Founded by Rift Riders over 2 centuries ago the settlement of Rhyvian grew to become a vast city but with the knowledge and power they had acquired however came greed and zeal, and the people began expanding into dangerous areas with their Rift Devices, to the point where even the weather was a controllable attribute of daily life. 50 years ago a disaster in the Old City section of Rhyvian claimed many lives and proved once again the folly of trying to harness Rift energy. Good start to the campaign and initially interesting story to discover. However, as the further I played the more bored I became. Although there are fast travel points in the city, there's still a lot of running around to be done and combat encounters are lazy and generic, always having me go up against rats, goblins and thieves who all look the same! No attempt at henchmen development was made, they are pretty much copies of the vanilla NWN henchmen., but at least you can easily edit their equipment. The least the author could do was give humanoid enemies custom armor, rather than using the standard human bandit model for all of them...
Just finished this and I must say that it is a great module! The story was interesting as to your heritage of the NPC and the various areas were well put together. Not a lot of boss type encounters though, which I feel are more satisfying than just mowing down the troops! I enjoyed the henchperson interface and the ending was a good one. Thanks for the great effort!
