IMPORTANT:
1.) NEW 2022-01-05: If you want to play using NWN: EE (Enhanced Edition), then be sure to download "The EE-version of CbtS", which eliminates EE-related bugs. A big thanks to Mmat for this update.
2.) This original version of this module is not optimized for Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition (NWN: EE) and works best with the original version of Neverwinter Nights (the CD-ROMs or the digital Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition).
3.) Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition on GoG.com [LINK] includes the original Diamond Edition.
4.) The Expansions SoU & HotU and v.1.68 of NWN are a minimum requirement for being able to play this module.
STORY
"The village of Flexy ... the place you and your friend Matheus Lemon decided to visit in order to relax from your adventuring life for a couple of hours. You and your friend had quite a few drinks this evening and decided to stay in Erik's House, the local gathering-point; in order to be able to continue adventuring the next day. It all begins with the aftermath of this seemingly great party ... because now ... it's the end of the Calm before the Storm ..."
Gameplay Length: 3-5 hours depending on playstyle.
This is a remake of my very first module "Calm before the Storm" which I originally created way back in the end of 2003.
The module is Single-Player for 1st level characters (End level 8th or 9th) with Good Alignment and with classes like fighter, barbarian or paladin. Male characters and the races Human or Half-Elf fits best. Download, play, VOTE ONCE YOU'RE DONE! Thank you. I hope you will enjoy this remake. :)

I had such high hopes for this module. The presentation looked flawless, and the story seemed very intriguing. The fact that you incorporated all this different music from different video games really kept the whole experience very fresh.
Not to mention, you made it very clear which character the PC had to make. I only ever found the wizard mage in the temple of Frisky. She seemed really interesting as a companion, as well.
The English translation seemed a little iffy at times, meaning there were some grammatical errors... but other than that, it didn't bother me.
However, I wasn't even able to progress past the village of Frisky. There was no area transition indicator to take me into the forest, so sadly I wasn't really able to try this module. Here's to hoping that you actually check this forum every once and a while.
I played on the NWN: Enhanced Edition version of the game.
Hey there, glad you decided to download and play my mod! :)
Unfortunately, I'm not sure NWN: Enhanced Edition supports my mod in it's current condition since I've never really done a playtest of the mod in NWN EE.
But fret not, I'm planning to update all of my mods once the Official NWN EE releases. I'm guessing you're playing with a free download of NWN EE?
By the way, did you manage to open Flexy's Town Gate? Or are you still within the city?
There was a transition bug in EE which has been fixed.
Good module. Not very complex perhaps, but still nice and enjoyable.
Nothing seriously broken, though the transition to Akano's tomb was less than perfectly evident (I ended up finding it through the toolset), and some chests were impossible to reach due to placement (bashing other chests in the way usually solved this, but in at least one case the chest was simply not reachable on the walkmesh).
Story was paper thin, to the point of parody. Fun in its own way, but not great even as comedy.
Combat and progression were both straighforward. Immortal zombies are as annoying as the name implies, bypassing them was the only trick (and non-optional without resorting to DM mode).
Overall, time would be better spent replaying the Original Campaign or any expansion.
This module serves mostly as a prelude to the sequel, A New Journey begins (thus far shows slightly more promise, despite hilariously broken economy allowing infinite* gold). No rating at this time, I probably simply don't understand the appeal.
*You can't actually get infinite gold, the game caps your gold at 999,999,999, but you can buy everything you want + everything you can carry + leave bags full of stuff and piles of gold in the streets cause it's too much to carry, and still have just shy of a billion gold in your pocket.
Area transitions seems to be broken (Nwn EE)
I didn't have any transition issues with this mod. It was quite good, with a fine story and very full henchperson interface, with two on board even! Minus one star for Immortal Zombies! Quite an adventure with a variety of bosses too. Well done. On to Part II!
Which area and trigger are you having problems with?
The very first one when you go through the gate from the starting village. Also, the transition to get back to the village. Have not explored any further in case none of the transitions work.
Confirmed. This comes from drawn area triggers making use of the Door option and a TAG of a second drawn area transition.
This quirky style worked in Diamond Edition 1.69 if done this way, and breaks in the Enhanced Edition.
It has been bugged to Beamdog.
FP!
Didn't they fix something similar a year or two back?
TR
@FP, Many thanks for looking into this.
Many thanks for fixing this for EE - very much appreciated.
I have encountered another problem. When escaping from the prison, I enter a room with zombies in it. The princess says something to me, after which my character cannot move or do anything (can't pick up the knife, attack the zombies or move in any direction).
Do you have any ideas as to what I can do to proceed?
Many thanks for any help,
It seems that you just have to wait while the zombies are attacking you and the princess. Eventually you are able to move again. I looked at the script and it seems like there are many delayed actions performed before the script ends. Perhaps it would be better to move the trigger to a place where the zombies can't see you, so the script can complete before you are attacked.
so Enhanced Edition version of Save the Princess?
I didn't know what it quite was when I downloaded it a lifetime ago but thought it was pretty funny... Certainly not a typical fare but I still was glad I played it.
Such a cute cozy story. Thanks for this module :)
