and guys flirting with them. This is such a nice change of pace and so so unique. Thank you so much for making this wonderful game.
Also if anyone else knows other games like this, or even books or tv shows let me know. I need something to fill the void. I loved this game so much.
There aren't many other games like this.
ANd a game you might want to look at is NWN2 with the mod Dark Waters. It is fun, engaging and it recognizes if you are a lady.
If it's books you're looking for, Jacqueline Carey's novels set in Terre d'Ange might be right up your alley. Start with the Phèdre trilogy (Kushiel's Dart, Kushie's Chosen and Kushiel's Avatar).
As for games... yeah, this game's pretty unique. There's a spin-off in the Vault that sort of promises to do for ADwR what Half-Life: Blue Shift did for Half-Life... However, A Dance with Spies cannot hold a candle to A Dance with Rogues.
I agree with you. This is the best RPG game I have ever played, hands down. The tension, the decisions, and the sheer difficulty as playing a lone female rogue in a world full of danger is just captivating. And it was also my entry into the world of erotic games. It's defintely a classic. If you want a contempoary erotic game with something of the same feel (i.e, you will die often, choices matter, etc) try The Last Sovereign by Sierra Lee. An RPGM game that truly makes the most out of the engine to create something pretty incredible. It does have a male protagonist, so if a female protagonist is important to you skip it
Weird question but maybe someone knows what music is played by piano in the Academy?
Is Undertow completable?
Kena attacks me no matter what I say. I got slaughtered by Kena without cheating and with no possible legitimate way to victory (at my level) as far as I can see. When cheating, I defeated her, but she disappeared before death. The quest giver is gone.
I suspect I went too early, I got the quest by piling charisma and persuade buffs. But even with the higher level character (cheating), the quest didn't advance.
I did sell Jacia the book much earlier in the game. Maybe that changed things.
a second question I have is where is, uh, "back door" somebody? I forgot her name it's the punisher quest. I found the carpenters head. But no sign of the woman.
I'm quite enjoying this update other than a few issues like path finding. But the quests are still great. The changes are interesting. I'd love to see something new from the author someday too.
If she expands this any further I hope it's around the thirteenth god. It seems like she built an interesting area without much payoff. Unless there's more coming. I haven't even reached the missing Pia part.
Spoilers"
To find back door betty, she is in the Dhorn section of the merchant quarter. From the admin building, turn left (North). At the intersection turn right (east). SHe is in the basement of a room on the south side of that street. The basement is hidden and guarded by a dog.
