"Bob's dungeon crawl"

This module is a low-level (1+) adventure where the player explores a wizard built dungeon set deep in a forest.  It could be that some of the random adventures may seem too hard on the player initially, but if they are killed, the player is immedietly revived at the entrance with no penalty, including all of their gear.  There is a guild camp and shop at the entrance, as well.

Important systems to be aware of:

True Darkness (originally by BemusedManatee) will require human PCs to have a light source or some way to see in the dark.  If not, they will receive combat penalties.

 

Torch Life (originally from CRAP) is related to the darkness setting.  Torches have a limited life span and will burn out over time.

 

Ambiguous Intereactive Dungeons (AID v.3+). Actually the D might stand for Designs, but I forget.  Anyway, the AID OnChat system allows the player to interact with the dungeon in more detail.  There will be a Journal entry which will list the OnChat commands available in the game.  In addition, the player will be given an AID Tool.  

This useful widget will allow the player to access the AID commands without typing as often.

I've been making modules for NWN ever since I first got my hands on the game 12 years ago.  The results were originally just for family and friends.  Most of the creations reached a level of playability, but not completeness.

What usually happens is that I run into a clever idea about something I want the module to do that isn't readily available.  So I get wrapped up in making that process work.  This results in me scripting 

and testing the process into my building mods and not finishing the module I started in.

I have released a few modules to the Vault (old and new) over the years, but all have been basemodules - Mannast's Basemod (CEP), CRAP hybrid basemods, some sample mods for my systems, my Vanilla Basemod (MVB) and recently my Simplified basemodule (MS).  I make little unfinished adventures otherwise which sit on my NWN chip.  I revisit them periodically.  My family and friends play them and then ask me to finish them.

All of this is to explain this module - Bob's Dungeon Crawl.  I enjoy the Pixel Dungeon games of late - my two faves are Shattered and Yet Another.  I was reaching for the feel of the old NetHack games and playing around with my latest basemodule build.  It is short and sweet and purposefully has little to no plot.

As a sidenote, in playtesting this module, I found the scry system wasn't working correctly and got sidetracked for three days trying to make it work.  Thankfully, I returned to this so I could get it "finished'.  I will likely update this module in the near of future.
