Is Undertow completable?
Kena attacks me no matter what I say. I got slaughtered by Kena without cheating and with no possible legitimate way to victory (at my level) as far as I can see. When cheating, I defeated her, but she disappeared before death. The quest giver is gone.
You may need to wait for the next version to be able to conclude Undertow.
Kena attacks you no matter what and is the hardest enemy in the game, but she's (barely) beatable. Use wand of oblivion from the academy (Pia's area) to strip her spells and bring a +3 weapon to pass her resistance. She will use wand of magic missiles on you them (lots of magical damage), so you may want to have a lot of HP and some magic resistance items (check the temple and jeweler). I also don't think selling the book has any effect on her. She has all her spells whether you do that or not.
I never even considered the wand. Thank you!
Dropping a bunch of electric traps is by far the easiest way to defeat any enemy in the game including Kena. Especially if you have a level in ShadowDancer, the trap an lure technique works in any space in which you have room to move. Make sure you have a Necklace of Electrical Resistance so you don't hoist youself on your own pitard.
The Module is corrupted, both 2.10 and 2.11
Using the Steam Version of EE by the way
First is your de-archiver up to date? Winrar download site and 7zip download site. That is usually the cause of "corrupted" files. You always need to keep them up to date as files compressed with a newer version of either of them will throw up non-existent errors. You could also use the Neverwinter Nights Mod Installer Tool - NIT tool to simplify downloading, installing modules (and associated files) and playing. It does more than that too so check out the project page (no, I have nothing to do with it).
TR
Tried updating 7zip and tried using the mod installer tool and neither worked.
Just downloaded both versions. They're working fine for me.
Did you see this post? Could be a problem with your Steam installation.
If not. please explain your problem in more detail - what operating system? Can you open the .zip files and extract the contents to the correct locations? If so, what precise message are you getting when you start a new game with this module?
This is the only module that has this issue.
I'm on windows 10 and I have tried using both the latest stable version on steam and the latest on in the beta and both give me "It's corrupted".
I have extracted the hak files to the hak folders, even made sure it was clean and the module to the module folder in the Documents/neverwinternights folder.
I tried both creating a new character and using a premade but i can't get further than the play module button.
Huh, that is odd.
Forgive me if I'm asking a rather stupid question, but have you tried to re-download the zip-files? Because, as far as I can tell, the latest versions (2.10 and 2.11) are working fine on my end—Windows 10, running NWN EE (GOG version, manual install) and 'old school' v. 1.69.
Just to be sure, I checked that the module is working under the Win 10 Steam version of EE (previous test was on the Beamdog version).
So this must be a local problem.
First, double-check that all files are installed in the correct location.
Then try disabling overrides in documents and unsubscribing Steam Workshop Items (by temporarily renaming the folders if that's easier). The folder locations are given in this guide.
If that doesn't help, make the game installation folder an AV exception.
If all else fails, reinstall Steam EE.
Excellent module, lots of fun and thank you, Valine2acornupper and everybody for this update. Is there any rumor/ whisper about second part update???? My once a Princess is in hurry to kick more Dhorn`s asses.
My gameplay: last update (August) 2021, NwN EE Steam Edition, Windows 10, without corrupted files. Steam EE Edition is by default installed on drive C so maybe this is BjarkiOlsenm problem: set full admin acces to everything on drive C to unzipp correctly. My Steam app is on separate drive (E) and NwN EE on C.
spoilers:
You get the Dhorn slayer from the bulletin board in the thieves' guild. There are some other quests there. Dhorn slayer only shows up after you do the temple quest.
Make sure you complete it before you do the undertow quest.
Thanks for that, helps a lot.
Speaking of Undertow, is it actually completeable in this version?
The witch attacks automatically when she spots the Princess and teleports away when beaten down to a certain point.
(Quick tip: Summon IX scroll)
The quest giver doesn't appear again and the quest is just left hanging in the journal.
Thanks for that, helps a lot.

So the Princess is kind of stumped... (slight spoilers ahead)
There's this Temple deep beneath the sewers, but I have no idea how to proceed.
Without giving too much away, is there a way to access the lower area? Hitting the gong doesn't seem to do anything, and I've searched all over the place for some elusive hidden door...
There is indeed a secret door in the short corridor to the east near area's entry point.
Once you explore that part, take the plain robe with you - it opens another quest hinted by the note.
If you need guidance but don't mind spoilers, you can always use dm_showarea in debug mode to temporarily reveal the map.
Excellent advice! The one place I hadn't searched obviously contains a hidden passage…
NWShacker, expect a substantial reward once we are restored as the rightful ruler of Betancuria.
I see there's quite a few active and knowledgeable people in this comment section.
Quick question to everyone: is anyone interested in updating ADWR Wiki with the contents of the update?
The page used to be a veritable gold mine of information regarding the mod, but seems seems to have lost its guiding force after 1.50.
Version 2.1 changes little short than everything about the mod, from maps (completely redesigned Docks, Sewers and Mayor's Mansion, to name a few), to quests, items and even some characters. Right now the wiki is more misleading than anything else and would need a thorough overhaul to be back to snuff.
I understand this would be a massive undertaking, but maybe if a few of us chipped in, the site could breathe new life into this mod's community.
I'd chip in wherever I can of course, though don't have a lot of experience with editing wikis so not sure just how much I can help.
Anyone interested?
Hello, sorry, I would really like but currently I haven't much time to dedicate to this project...
Apart from this, I think that the two Wiki's should coexist and be independent from each other since the 2.x EE edition is becoming a module of its own.
I was actually in the process of constructing my own .docx walkthrough for personal reference. A wiki would be much more intuitive. How would I go about signing on to this endeavor? I'm not leadership material, but I'll happily provide grunt work.
edit: I am currently constructing a Github page to host my current walkthrough with hyperlinks and whatnot. Internet magic! This might be easier if someone (maybe me? I don't know, whoever feels up to it, I guess) creates an organization Git and we build a collaborative webpage through that method.
I am remarkably interested. I don't have any experience with editing wikis but I'm just finishing off my first play-through of 2.11 and I fully intend to start a second one right away. So, I have fresh memories and A TON OF PASSION for this wonderful game.
CORRUPTION WARNING
As it stands, adwrhak3.zip contains out-of-date CEP2 haks that, if installed, corrupt recent CEP2 modules.
To prevent this, don't install adwrhak3 - install the official CEP2 instead.
Didn't 2acornupper warned the players not to have installed CEP2 and ADWR 2.0+ at the same time?
As far as I know adwrhak3 conflicts with certain textures in CEP2, you can see this in certain docks and cellar buildings in ADWR, they become white if you have installed both the CEP and ADWR with hakpaks. The reason for this seems that adwrhak3 and CEP2 using same textures which override each other.
So wouldn't be much safer to deinstall CEP2 if you want to play ADWR, and respectively deinstalling ADWR if you want to play a CEP2 depending module?
The problem is that ADWR 2.x works specifically with four CEP2 haks from adwrhak3 which come from an older version of CEP2 (dated 2009-2010). If you try to use CEP 2.65 however, some of the area geom textures (like in the dockhouse) will be corrupted - all white. This would not be a problem if haks from adwrkhak3 had different names, but they don't, hence the corruption Proleric is warning about.
You can deinstall CEP while playing ADWR, but that's going to prevent you from playing other modules that rely on those haks.
Extra info:
The white texture issue in certain areas will be resolved in CEP v2.66. After updating to CEP 2.66 from CEP 2.65, you will NOT need to install the haks in ADWR3HAK.zip. I am sending a message to the author so he is aware.

Thanks for the heads up about that!
Omg I am so excited! I was just about to replay the old version when I decided to check out the vault because of the major update for the EE edition. I saw this, and I am downloading and going to play my heart out! Thanks for this update! <3
EDIT:
I didn't want to double post, but my first impressions of this beautiful overhaul is just pure amazement. You can instantly tell that so much love went into the making of this.It is just breathtaking. I don't want to spoil anything, but there are so many cute little details added. Cute kittens included lol. Anyways, I'll gush and fan-girl more later. But, thanks again for taking the time for this. I'm looking forward to exploring everything.
I ran into a few scripting errors during my current playthrough.
1) When refusing the Top Secret quest and then reporting the questgiver, the other NPCs in the area wouldn't start attacking him along with the PC. My guess is that the script to add the PC to the hideout faction failed to execute properly, as they didn't react to the fight in any way.
2) After the Nice Company quest, I didn't receive the option to proceed onto Mayor's Mansion. Checked in a few times later and after doing various quests, still no change.
3) The quest Steal Vald's Key was skipped altogether - Jacia didn't offer it immediately after completing Jacia's Messanger and then (after a few days and a couple of other quests completed) straight up offered Kill Vald instead.
Any tips how to fix it? I'd rather not start the module all over again just because of that...
Also, just to avoid double-post: how does the game determine if the character detects a given secret door?
I've tried playing an unorthodox build (using a sorceress' familiar to do the rogue stuff) and managed to do everything I needed... except that.
I'm guessing the script checks the PC's Search score or does a check in that manner?
Eh, so much for not-double-posting.
I've managed to get Steal Vald's Key in this playthrough, but the bugger just won't appear in the arena. I've camped for him 3 times already and he's still a no-show.
Vald is supposed to spawn when you enter the arena (the arena, not the entrance or the catacombs) and you have the quest to steal the key.
This is controlled by two variables: Mission2 on Jacia and ValdSpawn on the arena area. The verify that these variables have the correct values go to the hideout (during daytime) and with debug mode enabled type
##dm_getvarint Mission2
and click on Jacia. Value should be 1. If not talk to Jacia again to get the quest or type ##dm_setvarint Mission2 1 and click on Jacia.
Next go to the arena (arena, not catacombs or entrance). Vald should be there now. If not check the variable ValdSpawn with
##dm_getvarint ValdSpawn
and click somewhere in the ground. Value should be 1 which means that Vald has been spawned.
If you still can't find him you can try the chooser: with debug mode enabled press the period key (.). This should open a small window in the upper left corner. In the area list select the arena, then open the creature list and look for Vald. You can either move your char to Vald's position or move Vald to your position. If Vald is not in the list then there's something wrong.
Thanks, finally managed to get him.
I think I get why Jacia decides to off him.
First of al thanks for this.
I'll have a bug report. Dunno if it's just me but I can't advance after the princess gets captured by the bearded guy. I can't rest as I keep getting the "You can't rest while there are enemies nearby" warning.
I honestly love the idea of the food and water system if it would work properly. I'll have my princess eat food but there are times that I don't get any sort of notification that she has eaten it..(e.g Yummy or Refreshing) she will continue to bitch about being hungry!
Help?
Hello,
Is there another place to download the mod and HAK packs? I click on all of them, and it says "ERROR: Invalid download url" for each one. Am I doing something wrong?
I checked here just randomly and am so happy to see this mod has been updated again! Thank you so much, and I am so excited to play this module again.
That currently affects everything on here. Hopefully normal service will resume soon.
TR
Oh, I was not aware it was affecting the entire site. Thank you so much for letting me know so quickly!
Stuck In "Uncover the Dhorn Spies"
As an angry princess I killed ALL the gladiators before returning to Nathan.
No I am am stuck because that jerk Vico wont let me leave the gladiator school despite the fact that nothing lives there anymore.
Can this be fixed via save game editing or console OR do i have to redo the quest?
Are you sure all the gladiators are dead? Because normally that quest goes just the same, regardless when the gladiators are kiled (before reporting to Nathan or afterwards).
You can check the variable "DeadDhornGladiators" on the princess. Value should be 18:
Enable debug mode and type
##dm_getvarint DeadDhornGladiators
into the chatline and click on your char.
You are entirely correct Kamiryn :)
I redid the quest from the point where I had just one gladiator left (at least I THOUGHT so).
In this try I realized that I did not search the basement carefully enough :) => two gladiators in there I missed.
Thanks very much :)
You can indeed use a console command, but it may not be necessary. If there's just one gladiator left, it's probably the one guarding the building on Mercenary's Way.
Once you've teamed up with Vico, Cata and Timo you bypass said buiding, as you go straight to the tunnel system. Backtrack to the entrance & finish off the last gladiator to properly finish the quest. (Silly gladiators.)
I've got the quest "Kill Vald" but he isn't in his house. I've tried coming in at all hours of the day and night practically but he is never there. I've also looked around for hidden doors but I never find any.
Help?
SPoiler:
he is hiding in a hidden room. Search in his house and you will find him there
Might it be that I messed up the Pia romance if She refuses to sleep with me at the Mermaid?
Could it be that just 1 or 2 "wrong" dialog choices in the Baron encounter are responsible for this?
I think I have the same problem. After being introduced to the Baron and his family where you get to sleep in the guestroom with only one bed and blanket you can tell her how you think of your first encounter. My Princess did that and got a response along the lines of keeping it professional/distant. Bummer ;_;
Did not skip Joanna's mission by drinking wine and overall always replied in a kind manner to her. Turned down Anden and other guys when they hinted at the Princess being interested in them or someone else. Maybe flirted a little with Tarleth?
Are there any variables to check or lines in debug mode to salvage the savefile and have a romance with her? Can't bring myself to start anew after getting this far.
Otherwise the module so far is a blast from the past in a shiny new look! Everywhere you look it becomes clear how much heartblood was poured into the game. Often find myself just admiring the rooms and what dedication to decorating and buidling went into it. Big kudos for that! Also the dialogue and story is impressive!
SPOILER ALERT!
NOW it seems that after I have now finished the quest line AND Pia still does not want to sleep with me at the mermaid that I have to backtrack hours of play time.
I am completely clueless were I broke the Pia romance.
I second this request. After having come thus far, is there any variable / savegame edit to save our playthrough?
The following may or may not help. as it's based upon the older versions of ADwR, parts 1 and 2.
Try this once you've caught up with Pia in the "Missing Pia" quest:
type SetVarInt Relationship 2; when asked for a target, click Pia again.
Hope this is of some use.
UPDATE: I broke the Pia romance
Spoiler Alert!
I started out again with the last save when finding Pia.
01. My FIRST ERROR was at Castle Crossing in the "Guest Room" with Pia => I clicked directly on the bed => this did not trigger the dialogue with Pia.
I needed to speak with her while she was sitting on the floor.
02. Still after going though the dialogue with different options she refused to sleep with me in the first room at Castle Crossing.
03.I replayed it using your suggestion of setting the Relationship variable to 2. The interresting thing was, that unmodified the variable was showing a value of 0 and even after setting it to 2 I did not see any difference how the above dialogue turned out.
I am quite puzzled as in playing the old module i never messed up the romance ...
UPDATE: I broke the Pia romance
Spoiler Alert!
I did a few last tries but to no avail - even after i completed the dialogue i missed in the first place => playing once again up to the point to get to the mermaid resulted in the same behaviour: Pia refused to sleep with me.
So far i cannot make the romance work an I take a break from the module. May come back at some time when a walkthrough is available.
