Description | |
Woke up by roadside stripped of your gear. You must now with the aid of friendly NPCs discover the truth behind the rash of mysterious disappearances. The once peaceful mountain town of Ibernia needs your help. Do you have what it takes? This is the first in a 3 part series entitled: The Undead King. There are two henchmen that are plot related. Both are hirable by one PC. The story is not alignment sensitive although the storyline is driven down a more neutral path. Soloist should be level 20. There is an NPC that will level you to 20 if you want to start with a brand-new character. This is my first attempt I hope you enjoy it. Any suggestion on improvement will be appreciated. |

I really wanted to enjoy this mod. It had an awesome setting with tons of RP value, but so many issues that I can only think that it was never proofread or playtested. The henchmen were underpowered and refused to requip gear when changing it for better stuff. Upon walking out of the first door, there were about 20 or more uber powerful werewolves and fear-inducing spiders, standing right at the door. I'm sure changing the spawn points would fix it, but it was super annoying to not even be able to kill more than one before respawning. At least respawn was free. The next game stopper was the dialog. There were spelling and grammar errors in nearly every bit of dialog in the game. It really made it hard to stay in character while giggling at the writers lack of basic grammar. I understand that some people don't speak or write English very good, but why not get someone who does to proofread it? Oh and the plot jumped all around. For most of the mod, the things we did didn't make any sense. We were sent to get a cloak from a farm, and wound up in some dead guy's dungeon, with no heads up or pre-information as to why it would even be there. And it was assumed that we knew the guy. Furthermore, some of the NPC's were supposed to give quests, didn't and others who did, turned hostile when it was time to hand the quest in. After reading the journal at the end of the game (which assumed all quests were completed to satisfaction) I found out that someone sent an assassin after me. I had no idea at all. It was kind of just a surreal experience from start to finish.
Thanks for your review.
I liked this a lot, but you have to be uber-ed up to last. The start was tough, in the cemetary, and the worst was the wolf cave, even after you have some decent gear! Cold immunity anyone? Still , it was an interesting romp and a goodone. Try it out. You will be leveled to about 17, I believe, if you ask for it in the begining catacomb.
